It's like the Oscars. You don't get to vote and that's why it's much more appreciated by the actors, rather than say Teen Choice Award and all that jazz.
Sorry, where is the comparison you speak of? All i see is no comparison :D
Robot Kingdom shipping notice :)
 I don't think its the design of the logo or even the fact that it's on the front of the box that's irritating people, but rather the fact that its covering part of the picture of Megatron. 2 inches higher and it wouldn't be worth mentioning, if it irrtates you cover it with black tape, but where it is, you don't have that option.
It's like comparing young Steven Seagal to old Steven Seagal...

I'd like to see comparison pics w/ MP5 and G1 Megatron.
Or more like a comparison with a Steven Seagal impersonator. :p
Go check out Alfes2010 twitter account, loads of comparison with mp05 & G1 in both bot and alt mode
It's under the media tab https://twitter.com/alfes2010?lang=en
Cheers, aching878. :) I've taken the liberty of compiling the comparison pics here:

Ohmyprimus, where I ordered my Megatron from, says they'll get their stock in what appears to be their one and only batch next week.
Nice to be kept informed of these little things. My brother based in Singapore will pick it up for me, my dilemma is how to have it brought over here, by post or wait till god knows when till I go over for a holiday.
Some very interesting news from PC:
MP-36 - First Batch due mid april - no orange plugs on our stock or tampering due to import permit obtained
Question is how many ? Lol
My son got this for his birthday and I have to say I am really impressed with the look, feel and articulation. The faces also give Megs an extra dimension in terms of playability.
The MP figures seem to just get better and better.
This one looks like he jumped straight out of the G1 cartoon and will speak (with Frank Welkers Megatron voice) any minute. My son hasn't put him down since getting him which is always a good sign.
someone already posted breaking the barrel within the first week, so much for long life.
The barrel is designed to rotate one way a short distance (to center it on the face of the gun). The pics of that break show the barrel contained in the extension suggesting the person is an idiot who tried to pull it off by random twisting and tugging.
Seibertron has a letter from a TF reseller urging caution when using Megatron and even going as far as to say don't use the silencer at all plus they have a bunch of pictures of him in broken states.
https://www.seibertron.com/transform...egatron/37710/
I will be not transforming him if he is shipped in robot mode and if he is shipped in gun mode I will transform him once.
Those pics are the same few that keeps circulating everywhere spinning people into a frenzy worrying about mass QC issues.
I think with all modern day TF toys the key is to take care when transforming, and check out one of the many vid reviews online as a few do it very well showing in detail on how some part needs more care and gotchas.
Alot of fans man handle their toys. When it comes to MP, whilst I love to work out how to transform them myself, I watch videos. Last thing I want to do is break it
A Transformer is 3 toys, a robot, a vehicle or other alt mode and a puzzle. If Takara are making toys that can be broken easily when trying to figure out the puzzle then they have failed.
I have not read instructions in about 5 years and I should not be forced to read them or watch Optibotimus transform it without breakage.
Has anyone else received their MP Megatron from HLJ? I just got mine but it's been double taped. I'm assuming its factory double taped, but I wanted to check if anyone else who bought from HLJ had the same thing? Double tape doesn't really bother me if its from the factory (OT - but I've been getting double tape on all my MP's at least since Ironhde. Am I just unlucky, or is double tape the new norm?) but after all the confusion with the orange plugs, I got a bit worried I may have gotten an altered one. I bought this to keep sealed, so I don't want to open it in case it is unaltered. So thought I'd ask the question.
^Agreed. Especially considering that MPs are explicitly designed for adults. It's the very reason why they come with instructions in the first place. I personally enjoy using instructions. I don't think it's anyone else's business if people want to use instructions or not and I don't think it's good form to make others feel bad just because they want to use them. But if you're stuck on a toy's transformation then I really don't see what's wrong with referring to the instructions. That's what it's for.
I follow the instructions out of my respect for the designers. To me the TT instructions, especially the MP ones have been all around great. They convey the designer's intention on how they should be transformed and show every aspect of the design. And this is also why I feel that Hasbro's crappy instructions (and stock photos as well)are disrespectful to the TT designers' effort.
Got my Megatron yesterday, have transformed to gun and back, and must say for someone to have broken him like the photos being circulated, they must have been using a fair bit of brute force
I don't know why people have an aversion to instructions, for small toys sure, but for high end stuff I always consult the instructions first. of course if the instructions are bad then we have a problem.
Hopefully these early reports of people having trouble, or breaking their toys are only a small percentage, and not a widespread thing. Whenever I see a reviewer or a fan say I will only transform the toy once, due to fragility, paint scraping, difficulty, etc then for me that toy is a failure as a transforming robot toy no matter how good it looks in one mode.
So hopefully this Megs is not like that, otherwise it's 3rd party all the way.
I can understand the appeal of Transformers as puzzles, but I think it's best to follow instructions in order to minimise damage to the toy, particularly with expensive figures like MPs. It's not TakaraTOMY's fault if something breaks because you didn't follow the instructions.
When MP Cheetor first came out, there were people who thought that the legs were misassembled because the ankle joints and blue sections on the calves were in the wrong places - they likely didn't realise that there were steps in the transformation that involved turning the hip assembly 180 degrees and then swinging the legs around to orient them correctly for robot mode.
Just asking if anyone had purchased him from any of the stores like BBTS or TFSOURCE ??
Any issues with orange plugs ?
