And in other news...
New Species Of Tarantula Named After MEGADETH Frontman
So who's gonna go see hypocrisy? Been keen to see them for a number of years. Some great Swedish death metal.
So who's goin to nightwish and sabaton on Friday? Those that have not heard sabaton should definitely check em out.
I met Snowy effin Shaw!!! I crapped my pants.
The man has been in many bands and can play guitar, drums, bass, and sing. Not all at the same time though :p
\m/ Hells Yeah!!! :D:D:D \m/
Just preordered my copy of Black Sabbath's newest Album '13', 2CD Deluxe Edition no less!, via this link right bloody-well here!:D:cool:
Coupled with the fact that I'll be seeing 'em in Sydney with Mr. 1AZRAEL1 in April, a very Black Sabbath year it'll be!
I find Black Sabbath's website embarrassing.
Even though Bill Ward is not in the band, did they have to crop him out of every picture?
And according to the discography, they didn't release anything after 'Never Say Die'.
Actually YES, Bill Ward & his legal team specifically requested that his image not be associated with this iteration of the line up - I really wanted to see him in the mix too but alas it wasn't to be.
Well, beyond the 2001 Reunion Live Tour album & DVD they didn't release anything since 'Never Say Die' - As said tour & media heavily incorporates Bill Ward, see the above.Quote:

The must have really pissed Bill Ward to have him do that.
What about albums like 'Heaven & Hell', 'Mob Rules', 'Born Again', 'Headless Cross', 'Dehumanizer', etc. They are all Black Sabbath albums, and shouldn't be ignored just because Sharon Osbourne's husband wasn't involved.
Seems completely sensible to me; he's not participating so why allow for his image to be used for free?
As of 'The Devil You Know', the Dio-iteration of the band was henceforth to be known as Heaven & Hell - This arose out of the court decision that found Ozzy & Tony owning equal-halved rights to the name Black Sabbath.Quote:
What about albums like 'Heaven & Hell', 'Mob Rules', 'Dehumanizer'...
These iterations having only Iommi (Occasionally Butler) as the sole original member in their line-ups, have been described by Iommi on a number of occasions to of never have been intended to be Black Sabbath albums; Purely due to the Record Label's management were they forcibly labelled as such so they're really only Black Sabbath albums in name only.Quote:
'Born Again', 'Headless Cross', etc...
Geeze, didn't see this coming... :rolleyes:Quote:

This incredibly petty statement had me 2nd guess even replying to your post but I felt that it needs to be pointed out:
The website, this new album & its marketing are very clearly pointing & focusing on the Original Ozzy Osbourne fronted line-up and that in no way is any of it trying to lessen or discount the later line-up's efforts; it just so happens that those line-ups had nothing to do with this iteration & therefore make absolutely no sense in referencing, for the reasons I've already mentioned and likely many others.
Why it is that the 'Sharon Osbourne Lynch Mob' feel they need to make their presence & opinions felt every time someone mentions Ozzy Osbourne in a positive light, or express their adoration for the man, baffles me - go and rain on someone else's parade.
Bought Jason Newsted's solo effort "Newsted - Metal" and I have to say I am damn impressed. It's actually a really good set of songs. Sadly only 4 songs, but it's an EP. Well worth the $6.99 pricetag (and even better at 20% off at JB Hifi over the weekend :D)
It's straight out in your face heavy metal. Go forth and buy it.
Been getting back into BLS. Spinning alot of the older stuff.
Been listening to a lot of Threat Signal lately. If you like ol'school Fear Factory, you'll love these guys
Let's just say that wasn't his area of expertise ;) :p
8 tracks off sabbaths new album get some great reviews. Cannot wait to hear it myself. Sadly not out til June.
The new Gloryhammer album is both catchy and hilarious. I'll have a cheeseburger with extra cheese thanks!

Jeff Hanneman is dead. Slayer are going to have a hard time replacing him.
"Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman dies of liver failure after battling a flesh-eating disease caused by a spider bite"

Holy sh!t that's bad news.
But you gotta admit that is one hardcore death. Especially for the guitarist of Slayer.
Do you guys feel that once a core member of a band or two passes/leaves that the band should change their name or remain the same? A good example is Adema, that's gone through so many changes in its team I don't think it should even be called Adema anymore.
And Breaking Benjamin, they're coming back but the lead singer Benajmin Burley fired/got rid of all his team and it's just him. I guess because the name of the band has his name on it it'll stay as it is - even though right now it's a one man band. I like the music but I gotta admit the lead singer has an ego alright.
Look at Queensryche, you have 2 of them. One of them is the whole band without Geoff Tate singing, and the other with just Tate and a backing band. And then there's Axl Pose....
Having preordered this album 3 months ago, only to have it posted out on the 4th of this month...
(Was marked as 3-5 day postage, on Tuesday queried Universal UK over this & was told to wait another 15 days )
I could not wait any longer so finally bought this yesterday:

...only for my preorder copy to show up... today!?!
Doubly annoying, was that it arrived in a sealed bag from AusPost saying that it had been damaged at the sorting facility due to an adjacent package leaking. :(:mad:
Luckily & thankfully only the cardboard postage sleeve was buggered, the CDs & their case were perfectly fine save for an odd and unidentifiable smell. :o

I'm absolutely adoring this album, '13' sounds exactly like the modern classic I had imagined it'd be & I'm so very glad that this has been reflected in the success of it hitting the #1 spot in more than 50 countries including the US & UK!:D:cool:
(Breaking a British record in the process for the: "Longest period between two #1 Hit Albums" 43 years!)
Saw Carcass last night. Bloody awesome. Got in for free so that's a plus. Old school death metal. The singer is bloody good too.
I was there too. Good show.
I'm more of a thrash fan, Metallica and Megadeth being persona, favorites. Glad to see I'm not the only person who enjoys metal though.
Metal guy here too!
My claim to fame is meating Vinnie Paul in 2007 and getting his signature tattood on my arm. I got all emotional in front of everyone and im not embarrassed at all to admit it lol.
What do you guys think of the Soundwave lineup? My wife and i are pretty pissed that they put Slipknot and Lamb Of God on different days...and now apparently no headliners are doing sidewhows. So it looks like i have a tough decision to make. (Not that tough really, Faith No More and Fear Factory on Lamb Of Gods day so its pretty easy)
Emigrate (Richard Kruspe from Rammstein) has a new album coming out in October called Silent So Long. Cannot wait to get this. I quite like their first which came out forever ago. Guess that's why this album title was chosen :p
A few guest appearances. An appearance by god, Jonathon Davis, Manson and a couple others.

I'm personally not a metal fan, but I found this on the interwebs; Metallica played on a traditional Chinese instrument called a Guzeng (forerunner to the Japanese Koto). Enjoy.
