apparently, these will be distributed digitally as well.

There has been a dissapointing lack of the mentioning of BluRay in most if not all of these announcments from Madman.
I'm trying to find that site that lists blu-ray submissions for approval, wherever that was (if you recall it gave us the first hint of us getting Prime S1 on blu-ray). That should tell us, and that announcement for Prime was a bit later, but this time I have that horrible feeling that we're not going to get blu-ray, which is just a damn shame, and shortsighted from Madman. Again.
If I have to buy it on DVD, I will, but I'd rather buy blu-ray, and I'm happy to admit I don't mind paying extra, so charge away Madman, just make the bloody things!!
armada season 2 - Jan 15
I saw the completed G1 boxset at JB. I like the new art on the back of the box, but Rodimus is oddly huge in the crowd.

Well, you just answered that question for me :)
The really annoying thing too is that there's literally no wriggle room on price either, as what you see there is often what the retailer has had to pay for it too, there might only be $5-7 profit per unit in it for JB in this instance. :(
It's this that has prevented me from buying most of their offerings, anime-wise, including the now out of print individual Japanese G1 Boxset releases, even with the assistance of my Brother's employee discount at JB HiFi. :(
(One can literally import the same things, postage inclusive, at half the price of what Madman offers )
I questioned Madman on facebook: (16 Sep)
"Hi Madman, any idea on a release date for transformers prime season 2, 3 and predacons rising on Blue Ray in Australia? It's all available on Amazon and at those prices extremely tempting. i'd much prefer the madman release though."
Madman's response: (1 Oct.)
Quote:
Hi Dallas - all the titles you're chasing are scheduled for release in 2014.
In the meantime, if you attend any of our conventions, get over to our booth and ask for a deal on the Season Two Volumes.
We never like to lose a customer to the USA!
It's a bit dissapointing that these won't even be out in time for Christmas.
Yep, that's Madman nowdays. If you're not a con goer, or a cosplayer, they don't care. They actively seem to not want you as a customer. I far prefer Hanabee as a distributor.
