Does anybody know when the DINO range will come to Aust? Thanks!
its out in Singapore
was checking the net last night and was on MR. TOYS TOYWORLD and found that the death star will be released in October this year, but at a staggering $700. looked on eBay and found a S/H one for $400.
Not sure if anyone's posted this yet, but US store Barnes & Noble ship LEGO to Australia. One of the very few online US stores to do so. And shipping is only $12.95! (a bit more for express of course). Check them out here: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/lego...S&keyword=lego They even have a few older sets.
Out of interest I cut out the barcode from the box of my Kingdoms village mill raid set and took it in to K-mart to see what it would scan as... $11. Good luck if anyone out there can find one still in stock!
Saw Series 7 (Red package) Minifigures at Big W. $4.74 each.
Try target within the next few days an practically get 25% off as long as you buy in even numbers.
Blacktown Big W had all the New Friends sets, and the larger Pharaohs Quest set from last year as well.
No new Minifigs (only wave 4?!).
Marvel Superheroes Lego out at TRU - The Avengers sets, plus the Wolverine/Magneto/Deadpool set. :)
TRU Castle Hill had 1 of each of the smaller sets, but I could not justify the $50 price tag for such small sets.
Same TRU had series 7 minifigs in the 3 for the price of 2 sale.
Has anyone seen the Marvel Superheroes Lego anywhere else yet or is it only TRU so far?
Big W's are definitely cheaper, and the Ballarat one has the Cap/Chitari pack for, the X-Men Helicopter, and something else I can't quite remember... but shit these sets are Toy Story pricing. At best. Don't think I can justify them at all right now.
There's 20% off sales this week at Target which will bring some of the more expensive sets down. Smaller sets are same price as Big W. The Quinjet set is definitely cheaper at $99.
Big W also has the the Cap truck and Wolverine copter in its catalogue so expect it to be in stock there.
But yes, we're getting gouged. Makes me angry at Lego.
I saw Minifigures at Target today.
Also, regarding price, everyone needs to complain to Lego. I've been harassing a senior PR and Communication Manager on Twitter. I have also written a formal complaint via the customer service page on the website.
Won't they blame the retailers for the price gouging?
Big W selling them for $38 is still nearly double the US price, so I do wonder how Lego will respond...
-EDIT-
So LotR sets are now on sale at lego.com (not sure if they will ship here yet, seems like maybe only US and Canada).
Original article.
Prices:
9469, Gandalf Arrives, $12.99
9470, Shelob Attacks, $19.99
9471, Uruk-hai Army, $29.99
9472, Attack on Weathertop, $59.99
9473, The Mines of Moria, $79.99
9474, The Battle of Helm's Deep, $129.99
9476, The Orc Forge, $39.99
I think the Canadian prices will be closer to ours:
Gandalf Arrives $14.99
Shelob Attacks $24.99
Uruk-hai Army $39.99
Attack on Weathertop $74.99
The Mines of Moria $99.99
The Battle of Helm's Deep $169.99
The Orc Forge $49.99
I wonder how they defend those increases considering the two countries have similar currency prices, and same general location...
TRU have a special this week, buy 2 minifigs and get 1 free, so essentially 3 for $10. Series 7 is out there too so grab them there for the best price.
In Big W right now, the Captain America set is on sale to $18.84.
Spotted the LOTR sets, Helms Deep and Uruk Hai Army at Myer today. Only 1 each though so I couldn't take advantage of the Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal today.
Found the some of the new Lego Star Wars in Kmart, including:
Old Republic Starfighter $79
Desert Skiff $49
Jabba's Palace $199
Endor and Yavin 4 planet set $14.95
The first three are all at Target, along the with the Yavin/X-Wing set. Same price for the X-Wing, 95 cents more for the actual sets.
But, jesus, as nice as that Jabba's palace, or even the Old Republic set looked that is some serious price gouging. I didn't realise Lego were making the move from toys to high-end, overly expensive collector only products (that just happen to look like kids toys).
Well after looking at it, the US are paying $0.16 per piece in the Jabba's palace set, and we're paying $0.28 per piece. That's... pretty terrible.
Not a sighting as such, but TRu is selling the Lord of the Rings Helm's Deep set for $180 this week, saving $20.
Thats one expensive set!
I wonder if the smaller sets are out as well?
TRU Penrith had the Helms Deep, Moria, UrukHai Army, Weathertop, Shelob and Gandalf Arrives sets.
Picked up Moria, Shelob and gandalf with the 25% off voucher. Would have gotten helms deep, but it was not part of the 25% off sale.
Saw a fair bit of new stuff at Myer Today: new Cars, 4 x LOTR sets, the VW Kombi ($169), and the new Gungan Sub ($99).

And the one you've all been hanging for:

Big W with have the huge Star Destroyer in their toy catalogue coming up
I knew it. Ill bet it'll land at full RRP though, $699. I ordered mine for considerably less from the USA on May the 4th.
$498, yeah, which is a fantastic price. Full price is $699. On May the 4th, the AU shop.lego.com had it for $560. So if anyone's interested, do grab.
It's pretty much exactly what I paid importing from the USA, but had I known, I would not have gone through the hassle. It's a bit inconsistent, as last year's big Lego exclusive, the Imperial Shuttle, was $448 before and after the sale, which is the same as the full price at lego.com.
Link to page on catalogue. Exclusive to BigW - Limited Stock.
(fixed link)
Dino Range is exclusive to BigW... so no sale prices.
In Big W:
Lego Sith fury class interceptor, no price tag
Lego Malevolance $158
Lego Gungan Sub $88
There were also some Lord of the Rings sets, along with a giant empty space. Probably left like that to make space for the star destroyer set.
Imperial Shuttle on sale $348 in Big W stores (not online).
