Reject Shop Altona Gate has a single Black Series Ahsoka Tano 6-inch figure $10. Was gonna take her home but my conscience slapped my face real hard. It said "Don't do it. She ain't worth the 10 minutes of fun". Went home empty handed.
Chadstone Myer has twelve of the Black Series Darth Vader 40th Anniversary Legacy Pack at discount for $60ea.
It's so ridiculously overpriced, I know they did upgrade the Vader mould but the rest of the set is just some plastic and cardboard, I got mine at 60% off at TRU, I think low $30's, I also got two of the other figures for 50% off and then got Luke the other day at the reject shop for $10, slowly but surely I'll get it complete the cheapest way possible :D
The only other figure that was re-tooled is Leia. The rest are standard reissues of their Black Series versions.
Toyworld Watergardens (VIC) has Black Series 6-inch figures for $13. Rose, Canto, Lando, Jaina Solo etc
Reject shops have newer back black series figures... price has gone up to 12 bucks each.
Still very reasonable and well worth the purchase.
Runaway Bay Big W has the new Rio Durant (4 arms) 3.75 Wave for $12 each
for those in the Sydney CBD, David Jones has opened up the "Level 9" Kids Level and they have an Millennium Falcon Interactive Display to play with as well as a wall of Star wars Funko POPs with 3 or 4 Chase Porgs there currently
Any suggestions for where to get a Black Series Zuckuss without paying crazy ebay prices?
Disney Store in the US have him: https://www.shopdisney.com/zuckuss-a...hasbro-1490876
Downside is shipping is like US$50. Ridiculous.
Hopefully he'll come down in price as he's made more available. I've heard he's a shared online exclusive (eventually). I just bit the bullet and was able to get one sent loose for cost from someone at The Fwoosh. Still ended up being about $60ish though.
Eastland Myer has a few of the Black Series Darth Vader 40th Anniversary Legacy Pack at discount for $30ea.
Toyworld werribee plaza has the black series legacy line in, boba fett, luke in pilot suit, ig88 and...bosek or whatever his name is?
$40 each, I took one of the first 3 I mentioned
I agree.
I'd hate to be a Black Series completionist, having to to buy the same figure in 3 or 4 different packages.
The reissue Luke in X-wing gear figure has new face printing, apparently. Prefer boxed to carded as you can display them loose or in package. :) The upcoming Scout Trooper release will probably sell out fast.
Yeah haven't seen it in person yet but there are reviews comparing the two up already. Nicer eyes, but hoping that with it being an old sculpt there are better Lukes to come in terms of likeness.
Will be good to get some of the later waves updated though, as someone who wasn't actually collecting then the first few figures like Pilot Luke did seem to be a better quality than the majority of the line.
I'd like to think those people enjoy that aspect. I used to be a completionist for a few lines but it made me feel trapped. Amazingly freeing and much more enjoyable to be able to pick and choose and build a collection that is important to me.
Toyworld Fremantle has 6" Black Series figs for $13. Nothing particularly exciting tho.
TLJ Rose (#55), Poe (#53), Kylo (#45), and Maz (#49)
Edit: And Praetorian Guard (#50)
The Reject Shop restocking 6 inch Black Series figures # 60-65. $12 ea.
Good for army building Jawa.
Means more Han Solo shelf warming.
I cannot find a thread to perfectly fit my Star Wars toy comment so this will just have to do. I came across an ice-cream tub of my original Kenner 3 3/4" Star Wars figures recently and one thing it reminded me of was their smell.
These toys, both back in the day and even now, have a distinct plastic scent which, due to association, I love. But I've noticed the few recent Hasbro equivalents I've purchased are practically odorless. Is it just me?
A dozen or more figures sealed for years in the one container could contribute to it. However, I remember even just one figures smelling long after removal from its blister pack, having been standing on display shelves.
I think there is a small to whatever plastic they used back then. The rest of my experience comes from the importance of smell to memory, especially of formative experiences, as this dates back to me being 6-8 in the late 70s. :)
Black Series retail distribution has gone to shit in this country. Myer Sydney City never has any (they should given it's a flagship) nor some other one's I casually frequent. TRU is long gone. It's become a bit of a pain.
I said I wasn't going to pre-order from TLTC anymore and just wait to buy in stock items but some like Dengar and Lando (Skiff) are sold out at the pre-order stage. So I made a pre-order for that wave from Dorkside toys (big US online retailer) and they have cancelled my order because Hasbro wouldn't give them more stock. Now I'm stuck trying to source from a number of channels to get up to date.
^ You'd certainly hope the Seller packs well given the pretty penny to ship from the US.
^ They have 100% feedback on ~2,000 reviews and I requested extra care in shipping given the distance it will travel. That's about all I can do and just hope for the best.
