I am impressed - Certainly a much more extensive retool than I expected and it works pretty well although the look of the character has somewhat been changed. Not necessarily a bad thing.
Impressive Hasbro, you seem to be getting your act together after a few years of mediocrity. Keep at it and I may give more money to you than the 3rd parties.

I love the gunship mode. Not a fan of the beach buggy wheels going on in car mode but it's a worthwhile sacrifice; in fact as much as Springer's car mode appeals to me this is a net improvement IMO. I can just pretend this guy hasn't got a car mode.

I think the original Sandstorms land vehicle mode was meant to be some kind of dune buggy (with a weird tail thing coming off the back) so I think big wheels are there as a shout out to thatQuote:
