As I'm sure most of you know, the 1988 anime Akira was the movie that basically launched the whole manga/anime boom in the West. This anime also accurately predicted that Tokyo would host the 2020 Olympics. Let's hope that's the only accurate prediction from that movie! :eek: Although the fact that WWIII didn't happen in 1989 is a good sign.

Hey I had that on VHS many years ago. Picked it and Burn Up-W from a garage sale for something like $10.

Haven't even thought of that anime for years. Always did like the intro music and that excellent 1967 Mustang Shelby 500 the main character drove.
