Some interesting background info as to why the Truck mode of Optimus is really changing. Instead of giving us something new, and giving Hasbro a chance to sell Optimus toys (and Bumblebees) that aren't just the same toy a parent has already bought from the previous movies... it is because Bay could get some free trucks to replace the "junkers" he had for the first three Movies.
Rumors going around that the three black combat cars may be new incarnations of 'The Dreads' from DOTM, though to my mind they just look like they will be the racetrack versions of S7 or NEST vehicles.
Oh, and with Leadfoot showing up, do you think we will see Roadbuster and Topspin again?
So new cars, mcalren, aston and garbage truck spotted with the freightliner and pagani.
Stunticons? Dinobots? Hmmmmm
I'm praying that the Stunticons are in this film.
Think this is new

Yeah I saw this, so it's true that the Autobots will ride the Dinobots!
That is ridiculous buuuuut Grimlock must the size of a factory block
He'd better have a bot mode
The size of Grimlock compared to Optimus is already throwing me off this movie.
The red Pagani Huayra sports car has been identified as 'Stinger'. I'm trying to remember if I've seen him in group shots with the autobots or not, as it sounds like it could be a Decepticons name
ALLEGIANCE SPOILERS HERE!!
Here are some listings from the great Hasbro helpline reveal of 2013! To make it harder to read i comma delimited it (sorry). TRA CB STINGER VS BUMBLEBEE A7857, TRA BUMBLEBEE AND STINGER SCENE PACK A7757, TRA CYBERVERSE BUMBLEBEE STINGER 37974, TRA MV4 GEN DLX DECEPTICON STINGER A811?, TRA MV4 TITAN HERO STINGER A7784, TRA ONE STEP DECEPTICON STINGER A7071 So it looks like they might be all swappy swappy in the movie.
If by chance it does end up being a Decepticon... it's a pity it didn't have a Stunticon name.
Yuk.:(
Not a bad silhouette, however the head looks more like Skybyte than Grimlock. Pretty menacing though
:confused:Very Japanese esque but not what I would like Grimlock to look like:(
It's seems they try to go as far away from the originals as possible. I will get used to it over time. But couldn't he look a little like G1? Prime does particularly his head
Could it have killed bay to keep a IDW inspired face?
Eh, could be worse. Will hold off final judgement until we see him in the cyber-flesh but at least it looks kinda badass.
I've felt strongly since Sideswipe in ROTF that they are either changing things for the sake of changing things or are just using names randomly. Out of all the characters I've felt it was SSwipe that had deviated from his original form as much as possible the most. While I have no issue with the Bayverse doing it's own unique spin on the TF universe, I am in agreement that at least a bit more of a shout out to G1 would be most welcome indeed. Many of these characters are turning 30 next year, and the reason for their enduring popularity is that they were so great the way they were. Hence, to use ROTF as an example again, why I loved Long Haul's look and quite liked Ravage, but Mixmaster and Arcee did nothing for me.
It does appear that way doesn't it? I'm also fine with modern interpretation and updating characters but it would make sense to retain some core design elements. Otherwise the name really means nothing, particularly if there are no personality traits retained either
Another look at Grimlock on some licensed merchandise... and a laser-tag type licensed set, which is kinda funny if you think about it (you basically have Optimus and Bumblebee trying to shoot each other).
Nice. Apparently this is a hero masher. Much like the super hero mashers you can remove parts and mix and match

Another Hasbro mix 'n' mash range?
At least the new Mr Potato head range will make up for it :D

Will do (Y)
Thanks, KP ;)
Apparently Brains (from TF3) might be back for TF4... according to the guy who voiced him.
Brains was a mostly in the movie for comedic relief, but if you read the comic prequel and adaptation (or maybe TFWiki), the character was meant to have some decent back-story that was completely dropped for the movie.
So Grimlock should be a speaking character in the movie, according to one of the upcoming electronic toys. A voice actor (not the one doing Grimlock in the movie... so wouldn't it be great to have Gregg Berger back), has been commissioned to record lines for a Lights & Sounds Grimlock toy.
The video clip might be how the movie Grimlock will sound... or it could be like most Hasbro toys and sound nothing like their onscreen versions. :p
There might be royalties involved that Hasbro hates paying, but getting the actual voices onto talking toys, makes them worth buying. Just look at GEN Metroplex and the second Stomper Movie Optimus, those give me chills when they speak in my hands the same way they did on the TV screen... and you never want to take the batteries out. But when you have a poor fake voice (like pretty much all other figures), you never play their sounds ever again.
The official art for Grimlock has been released by the official Transformers Facebook page as their new banner (mirrored at fansites)... super-imposed over the current official image of Optimus (which you can see on the First Edition packaging).
