Does the ps3 version need a big patch update? Reason I ask is we are on holidays without wifi or internet as of tomorrow . Don't want to buy an unplayable game for the 2 weeks off :p

After playing some of it I'm sure ROTDS is not canon for either the Movie Universe or the Aligned Universe (WFC, FOC and Prime are the Aligned Universe). It's a unique story and therefore should not be taken as explaining anything in previous canonical games. The previous movie tie in games are also not canon.
If you want to know more about WFC/FOC read the Covenant of Primus where there is no such thing as a Dark Spark.
Aside for story/canon stuff, is the game any good? How would it compare to the movie games for console, and the WFC/FOC games?
I'm enjoying it. It's below WfC and FoC but it's better than the Dark of the Moon game for sure.
A little bit more effort in cutscenes and extra detail in level design would have been a big improvement, but it's still enjoyable. A death match multiplayer would be great too...
The game has been noted on many sites as "the prequel to foc" this I assume refers to the "foc" sections of the game. I havnt read anything from Hasbro as of yet stating it is not (if they have said so please point me in the right direction)
Having played the game, in my opinion this stands true. Sure it may not fit like a glove but neither do the novels.
I own the covenant and I am aware there is no such thing in it. In Saying that though the covenant shouldn't be taken as the be all and end all of the aligned continuity. As Alpha Trion says at the start of the book " this volume will be an editing/arrangement of Covenant intended for a human audience, to help them learn about their galactic neighbors."
the exclusive dlc from ebgames is able to be downloaded as i just downloaded it tonight
It's basically a DOTM/FOC game hybrid. It's not good but it's not bad either.
I love some of the music. I 'Shazammed' a few tunes and bought them on itunes.
I got the game on Wednesday for PS3 and finished it last night, was rather lackluster but am getting in to escalation mode :) just wish I had some reliable partners??? (hint hint) :D
