Ah this is why i wanted a different perspective, they never did bother to look him up.

Just because current research denies that nothing moves faster then the speed of light doesn't make it so.
We are using physics and its denominations to measure the physical universe. But no matter how deep we go it will always be from the perspective of humans. We had to invent extra dimensions of space in order to make the math work.
I'm not saying Einstein got it wrong. I'm just saying that given how young (in the scheme of things) physics is that it would be premature to take current theories of gospel as they only work from our perspective.
Just my opinion...I'm wrong again, aren't I?
There is actually a really good series about this called 'Wonders of the Universe'.
No you're not wrong. In fact you're dead right. However, we can speculate and dream and hypothesize whatever we want. Fact is, at the moment science tells us that nothing moves faster than the speed of light. Sure this may change in the future as we learn more (etc), but at the moment we are "limited" (?) by what we know.
I am open to all possibilities - I definitely think there is more to know and we currently don't understand enough, but I also draw a line in the sand between fact and fiction (science and fantasy). No doubt this line will move over the course of my lifetime...
Without "the line," conversations like this become boundless and you can dream up whatever you like.
I understand the need for 'The Line'. Without it we would branch out into Science Fiction without studying the facts. So I concede that in the present tense nothing moves faster then light in a vacuum.
Seeing as how faster then light travel is not permitted by Einsteins Theory of Relativity the only way another form of intelligence life could get here was either by developing at a faster rate then us or by bending time/space. Perpetual Motion is ruled out as it goes against the Conservation of Energy rule. So where does the power come from to get them from point A to point B?
Second if intelligent life has been visiting us then why are they so secretive? They would have the power to destroy us if need be. Why not say hello?
I knew it! We'll become pets or food for a race higher then our own.
I think I'd like being a pet: lounge around the house, crap where i want, Demand food and not have to do anything..sounds sweet
I remember reading somewhere that if we are visited by aliens, they'd think dogs & cats run the place, and we are the lowly servants.
I have a cat and it sure feels that way
Maybe they don't make contact due to that Star Trek Prime Directive thing - no interfering with other species (I'm not a trekky but I'm sure its something like that).
Power could come from dark matter, WIMPs, or dark energy itself perhaps. Or quantum fluctuations - particle/antiparticle pairs that pop into existance for a short time and annihilate each other. (These also form the basis of Hawking radiation which someone else has mentioned already in this thread).
Even though these things might exist, harnessing them as a source of propulsion power is still on the other side of "the line" in the realms of science fiction.
See, I can cross my own line from time to time. :D
Most science begins in the mind as an idea or a dream. So it could be said that Science branches from Science Fiction so i'll grant the crossing of line.
The not interfering with other races makes sense but why travel light years just to watch? Unless we are a reality show as depicted in south park.
Anti-matter could be a source of power though harnessing it would be a problem.
Also food. I don't think their are many opportunities for intergalactic drive thrus though if a race is advanced enough to travel that far i guess they would have worked that out.

is this a hoax?
I've never seen the value in fish. They just swim back and forth and then become suicidal and jump out of their bowl.
And then there is the stik insets who even the cats bored with. They look like aliens and just sit their swaying
It seems like another generic report on the incident at Roswell. It doesn't really go into anymore detail then has previously been released. The Truman video down the bottom was cut to show what they wanted to show and he seemed to be making a joke about the saucer thing.
I once heard something about the alien autopsy video that came out of Roswell that was evidence it was a fake but I can't remember.
I've always had an interest in this sort of thing. I've still got a whole heap of UFO documentaries on my old VHS tapes that I taped of TV back in the 90's and early 2000's. You don't see any of those type of documentaries on TV anymore :( I remember the Roger Moore KGB UFO doco's, the one about the Egyptian alien was interesting.
You guys are aware that what crashed in Roswell was part of the then top secret Project Mogul. The US airforce were probably thrilled to have the alien story as a cover.
What's Project Mogul? Did I spell that right?
Fish are relatively cheap and low-maintenance pets. They're good for beginners or people who don't have the time for higher maintenance pets like cats and dogs and lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals and fruitbats and large chuhuahuas and killer rabbits etc. ;)
Killer Rabbits...I can see the value in them!! I actually have a funny story about a killer rabbit. I'll share it when I find out if it's classified or not.
Fish either swim back and forth or become suicidal and jump out of their tank.
And I've never had much lack with breakfast cereal; for some reason I always have to replace them.
