IMHO the G1 comics are a lot better than the cartoon. Far less campy and a lot more mature. They're doing a lot of reprints now. IDW are reprinting the Time Wars soon - that's a must-have for G1 fans IMO.

I like to think of the G1 toys as mix of cartoon/comics/toyline.

Personally I don't use Classics as G1. I usually see them as the "alternative G2" - i.e.: an evolution from G1 after the Battle of Klo, as per their portrayal in the Classics comics. To me, my G1 toys are G1 and Classics belong in the Classics universe and never the twain shall meet.

And there's your other problem. Some of the original crews of the Ark and Nemesis may never be made as Classics/Universe/Henkei and another reason why I keep them separate.
