Just saw Jurassic World, if you have seen JP then you don't need to see this as it's a copy and paste of the original.
It really felt like 1 mashed with 3 to me, the way I-Rex kept hunting down the main cast like the Spino did. They also did that hide while the I-Rex sniffs thing way too often. Probably should have removed/scaled back the military stuff too. It really felt like a rewrite to tighten up the script would have gone a long way.
Got a tad jokey in the wrong parts, clashes with the tone of the chaos at the end. But that seems to be the thing to do these days, the original chose it's moments better.
I did like the Rex/Raptor wombo combo. Seeing the OG Rex from JP was the highlight of the movie.
I thought it was pretty good, possibly the best Jurassic Park movie since the original.
You could argue, quite rightly, that you've 'seen it before' with the previous three movies - there's only so many ways you can do 'dinosaurs run amok' before it starts to get repetitive - but I think the writers were aware of that and wrote it into the script, hence the references to static/declining park attendance and the need for a new attraction in the form of Indominus rex.
The paramilitary aspect wasn't overplayed to me; it makes sense that there would be a small army on standby in the event of a dinosaur escape.
Finally, let me say that I for one am glad that the 'mistake' of Jurassic Park 3 was 'corrected' with the Tyrannosaurus fight :)
Watched Jupiter Ascending last night.
What a steaming pile of what the hell!!!!
I think the closest to it are known as the utah raptor
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utahraptor
Though thats my opinion any way
There's a wonderful moment in Jurassic World where concerns of the inaccuracy of the dinosaurs is addressed.
Pure Summer blockbuster, executed excellently and well worth the popcorn.
How it should of ended take on jurassic world

I saw Terminator Genisys last night. I have to say it was amazing.
If you dump T3 and T:S and just take the first 2 and this one it would make a good trilogy.
They left a good opening for a sequel (spoiler: there is an end credit scene), although I don't think they will because of all this needless hate it's getting.
I wouldn't call it needless, but each to their own.
For me the Genisys frustrates me because it makes the time travel element utterly pointless.

I watched the new Terminator also. To steal a line from Django, it was a good bit of fun.
30 Rock has ruined me for Alec Baldwin in other movies. Every time he spoke in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation it seemed like a setup for a Jack Donaghy line.
Saw Jurrasic World and Terminator Genesys on Sunday.
Japan is behind in the movies, by a lot.
Jurrasic World was fun and there was some nice little bits of referral to the other movies that I liked. BUT I found it hard to like all the characters, except for the billioniare guy and GOTG guy.
The kids were just annoying. One a whiney wussbag and the other just douche and the Aunt, just really doesn't have enough connection to make me believe she's that concerned about them. To top it off in the ridiculous emotional levels, was when Aunt was talking to Mum, telling her annoying 1 &2 are with her assitant mum syas "But this is supposed to be a family trip" Yet Mum just shipped the kids off for a week..... Then blah blah blah throwaway scene of kids talking about parents breaking up.. Where did that come from?
In the end, I found the kids an irritation. But the rest of the movie was cool. I would have been happy if the kids just got lost and didn't say anything, and the movie proceeded like that.
So, zero feelings, but cool Dinosaur action. 3/5
Terminator was great! I really dug it. I loved the way it starts and looks a lot like the first terminator and then things go a bit whacky. Sure the time travel shenanigens kinda messes with stuff, but, time travel always messes with stuff. Arnie was great! Would watch again.
Good fun and worth a watch if ya like 1 & 2. 4/5
Both films, 3d not required.;)
just watched pixels thought it was good for a laugh worth it i say. dont listen to the critics, or it could have just been the four smirnoffs i had while watching it...........
Bear in mind that non-Japanese movies are technically foreign language films in Japan, and it does take time to prepare subtitled and dubbed translations prior to release in cinemas. I suspect that the dubbing takes longer.
IMO Japan releases foreign language films better than Australia. Dragonball Z Resurrection 'F' debuted in Japanese cinemas on 18/4/2015. It didn't hit Australian cinemas until 6/8/2015; 110 days after Japan. The general release of Jurassic World in the U.S. was 12/6, and it premiered in Japan on 5/8, or 54 days after the U.S. That's approximately half the time it took to release DBZ:RF in AU cinemas! And to make things worse, most cinemas here only screened that movie dubbed. It was a massive pain in the diodes to find the one cinema in Sydney that was screening it in Japanese, and they only had a measly two session times. I'm assuming that you were able to find screenings for Jurassic World and Terminator Genesys in English.
But then you have the live action Attack on Titan movie, which came out in Japan last month and came out in Australia today. But it's only being screened in select cinemas, and it's only until 7/10. That's right, this movie's only being screened here for one week. And I don't know how many of these sessions are dubbed or subbed or what...
While I do understand the frustration with the lag time that Japan experiences in receiving foreign language films, realistically most countries experience some lag with their own foreign films. But IMHO, Japan tends to handle their foreign films a lot better than Australia.

Fun Fact 1: Watanabe Ken, the Japanese voice actor for Age of Extinction Drift, did not dub himself over in the Japanese dub version of Transformers: Lost Age. Drift was instead dubbed by anime voice actor Mizu'uchi Kiyomitsu. I suspect that it was because it was cheaper to use an anime voice actor rather than an international film star. :o I think that this is rather common practice. e.g. the German dub actor for Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't Arnie himself, but German voice actor Thomas Danneberg (hah, they couldn't even get an Austrian voice actor to dub Arnie :p). Which leads me to...
Fun Fact 2: The Japanese dub voice for Arnold Schwarzenegger is Genda Tesshō. That's right, when you're watching Arnie dubbed in Japanese, you're hearing the Japanese voice of G1 Convoy and Omega Supreme (as well as the original Galaxy Force voice for Primus) ;) Which leads me to...
Fun Fact 3: Genda Tesshō also does the dub voice for Optimus Prime in all the Japanese dubs of the live action Transformers films. This must be a real treat for Japanese G1 fans, the equivalent of say having Peter Cullen voice Optimus Prime in an English language dub of The Headmasters.
I watched Mad Max Fury Road today
It was terrible.
Mad Max Fury Road was my favourite film of all the ones I saw at the movies this year, but it does seems to be one of those films that's very divisive.
Haven't quite come up with a top five of the year, but it would include four of these: American Sniper, Imitation Game, Ant-Man, Spy, Mockingjay pt2, and SW Force Awakens.
While it had some wonderful visuals & set pieces, you could have quite easily removed the character of Max from the movie, replaced him with Betty White and his absence would still go unnoticed.
The story served no purpose, & couldn't have as there wasnt one [Run away. Stop. Head back] while some moments left me wondering if Miller had pulled off the con of the decade with his all flash and no substance method of film making.
And people bash Bay for making films with nothing but car chases and explosions  :p
I like a good chase scene in a movie and this whole movie was the best car chase ever! And sure Max's role was not that important but as someone that's never seen any of the previous Mad Max movies I didn't care. It was Furiosa's tale and she was fantastic. It was a very visual movie and the visual storytelling was top notch. Most enjoyable time I had I a cinema all year.
Other than in the first, Max is barely a character. He's used as a vessel for telling interesting stories of wasteland survivors, so I have no issues of his "redundancy" in fury road.
Good year overall.
I can't get my partner to watch Mad max once, she gave up at the beginning says it does not make any sense, but I have watched it 3 times at home. Max says very little, his story is told by his actions. Many say it doesn't have a story, but it does. It helps to watch it a couple of times, it comes across as simple but becomes something more when you add up all the little nuances of each character. Honestly its more than just an action flick.
I really enjoyed Jurassic World and Age of Ultron the most.
Do yourself a favour - watch the original Mad Max from 1979. Now that is raw Aussie film-making at its best. Sure some of the special effects (if you'd call them that...) are a little simple compared to today's standards but the cars & the action... Phwoarr!!!

Sherlock: The Abominable Bride was really good. Its a shame that yeserday was the only time too see it in Australian Cinemas (with recliners ;))
I concur wit your view, Mad Max was an action movie done right, simple story line free of the usual convoluted poorly written plot. Also in a franchise named Mad Max we know after the titular character is not going to get killed, so focusing on the Furiosa and the other characters gave the film some real tension.
I also like that it didn't get bogged down in nostalgia line most sequels this year.
probably my favourite film that came out this year, my second would be Ex Machina.
I don't, he's great at directing action, I just wish he could do it without the porny shots and frat boy humour also hiring a few more writers to go over the scripts for his films wouldn't hurt.
Oh wow, so to no surprise at all the trailer for the World of Warcraft film is even more embarrassing at imax than I thought possible, but made better by the fact that it's followed up with a video by the director/some actors in it explaining "No seriously it's a good film we have many computers and orc".
Meh, it looks like Warcraft, so I'm happy.
Watched Spotlight the other night, very powerful movie and should pick up the Oscar
Watched IRon Giant. It was and still is great.
Who is looking forward to Cloverfield 2?

Deadpool <3
Couldn't agree more
Deadpool is bloody awesome !!!!
Took 7 friends to see it today! Will post pics as I have a Deadpool shirt on and one of the young guys is wearing a full Deadpool costume!
I'm a die hard Deadpool fan so I was primely positioned to have a giant nerd-whinge about anything that was massively out of character.
You know what - THEY F'ING NAILED IT! AWESOME FRICKEN MOVIE! SEE IT - SEE IS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Loved the movie, but there were far fewer action scenes than I was anticipating. The ones we got were cool and seeing deadpool fight like wolverine (in close, not worrying about damage).
The movie was graphic but not gratuitously like it could've been.
The most disappointing thing? The 6 kids under 10 there watching it with their mums. What the hell is wrong with those parents?
I really hope fox don't lose the X-men and pals rights, hit or miss I think they make the most comic book-y movies. Only they would be desperate enough to green-light Deadpool, bless them.
The only issue I have is that they used my engagement ring idea and now I'm not sure what to do, I was weeks from proposing too! ARRGH.
