Yamato & Bandai Macross Toys

Well.....overall I say the vf-29 Isamu is well worth the purchase. I have transformed it back and forth without any major issues. the shoulder armour was a bit tricky to pop it back into plane mode but not a major deal.

This would be my favorite of the whole series, my only wish is that it followed the vf-27 triple toes for the feet as it would have helped giving more support. the front fins may be a distraction in robot form for its legs movement and maybe it should have followed the vf-27 style.

As for my vf-171, I have given HS a photo of the damaged part. Cross my fingers I get a replacement otherwise, oh well...it got transformed once and only once.

Hobbysearch may felt that I may have forced and broke the part. I explained that the piece actually just dropped off new from the box. I was careful with it. I mean I already read the stories before even attempt to transform it. I had Youtube in front of me as well. But again....oh well if nothing can be done. I live by it but I cannot recommend this toy.

I actually had another part came off but I saw Macrossworld and it was the part where it clip the wings in, so no biggie for that.

the Alto 171 is better but Im still very careful with it and don't play it much at all...well only once transformation! ... that wing clip goes in a certain direction or it will keep falling out

The thing is, I am actually pretty sure that piece was already broken when I took the plane out for the vf-171, so when I start touching those parts it just fell off. They kind of felt that it would have been a major damage if there was a defect but in my case I took it out and I start noticing a black piece dropped out then as I go further I realised it was the NUNS bit that was broken.

But again, I am actually fine if they help me out for free or ask me to pay for the replacement part if I want it and if its not expensive. I think I am okay with that. If they do nothing, I actually have nothing much I can do except email Bandai Japan if possible. But thats about it actually. pretty much I cannot transform it back to plane mode. And to me, thats is an unplayable toy as all my other pieces transformed with no issues.

yeah it annoying ..... all this talking about the vf171 I got my alto out , so here some pics... and man the transformation to robot is so annoying , mainly the cockpit, head area !

and im not going to touch my CF vf171 :p

well seems like the latest update was they going to compensate me half in cost actually more than half, and I kind of feel bad being that its not their fault.

They said they don't have the figure anymore so they are unable to repair it.

that ok then.... at least you got compensated .....

tried transforming it back to plane, and I don't think I can do it without breaking the part again.

Guess I am stuck in gerwalk or robot mode for this guy.:(

im looking at it now ...the whole shoulder piece can come off .... there a screw underneath , it might release the tension also you might be able to shave the round bump or the inside groove of the broke piece ..
