lol Why don't you like Pixel Dan?

I don't even really know why - he just induces rage in me. I suspect I may be annoyed by his irrational enthusiasm about just about everything, no matter how insignificant or lame or even bad. If I ever feel the need to watch one of his videos, I have to mute the sound and skip the bits with his face.
I, for one, Think Pixel Dan and Toyguru would be an adorable couple.
annoying.
but Adorable.
Scott's Mighty Spector has this on his wrist band (it was pointed out over on the Org)...

Talk about Sex symbols. Huh? Huh? Anyone? ;):D
I still can't believe people are gonna buy multiples of this thing.
Anyone interested in MOTUC Slush Head?
http://www.he-man.org/forums/boards/...=1#post3022372
$30 + shipping to you (if applicable).
Do any of you have the greyskull stands? Do they have pegs for the figures feet?
I have 3 sets and they are horribly designed. They can barely keep the figure standing even with the pegs (which they do have). They are also incredibly awkward to display and take much more shelf space than they should. Their 'linking' ability is also pretty horrible.
It's cheap enough to make it worth buying one set to try it out as the paint finish on the Grayskull stands is actually pretty good but that is the only up side to them.
The Snake Mountain stands are horrible beyond believe and even more useless so avoid at all costs. They really cheapened out on the paint job for the final product so not even that makes them worthwhile.
I pray they don't stuff this one up - he was one of my very first MOTU figures.

I never received this email but it does look good.
I am actually expecting problems and stuff ups since that seems to be the theme for the this year.
Still. Mekanenck.
Sadly I'm POP fan and haveta hang in till Glimmer is made at least but I think a few fans are gonna be jumping ship as soon this guy shows up.
I assume that some one has a Stinkor on their way to them, I'd be very interested in thoughts once he's in hand on well, his hands :p I really wanted Stinkor, being one of the two MOTU figures I owned as a kid, but was saddened by the for arm fiasco. I would like to know if it's as bad as I feel it is.
Got the paint and I am both anticipating and dreading the arrival of Stinkor.
I will be needing to remove his forearms and hands and attempt to paint over the white skunk stripe and repaint it on the other side...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...Comparison.jpg
The left is the original 4H design and the right is what Mattel did by 'purposely' reversing the arms. Pretty cool huh?
I'm not sure if I want to customise Stinkor when he gets here.
I did swap King Hiss' shoulders...but this seems like a bit more work....
I'm definately changing mine when it gets here. Changing the plastic around is just heat-pop-swap. I'm not sure how much painting I will be doing, especially since the joint in the shoulder is white and it shows in the black armpits.
This could be useful:
http://he-man.us/Innovations/MOTUC-C...ngStinkor.html
I think I'd try to remove the black paint, Rather than cover it up, but great link Kup!
Also it would make more sense to remove and switch the hands while the forearms are detached rather than at the end. I'm not sure if I'll be doing this or not - I'll decide once I have Stinkor in hand. I won't be doing any painting or unpainting though - I'd rather the stripe just be on the wrong side than have a home-painted toy.
I did it too. It was somewhat complex due to the shoulders actually being 'correct' from an engineering point of view (It wasn't an assembly error but rather the Mattel engineer who screwed up while converting the 4H sculpt to action figure).
Here is a guide from the same author as the one for Stinkor:
http://he-man.us/Innovations/MOTUC-C...KingHssss.html
Well, i sort of followed my own pattern to swap King Hiss's shoulder, that I can't honestly recommend in good conscience. Basically I used the microwave rather than boiling water. when the plastic was pliable enough i sliced through the shoulder joint, pried off the shoulders, swapped them around, then popped everything back on.
I fixed 2 king hsss'... the first with the crack and swap method, the internal parts are slightly different so that had to be fixed, can't even remember if I swapped them over or cut the long peg down. Cracking figures is a lot of fun, but can be dangerous and the finished product is never quite the same... to me anyway. The second time I just cut the peg holding the shoulder and swapped the pieces over... didn't even bother glueing the peg back. The second is the method I would use again ... cut it at the back of the shoulder.
I was just having a quick look on the online portion of Channel 7's PLus7 or whatever they call it on my PS3, and I spied and episode of MOTU from the 80s!! Episode 43 I think it was.
Howsabout that hey??
Dragon Blaster Skeletor!
http://i853.photobucket.com/albums/a...r_Email_05.jpg
Very excited for DB Skeletor.
And the Alacala head from Demo-Man and the harness from the first release Skeletor would look awesome on that body
Very nice - I like the new touches to the Skeletor buck. My only issue (and I understand why they did it from a moulding POV) is that considering it's Dragon Blaster Skeletor, Skelly's dragon can't blast anything without blowing off his own teeth (but he's removable - very cool if that means he detaches from the back armour and is a dragon accessory a la Cringer.) I have a fondness for vintage DBS and this has lived up to it, including the 'real' chains.
(Wow - in two posts it will be my five thousandth...)
I Like DB Skeletors new Booties! The chain is pretty cool, but I will say this, Let's hope Skeletor has trained that thing well, coz his head is within MUNCH distance!
Was there an equivalent He-man as well?
The equivalent He-Man was Thunder Punch. The corresponding vintage 'leader' toys went:
1982. He-Man and Skeletor.
1984. Battle-Armor He-Man and Battle-Armor Skeletor.
1985. Thunder Punch He-Man, Dragon Blaster Skeletor, Hordak, She-Ra, Catra.
1986. Flying Fists He-Man, Terror Claws Skeletor, Hurricane Hordak, Starburst She-Ra, Scratchin' Sound Catra.
1987. Buzz Saw Hordak, Bubble Power She-Ra, Shower Power Catra.
1988. Laser Power He-Man, Laser Light Skeletor.
1989. New Adventures He-Man, NA Skeletor.
1990. Battle Punch He-Man, Disk Of Doom Skeletor.
1992. NA Thunder Punch He-Man, Battle Blade Skeletor.
I've been catching up with the old MotU cartoon for a while there, I haven't seen it since I was a kid. Very cheesy but fun. :D
There are 49 eps. up so far:

I have started to fix the 'Pretty cool, huh?' Stinkor reversed arms. The pins were much easier to remove than anticipated but then I discovered that the extra 200x Stinkor head had crappily applied paint on his head
I had to fix his eye brows and nose which one side had an excess of white paint making it thicker and changing his expression to something weird rather than menacing. Also the head stripe 'leans' to one side so it doesn't exactly run straight to the back of his head..
From the massive paint omissions in Horde Prime, to these defects with Stinkor, is there no Official toy company that cares about quality and a good customer experience anymore? Very frustrating.
I was chatting about good stuff from the 80s with a friend and I nudged the conversation onto He-man and Transformers. Then he joked about the name He-man.
Any info around as to how/why the name "He-man" was settled upon (Aside from the obvious manliness (times two) and muscles)? :p
Roger Sweet was into bodybuilding and thought He-Man was a good generic name like Action Man, so the character could be (and do) anything. As long as it was manly. His original pitch to the Mattel bigwigs was the He-Man Trio, the 'three' Vykron toys being released this week at SDCC:
http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/5016/vyrkon03.jpg
http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/9898/vyrkon02.jpg
http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/3241/vyrkon01.jpg
Original pitch -> Emiliano Santalucia's interpretation -> Final Vykron toy.
Re: The SDCC revelations so far...
Granamyr is shite and not worth even a fraction of $80, but the Great Unrest Weapons Pak is brilliant. Also, I love the way that they've turned the nadir that is Spector into something brilliant by making him UK comics Horde Prime.

That list's not real, Fatbot. Last year they accidentally posted the list, then tried to cover it up by posting 'fake reveals' like this. This year they've just continued the trend for fun and to generate interest. Song Master would be Songster: http://io9.com/5901792/meet-he+mans-...buddy-songster The previous lists were:
January: Glimmer™/Rio Blast™
February: Clamp Champ™/Plundar®
March: Hydron™/Spinerella®
Club-Exclusive Figure: King Miro™/He-Man 2.0™
I'd be happy with any of the monthlies, but both those Club Exclusives are awful - they have to have something better than those two if they want to sell subscriptions. Song Master, however, would be awesome. :p
Oh my god! that guy has a tank for a face - A Tank For A Face!!!:D
That's some cool history though behind the line, I never knew about the original pitch & such so these sorts of figures being released kind of hit me on that vestigial level. ;)
Um... I assumed this too was a joke but people are taking it seriously. Castle Grayskullman...
(If it is real, the boots and Grayskull flag swords are great.)

MOTUC “Create a Character” Contest Winner Revealed
Posted by Admin on July 13th, 2012
He-Fans and She-Ravers,
After almost one year and over 1,300 entries, we have a winner of our Masters of the Universe® Create a Character Contest!
During the Mattypalooza fan panel at SDCC it was revealed that “Castle Grayskullman,” created by Daniel Benedict, was chosen as the top entry and will be made into an actual figure available this fall as part of the 30th Anniversary line.
The contest gave fans the opportunity to create a new MOTUC character based on bucks from existing 6” figures. It was the perfect chance for them to let their creativity shine.
The panel of eight judges included members of Mattel’s marketing, entertainment, packaging, and design departments. They evaluated each entry, looking for concepts that had an original name and look, used approximately 50% shared parts, were easily translated into a toy, and fit into the world of MOTU. Daniel’s “Castle Grayskullman” wowed the judges, cleverly incorporating details from the vintage Castle Grayskull® Playset.
The big announcement was made during the SDCC fan panel, where new art created specifically for Daniel’s concept was also revealed. In addition, Daniel will receive a 2013 Club Eternia® subscription, and he will be interviewed for an article right here on MattyCollector.com. Best of all, he’ll have lifelong bragging rights as creator of a new MOTUC character!
In addition to the winning entry, five runner-ups were also announced during the SDCC fan panel, and each of them will also receive a 2013 club subscription.
We congratulate Daniel and the runner-ups, and thank everyone who submitted for an incredible turnout!
–Matty
P.S. Per the contest’s Official Rules and entry form, all entries remain the sole property of Mattel and may not be used or posted by anyone else (including any entrant), in any way, for any purpose.
