They look like they're trying to go for the same yellow on G1 Whirl's chopper blades. But then again, Today's Hasbro notoriously struggle with yellow. :/ Still, overall the toy looks great to me. :)

Looks nice, close enough to MTMTE for me, but I wish the blue was a tiny bit less bright. It's good enough though. ;)
I just hope that one day we get a purpose-made Roadbuster to go with him, not just another mold repainted in Roadbuster colours
Was apparently mad keen from the promo pics but the proportions in these packaging pics are not impressive at all.
Im loving the look of him. Happy he is very G1 :D
Comparing the old promo shots to these new ones, does anyone else feel they have brightened up the new pictures? It looks to me like they have over done it, the colours on the box look washed-out rather than the usual boxes artwork and whatnot.
Also in regards to Lint's post, the proportions do look a little off, but I think that is because they have lowered his torso a bit too much. It seems like you can make him a little taller and better proportioned, as with the older pictures, by moving his torso up a bit further on the sliding joint in his hips.
I'm going to wait for actual pictures of the figure.
3 modes?? What's his third?
Hursticon was kind enough to mirror the official images that were released during SDCC in July, which had it's "3rd mode" shown... which just looks more like someone got halfway with transforming and gave up. :p
^Yay! - I did something useful for a change!^ :D:p
So "Where can I get my Whirl?", "How long until I get my Whirl?" and so on... :p:cool:
Really? - I kinda dig it. :o
I can completely see where people say it's purely a mid-step in Transformation (Kinda is :p), but for those of Macross-esque tastes or even just Mecha sensibilities - I think it works, has a sort of Mechwarrior vibe about it. :)
I wasn't too keen on this figure when I first saw it, because I'm not familiar with his character, but since then he has really grown on me and can't wait till I have him in hand. Any estimated release date?
I wouldn't trust BBTS with the releases dates they put, they are usually a month later than all the other stores. On the other hand I checked RK and they say early Feb so I'll go with that.
Their initial date for US Hasbro items is normally good as it's based on Hasbro's release date, the toys normally start showing up at US retail the month BBTS list. The problem comes when Hasbro doesn't bother to give BBTS their stock on time, BBTS normally is at least a month behind Walmart, Kmart, Target and TRU.
