If you didn't have to work/weren't working or looking for work why would you let someone else bring your child up?:confused::confused::confused:
^Yup.
I know that in neighbourhoods like mine where there are a higher number of unemployed parents, day care centres are closing down. Just a few days ago one of our neighbours who has a daughter who's the same age as ours and attends a local day care centre told us that the centre is closing down. :( I've also heard from people who've worked in these centres that a lot of the kids there are really difficult to handle - a lot of them already use bad language (some of them seem to speak Swearing more than they can speak English) and behave violently.
In complete contrast, my daughter attends a day care centre that's closer to my work. It's in a neighbourhood where most parents are holding down jobs, many of them professional careers and day care is in high demand. We had to put our daughter on a waiting list the year before she started day care. Kids there are generally well behaved and motivated to learn. They listen attentively to their carers, follow instructions, know how to line up etc. Just last week I saw a white girl singing songs with a carer in English and Mandarin Chinese - they were singing in English at first, then I heard the girl say, "Okay, now let's sing in Chinese!" and she happily switched languages. :)
I actually caught chicken pox off a student 5 years ago, the parents sent him in even though he seemed sick. I was in bed for 6 weeks and still sport chickenpox scars on my face to this day :(
Yep, working at a specialist school we get this constantly. I've even had a parent say to me "The school holidays are in two weeks. She can stay home and get better then". The parent didn't give two damn's her daughter was spreading flu throughout the school. She just didn't want her daughter at home to interupt her drinking and watching bad daytime TV.
My 25 y.o niece works at the Daycare centre that Orion is attending. Not in the same room but it gives us some extra piece of mind to know that a relative is only a few seconds away. The Daycare (or learning centre) is the best one in Swan Hill, but that's out of a total of 3. And because it's the nice one we were on the waiting list for 7 months before a 1-day-a-week opening came up.
Finally found Size 1 TF clothing! And G1 based no less! (there is a blue Autobot symbol on the front)
Found it at Cotton-On Kids if anyone else is looking for one :)

+10 points for the Soundwave top on Dad!
This isn't the first time you've asked me to put on something special for you, though it is the first time you've asked me in front of the whole board - you make me feel so trampy sometimes :p
Here's some pics from my FB. The black shirt my little mate is wearing I have as well. At some point I should take a photo of all 7 shirts :)

They do have Size 2 and up though. Orion has just started wearing size 1, but I bought him nearly $100 worth of size 2 so they will be there waiting for him in 6/12 months :)
"Shhhhh!" you weren't mean to let people in on that dude!... :p:D
They all look quite good honestly , although it'd be great if they all came in Black & in XL... available sizes have often sought to stymy my purchase of various TF shirts :o - Online seems to be the way to go, which is already where I do 90% of my clothes shopping. ;)
Do you know if the one you've got of Soundwave's Alt mode is available in Black dude? :)
(My wardrobe deviates from Black only for work attire & a single OTCA shirt/jersey :p)
Congrats! :D
Awesome name :D
I wanted to call each of my kids Chaos Bringer but my wife wasn't a fan for some reason
Well you folk were right. Orion went to Daycare Monday, a couple of days later he had bad diarrhea that then his mother suffered from yesterday and then decided hit me at 2am this morning :( Guts are feeling bloody rotten today. :(
Think it's the first time he's passed something onto us instead of the other way round so pretty sure it came from Daycare
...get used to it... it'll happen a lot more. :( It personally makes me more frustrated with parents who deliberately choose not to have their kids immunised.
Yeah, but remember - Jenny McCarthy says that immunizations gives kids Autism. And I know personally I go to soft-core porn actresses when I want the truth about medical matters
Oddly enough I did two years at the Autism Teaching Institute and never once in my course did they bring up the immunization thing - lax on their part I guess :p
Well it's one year later to the day and probably almost to the minute that I first put this thread up. I guess I had better let it slowly dissapear as Orion is probably not the newest TF fan in the world anymore :p (in fact I know that one of our number had a little lad yesterday but I will let them do the announcements :)). Anyway, happy first birthday Orion!
Thankyou to everyone who wished us well when he first entered our lives a year ago, and have taken an interest ever since. You all rock! :):):)
Now to just get through the work day so I can get home and help him ride his new little ATV scooter and read his new 'That's not my robot!' book :D
hahaha, "that's not my robot", I'll need a copy for that for when I'm lucky enough to have a little one.
It really doesn't feel like a year since you put this thread up Trev, my how time has flown.
Happy 1st to little Orion.
and happy 2nd Christmas.
Happy Birthday Orion....may you become as big a legend as Optimus Prime in your years to come :)
Little Orry has turned one :) & you've figured out how to use photobucket
You've both grown up so fast :p ;)
Well this is probably the last time I will update this thread as considering how many other members have had kids in the last few years Orion is definitely not the worlds newest TF fan anymore - they grow up so fast!
But thought I'd post him getting his first TF birthday present - the Rescuebots Bumblebee Garage Playset :D
http://i1028.photobucket.com/albums/...ps87bd9obz.jpg
He doesn't know it yet but in six days for Xmas he's getting an Optimus AOE Floor Puzzle, an AOE Bumblebee Bed-Tent and since I am finally getting a G1 Sixshot for Xmas he's getting my old KO one as a stocking stuffer so we have the same toy to play with Xmas day :D Thank god he loves TF's eh ;)
Happy 3rd Birthday my special little man :):):):):):):):):)
Seeing the smiles and sense of wonder on kids' faces as they enjoy their toys = one of the best feelings in the world. :)
Honestly I can't wait to have kids, the look on their faces is priceless.
I can't wait to get that reaction in two and a half weeks time after Dad has been up half the night putting her trampoline together for when my little one turns three as well :p
It's a good time isn't it BTT, they are now old enough to grasp the concept of Christmas and Santa and all the fun stuff from when we were little. It has really made this time of year so much fun for our little family. (Plus my birthday is this coming week) So it's presents central :D
