Just finished Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. I liked it, the ending was pretty spooky to me. Gonna watch Salvation next. :)
Watched Grudge Match on the weekend. A comedy boxing movie with Stallone and DeNiro. A good laugh plus a funny cameo from Chael P. Sonnen for UFC fans :)
Just watch 47 ronin ...and I found it quiet entertaining ...very good special effect ... but Keanu Reeves acting some what fallen badly and is now very wooden , there no emotional connection too the character what so ever!! ... Him in Man of Tai Chi was just shocking .... he did one fighting scene in the matrix and all the director think he can fight  so casting him into these roles which doesn't suit him at all ....
How does that happen I wonder? Same thing happened with Nicholas Cage. Was it always there and we just accepted it / didn't notice or do we expect more from actors these days. Looking back, movies from the 80's for the most part seem cheesy and over-acted, even when you compare them to TV shows today with movie style filming and A-list actors (see True Detective). IMO, it's probably a bit of both - actors that are unable to re-invent themselves for today's audiences and were pigeon-holed into certain roles e.g. Steven Seagal.
Come to think about it I just remember him in the matrix and in bill and ted's only !! lol ..... I think a lot of it come down to the director , how he coach the actors in the scene ... but with big name actor they might just get away with doing what ever they like ...
going to go watch Robocop later tonight .... please let it be good!!
Robocop was surprising good ...:) I totally recommend it... it had some tribute to the old movie and I felt it was a good remake .... I think the ending story line was abit rushed but overall very entertaining ....
There was one scene in there that was a stand out  and im glad they didn't show that in the trailers .... go see it!!
My brother in law appears in 47 Ronin (extra), and even he said that the film is terrible and only recommends it if you're a big fan of Keanu Reeves. :p I'm not holding any hope that it's remotely historically accurate either. So it's on my "watch it when it's available for rental" list. :p
Robocop on the other hand is something I'd like to see... not sure if I can though.
Watched The LEGO Movie last night. Great voice acting and very funny, especially if your a LEGO fan or collector of LEGO. I just downloaded the game on my Wii U as well so that's my weekend taken care of.:)
Prisoners with Jake Gyllanhal and Hugh Jackman
Wow what a bleak and interesting movie, it ran for 2.5hrs but didn't seem to drag on at all. Aaron Taylor Johnson (Kickass) was surprisingly great also.
I dont wanna say too much so as to spoil it, but you truly get a sense of despair through out the whole thing.
On to Thor The Dark World later :)
I didn't even realize it was the guy from kick ass!
Sort of spoiler "[When I was watching mine, it cut off at 2 hours and 4 minutes~, when Hugh jackman said "I don't want to have to hurt you]" So I thought the movie had finished. Needless to say I realized pretty quickly after I was missing half an hour. Either way I was wrapped with it :D
When you get the chance you've simply gotta see the last half hour! Just wow!!
I rewatched Silence Of The Lambs recently -the last time i did was about 20 years ago. I failed to see what all the hype surrounding this movie was about. It reminded me of those midday movies the free-to-air stations broadcast
Just saw an advance screening of the lego movie today - hands down, the best movie I've seen in years. Resonates with both young and older audiences and describes exactly what's wrong with adult toy collectors today, and I'm guilty in everyday!! Anyone who's a lego fan or even grew up playing with lego at any stage will love and relate to this movie, two massive thumbs up and the highest recommendation I can give - plus you'll be humming the theme song long after the movie is finished - 'everything is awesome.....!!!!'
I am beyond mad that we had to wait so long to get it here.
Argh! - Extremely jealous man as I've been, like every other Aussie, looking forward to this film since its announcement; it looks awesome, the current tie-in kits are awesome and apparently its theme song reflects this too! :D
Hoping to see it as soon as possible!
AGREED! - Considering we bloody-well made the damn thing!
Really tempted to pirate it.
^ Yeah, bugger cam jobs, and R5 / R6, TS etc. Only the best pirated movies for me :p
Saw Captain America last night, a lot better than what I had expected if you get the chance I would recommend seeing it.
I'll only ever watch a cam rip if it's a movie i cannot wait for, or delayed in our region. This movie is a definite Blu-ray buy for me when it hits the shelves.
As for other rips, i usually wait for a Blu-ray version or a dvd rip if the movie doesn't have any CG or big action scenes in it.
Agreed with the lego love. There were some things that I felt ruined the mood and the flow by trying to give a "reason" for the mix of elements, but at the same time they were well done and executed perfectly and gave some heart to the film.
The film could work without those bits but on reflection I think it was good that they added it in. I don't think I've laughed as much or as often in a non comedy movie, the casting was perfect, the animation brilliant and the zingers a plenty. The wife loved it so much she went and made a small set afterwards.
Might well be my movie of the year, cannot imagine anything but the muppets being anywhere near as enjoyable and fun.
Went to see Captain America tonight, freaking loved it. But I wont say to much just yet, as I know a lot of people are probably trying to keep spoiler free :D
So, Lego & The Captain?
Might see if i can squeeze in a screening on the weekend
