I've already compared the price of a few things between Amazon AU and Amazon US and found the US, including exchange and shipping to still be significantly cheaper.. Amazon AU is still a joke.

Fark. There goes cheap shipping. Amazon.com.au is GREATLY overpriced with drastically reduced range. I wouldn't mind so much shipping to a us address but the bastiches often ship out items one by one, and my shipper has a per parcel rate and changes a great deal extra to combine.
Can anyone think of a better lower cost alternative that shipito.com? I don't know what the market is like, and any competitors
Even ignoring prices Aus won't even get Transformers and I don't expect that to change.
Amazon has been a bit hit-miss lately but it is where I get things like Rescue Bots and other oddities that don't show up here.
As I mentioned down in the GST thread. Amazon is saying they are going to block us from the US and other non-AU based Amazon sites.

The only tiny bit of joy I've taken from this story is in the idiots who are posting "I have a geoblocker service / vpn on my computer, so I'll still be able to buy stuff!!!" without realising that they wont be able to enter an Australian postal address.... :p
It's a sad day for consumers, we are being isolated and treated poorly because of a few vocal idiots. The actions of the few screwing the rest of us over. Amazon au will never have the range or prices that the overseas versions do.
This better not affect book depository.
This is a major reason that these new laws are such a kick in the teeth to rural customers . I've done the vast majority of my shopping online in the last 7 years because I'm so far from actual stores, and it's always worked out cheaper to get something shipped from the US or Japan than from Sydney or Melbourne
Well the only two RescueBots characters my son and I never got were Salvage and Sideswipe. Salvage is $250 on Amazon  and Sideswipe was in stores here but too dear for such a shitty toy so I decided to wait for him to drop in price, but now he goes for about $50 on Amazon too :(
At least they give us some warning I guess.
And guess who's doing the rounds on news sites... moaning about amazon having an advantage, but he misses the point that it's only if the item is available in this country. The ABC news presenter pushed him (Gerry Harvey) on if he will be making his prices more competitive but he wouldn't answer it, wanting to talk about tax instead.
Instead of lobbying the government these dinosaurs should pay attention and change their business model if they want to remain competitive. They may even find that by attracting more customers, including international, to a well organised and maintained website the additional cash would help to subsidise their brick and mortar stores. Then they get the best of both worlds and increase their customer base.
Lowered prices or not, I'm not gonna buy anything from his range of stores... that's for sure.
He can kiss my XXXX
We've taken steps backwards as a country.
Rather than adapt and think of innovative ways to boost sales, they block the competition completely... giving the consumers here significantly fewer choices.
Really ticks me off.
Gerry Harvey only likes the "free market" when it's tilted in his direction.
Wanted to order Titans Repugnus and PotP Punch-Counterpunch ... but then got hit with the reminder that Amazon US no longer ships items to Australia ... and to use the Amazon Au site ... of course which doesn't have these items /sadface *shakes fists angrily*
Good advice. For exclusives that's what I am doing
FYI folks, the exclusive Punch/Counterpunch is now available to ship to Australia via this link.
https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B077ZBCPDV/
Will ship for free if you total more than $50 (buy 2?)
For those who have shipping forwarders or a friend in the US, the Prime Wars Trilogy toys are back in stock - Blast Off - Repugnus - Counterpunch (still pre-order for SEPT 15th, but available through Amazon Australia anyway), for US$25 each.
Plus, Nemesis Prime is no longer an Amazon Prime exclusive, so can now be purchased by everyone (if you can ship to an American address) for US$50.
And if you are worried that we won't see wave 4 Deluxe Novastar here, it is now on Amazon America as well, for US$17, to be released in three days time. Obviously a lot of Americans fear the same, as it has already hit number one, on the top sellers listing for Action Figures.
Amazon have G1 Starscream reissue, prev Walmart exclusive now "AmazonChoice" item https://www.amazon.com/Transformers-...rds=Starscream
I put it in my cart and was told that it wouldn't ship to Australia.
I found this listing on the Australian Amazon
SS Sentry - Aprox $30 + shipping
SS Dropkick - Aprox $30 + shipping
I ordered one of these with a number of other items a couple weeks ago, and completely forgot... as I ended up buying Dropkick and KSI Sentry from a nearby retailer a few days later. :o
When it eventually arrives, it will be up for grabs for anyone local who wants one and can't find one in stores yet.
I just placed an order on Amazon US for Jetfire, Smashdown and Greenlight since they haven't shown up on Amazon AU. I combined them to make shipping a bit more bearable. $225 all up for figures and shipping, but there's another $18 on top of that for US Amazon Prime. Hopefully I can use that US membership to get a few other items when Prime Day rolls around later this month.
I just had a look and Jetfire was listed as out of stock... :(
(it should be back in stock later, but the first shipment must have sold out already)
My Siege Jetfire just shipped.
I ordered the Decepticon Sports Car Patrol from Amazon US. $26 shipped.
https://www.amazon.com/Transformers-...EEQRS5PN1DB7D9
I just typed in transformers jetfire and kept scrolling, sadly amazon's own listing is absent and the others are expensive/US only
I got the feeling that Amazon's next shipment of Jetfire was delayed. My Jetfire has gone from being here around the 24th to having no date. I haven't been charged for him either.
Got Greenlight for $40 AUD using the Prime Membership trial and then the $10 credit for buying through the app.
Hopefully Lancer appears there before my trial is over 😅
I have a new expected delivery date for Jetfire. Should have him in just under a month at the latest.
It doesn't matter... If you are a Prime member in one country, it only counts for that country (items and streaming).... which is really annoying. Fortunately they have been offering free trial membership, and it isn't just for people in that home country. Just make sure you cancel your membership before the first month is up, so that they don't start charging you.
