My two King Grayskulls and the weapons pack arrived, I was surprised by how big the weapons box is. I was surprised that the box was mailed from Auckland New Zealand!
So what's the deal, is Mattel distributing their toys from New Zealand?
The first times, they came in from NZ. I just tot it was Matty being stupid and sending stuff to NZ and then they redirect it to Australia...
Then I got something from Germany... and that worried me cos I never order from Germany LOL
I assume massive bulk lots are delivered to bases around the world and then shipped out internationally as required.
Since the package was just a plain standard brown box with a 'From New Zealand' sticker on it, I was confused by what it was since I had not ordered anything from there. I kinda suspected it was from Matty but until I opened it I had doubts as I assumed the packaging to be a Mattel box or something like that.
I had a look at the King Grayskulls - One of them has a bit of bad QC on his hair (white 'melted' spots which I assume to be from the shoulder flocking) and bad paint apps on his fist fingers - These are minor as it doesn't look too critical but still annoying. The other seems to be much better but has a bit of a tiny freckle on his face which I hope I can wipe off.
Just got home and who was waiting for me at my front door. My TWO Kin Greyskulls!!! Pure awesome!!!
My army is growing! MOTUC He-Ro and Beast Man just arrived! Thanks to Kup for passing on the details of the guy he pillaged the other week :D
Just got my Grizzlor and King Grayskull... My God, KG's feet are so loose and flimsy! No wonder everybody's been complaining - he barely stands up!
Sorry to hear that Robzy :( I must say that is one of my pet peeves with the line, even when they aren't extremely loose, they're still tricky to balance.
I don't know what's different about making action figures as opposed to Transformers, but i can't help but think a better solution would be a solid ball joint... i guess they don't want to impair the aesthetics though.
It's funny... people have been complaining for about a year now about figures with loose ankles and bobble heads - and I haven't experienced any of these problems! KG is the first figure I have bought from the entire line that has any "issues" at all. Having said that, it's not quite as bad as I first thought. He seems to be standing alright now.
As far as loose ankles and bobble heads are concerned, I haven't experienced any of that, not even with the rejects I got from the Chinese guy and one has a twisted ankle. Yeah they do tip over if you don't balance them right but that can also be due to the design of the joint. It's a small articulated hinge that is carrying the whole weight of the figure.
However in the event that I do get a loose ankle, it seems fairly straight forward to fix if you are careful.
Got the complete 2002 DVD series today!
Great deal too i think, $7.99US + shipping from Amazon, plus it comes with interviews with Mattel & 4H, scripts and PDF comic for unproduced 40th episode!
Have to wait till Christmas to open tho :o
Awesome! Mine should be arriving sometime soon :D
Here is what I received today:
Battle Ram Chariot and Snake Teela

Nice! Is that Skeletor any different or just the regular release?
Same overall color scheme as the regular version but with much lighter colors and the face is more like the green and yellow of MOTUC Skeletor. Some parts also feel more rubbery like his cowl. He doesn't come with the swords.
Overall it is my least favorite of the 'non-armor' 200x Skeletors but it is still pretty decent. The best one by far is still Keldor (with the Skeletor head).
The Battle Chariot is surprisingly impressive and the gimmick works very well but I need to fix up those bright oranges with a bit of a wash. I understand that it's representing fiery parts but it's too 'Hasbro orange' bright. The awesome bit is that the Chariot is so large that I can easily see MOTUC Skeletor naturally fitting in with it.
That's a great price! How much was shipping if you don't mind me asking..?
I've been eyeing this set off for a while... I've actually already got the 1st Season on DVD - bought it ages ago, but stopped buying the rest when they announced the full set.
I actually ordered it with a book for Mum's Christmas present, so my shipping amount would be skewed. But with Amazon you can just go through the checkout, before the final confirm it'll tell you exactly how much it'll cost!
Kronis became..

Trap-Jaw!
http://kupscigar.com/MOTU/trap-jaw2.JPG
It happens across a few pages in the Trap Jaw Icons of Evil Comic.
Skeletor blasts Kronis in the Face, Rips his arm and Jaw off. This was all written by Robert Kirkman of Invincible/Walking Dead fame.
I'm not sure the rules on posting links to downloads CBRs so I'll just say google it.
Picked up Classics Tri-Klops on ebay 30 bucks (including postage). No box, but condition of figure was like new with all accessories, so I think not a bad find. :)
Phew! That's good, you should be perfectly fine and it is a kick ass price.
Here is more on that bad seller for your reference:

Be careful on loose toys from China as this guy seems to change user name every so often.
I've never been a massive He-Man fan but...
I now have an absolutely grander respect for Skeletor now, this is the coolest thing I've heard a character do in a long time! - what a Genesis for the character though!?! :D:D:D

Did you mean story-wise with specific reference to origins of the various characters (e.g. Keldor -> Skeletor) ?
The He-Man.org encyclopedia might be helpful: http://www.he-man.org/encyclopedia/

Thanks to kurdt_the_goat for the heads up on that one.
I have noticed that overall, online information on MOTU is considerably less developed than Transformers. The He-man.org Encyclopedia is very 80s centric with most other eras incomplete or as placeholders. The Grayskull wiki is much better but is still lacking in information.
The thing about the 2000 series is that overall, all the characters are very similar if not identical in concept to their 80s counterparts with some exceptions such as the Snake Men and The Horde. Of course the series is modernized so much of the 80s cheese is is removed (not all ;) ) but the spirit of the original is still there and the series actually develops characters that were never touched upon or neglected in the 80s cartoon.
Cheers dude, any info is good really because, whilst I watched the cartoon as a kid, it never really grabbed me like Transformers did - that being said though I always considered the figures to be cool and Skeletor (both toon and figure) has permanently cemented the coolness of Skeletons, Skeletal characters and all manner of entities from the Darker-side of things within me forever more! :D
(He's probably partly responsible for my infatuation with Bludgeon too! :p)
Cheers dude, I know what you mean because Voltron unfortunately suffers the same, online information wise, which sort of makes me appreciate the TFwiki a lot really.
Well I'm glad to hear that because I remember when my youngest Brother received a 200X Skeletor figure and I thought - Man that is one kickass re-imagining but I was never able to find the cartoon series to watch (Middle of High School :o), so I'm glad that it stays true to the original whilst exploring new areas.
If Transformers wasn't such a priority, I'd consider starting a Skeletor collection :p, maybe even Hordak. :D
No one received their Cyber Monday goods yet? I'm fearful my Battle Cat & He-Man have missed the christmas postage boat :(
'Digitally Relocated' the 200X complete series last night, not the greatest of quality but am really looking forward to sitting down and watching it! :D
