Does anyone know if eb games/zing sell returned or pre owned pop! vinyl figures? I bought a care bear pop figure for a xmas present and there are scratches and marks all over it. Should there be tape on the box?
Are other figures like this?
It's my understanding Zing does sell items displayed in store out of its box. I don't know about pre-loved Pop! Vinyl figures.
It's totally OK to owning up to purchasing a Care Bear product for one self. We won't judge you too harshly. :D
Have seen some half-transformed Movie Masterpiece (MPM) 'bots on display at ZiNG. It seems a lot of their high-end, in-store items are on display out of the packaging.
You purchased what you thought was a brand new item. Therefore, you are well within your rights to return the item. According to the Australian Consumer Law, goods must be "of acceptable quality - the goods must be safe, lasting, have no faults, look acceptable and do all the things someone would normally expect them to do".
What pisses me off is i asked for another one to replace it and she said that was the last one. But it still says in stock at the store. When I browsed the pop figures (looking for something different) she wanted to leave for lunch, I suspect that there were more of the figures on the shelves and she didnt want to be there in case I found another one. Will be going back to the store and asking for another one, see what happens.
That's really annoying. Perhaps you could ask for a refund?
Something like that happened to me years ago (another store - not ZiNG but I won't mention the name) when I was looking for a sealed copy of a game. The one I had in-hand had been opened, without shrink wrap. The staff member I spoke to instantly claimed it was the 'last one'. I looked a bit more carefully and there was a stack of sealed copies still on the shelf, hidden away.
So there was another one available but seems to be open as box lid opens easily. Think she dropped it as well. Still a bit scuffed on the star. Yellow paint scuffs on outside of box. Might see if i can swap boxes.
I’ve become “that” uncle who is hesitant to buy the kids toys because they have so much damn stuff. I used to get disappointed with clothes and books, but I was never spoiled as much as they are.
Well ive sent the packages to the recipients. Im left with a tenderheart bear... i scruffed of some of the black stuff. Might see if theres another i can send it to or a wishing tree perhaps.
I'm finding I'm burning a hole in my wallet while on leave. I'm better off back at work.
Apparently china have a new rail gun. Not just sifi any more
I didn’t win the Powerball 80 big ones. Means I’ll still turn up here tomorrow.
Kmart is weakening. Target is strengthening. That was the story on the news clip. Kmart is looking to woo back customers to their stores with more frequent price discounting, growing kiddies section & more selective in women's apparel.
I'd throw bung bunga parties. You all are invited.
Fellow TF fan Michael Burley's little girl is very sick and will need money to help with her ongoing treatment for the next 2 years. Please donate if you can.

Instead of handing out those lucky red packets of money (lai se?) this CNY, I be giving a personalised name licensed beach towel. TF for the boys & MLP for the girls. See how well that goes.
Pretty stoked David Guetta made an effort to join the boards just recently. Either that or Sean says hello.
And the towels? Were they wrapped with them :D
Why don't some (active) members on this board update their location if they move interstate or beyond? Is it in the too hard basket? It makes B/S/T that little more arduous.
The Language (other than English) thread is closed for "review" so can't post there.
I heard today that learning another language may help stave off dementia later in life.
It was good while it lasted, especially the banter & on occasion the inappropriate conversation topics. You guys & girls have been great to interact here on the boards & being good sports too. :)
I've never been one to be serious or carry an in depth conversation. Lately, I've jumped one too many sharks and it just ain't worth the trouble moving forward.
Wishing members good health, lots of prosperity & landing that TF holy grail you've been searching for.
Farewell & good bye.

I recently binge watched a Swedish TV scifi drama series and I've got Swedish on the brain. :) On one hand it's funny to listen to a language that, to me, sounds like every word has jumped out of an Ikea catalogue (:D), but there are also elements that I find quite fascinating. Swedish is of course a Germanic language like English, but it's a North Germanic language whereas English is West Germanic. There are striking similarities with English yet it's still incredibly different, unlike comparing English with other West Germanic languages like German, Dutch, Frisian etc. where there are striking similarities everywhere. Swedish has isolated "pockets" of similarity but then it's still mostly different, at least lexically speaking. Grammatically it's still quite similar to English (not surprising given our Germanic grammar engine).
Swedish is a direct descendant of Old Norse whereas English is descendant from Old English but has been greatly influenced by Old Norse thanks to the Vikings. It's also really interesting listening to a tonal European language. Tonality is something that we more commonly hear in some East Asian languages like Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Lao, Hmong etc. Tonality does exist in languages outside of this region but it doesn't seem to be as prevalent.
English doesn't have tone but it does have stress, and there are isolated examples of where a shift in stress can change the meaning of a word, usually between its declension.
e.g.
subject (n.) VS subject (v.)
"Please don't subject the students with meaningless work in this subject."
Notice the difference in where the stress falls in the word "subject" in the first and second instance. We place the emphasis on the first syllable when it's a verb but then shift that stress to the second syllable when it's a noun. Tone doesn't matter so much in English but stress does. This is something that native speakers of unstressed languages (e.g. Japanese) can have difficulty with, and similarly when English speakers learn an unstressed. As a Japanese teacher in Australia I'm frequently hearing Anglophones stress out their pronunciation when speaking Japanese when they really shouldn't - this tends to happen with beginning students; my more experienced students have learnt to reduce or eliminate their verbal stress when switching to speaking Japanese (well, most of them :p). I'm sure that those of you who are teaching English in Japan must experience the reverse.
Anyway, here is a video of Swedish actress Lisette Pagler. It's a really interesting language to listen to! :D And it's given me a better idea on how to hopefully more accurately pronounce the name of stuff at Ikea. :p ;)
Food for thought...

Really addictive viewing! I just wish that I could find Season 2 on DVD.
So there was a virus on my computer. It has been wiped and new hard drive installed. Feel like I need to change all my passwords now.
