I found the head part was the trickiest in the vf171 ... you had to do it in a certain order or it wouldn't move and get force /stressed because it is blocking something

Right shoulder armour the NUNS broke on my first transformation:mad:
This is indeed a nightmare, definitely regrated buying it even at below rrp.
Very nice looking guy but quality of plastic is pissed poor. My first thumbs down for Bandai toys.
I have to say, this is so far my worst valkrie in terms of transformation. I take another VF-25 version 1 any day.
I do not see how I could have broke it as I did not even touch the shoulder piece much at all.
Sorry to hear about the shoulder :(
Was hoping that wouldn't happen to you. The VF-171 strictly stays in one mode for me as I'm afraid it'll snap if I try my luck again.
I am still in shock, all my Bandai toys never had a single issue well....except one long time ago. But for over$100 piece, this has to be my most disappointing purchase from Bandai in years.
Okay, is repairable but still? I will leave it in robot form.
Love the head, is probably one of the best looking heads done so far. I think they choose the wrong plastic to hold the "NUNS" shoulder piece together.
When I look closer it looks like a great piece, but the experience is indeed nightmare for me. I could transform the vf-27 so many times and not break a thing or worry I break anything.
Isamu vf-29 better not let me down.
The Isamu isn't bad though I did fine the left legs don't always attach to the upper fuselage properly and it took me a while to fix that. Other than that though it wasn't too bad.
Yeah the vf171 shoulder totally sux and bring down the rest of the figure , which is very good in design .... have you try to fit the armour part on it ?! ...man it so scary cause it a very tight fit so you have to use a lot of force to get it on and you think it going to snap the arms off cause of the shoulder issue
You didn't get your Yf29 yet??...
hobby search has requested pics, I will snap them and pass it to them and repair it again. I am very doubtful of any positive outcome. Thank god, I am a Gunpla person and used to repairing crap like this.
As long as my vf-29 can transform without breaking like my vf-27, I be real happy chap. Its in my parcel box waiting for me to pick it up today.
Really a shame on the shoulder for vf-171 nightmare.
the Yf29 is a great figure...I transformer it lots of time and it still in great shape so you don't have to worry about it :) you might have to adjust it as it come out of the box miss alighted ..the hands weren't in the right place so the legs and the wings were abit off...
post pic of your fix of the shoulder and tell us what you think is cause the stress ... I try to look at it but don't want to move it anymore ...
Bad CAD design and poor choice of material for that part? I mean seriously this is going to be a movable part, so the joints were not correct. Fix of the shoulder was just gluing the bits back which I have to take it apart now for Hobbysearch hoping they can help. Only hope, I won't hold my breath.
I didn't break the part, it just fell off and I examined it and saw it cracked and broke. I am not the only person either, they really got to QC this.
