I round up to the nearest 100% too :p

I think we need to see some pics :D
Q: Is your G1 collection complete?
A: Sorta-kinda-in a way... not really, there's plenty of holes.
Okay so with gok's prompts and blessing hehehe I'll round it to 100% ;P
well it's kinda hard to squeeze the whole 6 layer shelves in the pics but here goes
- old photos taken last year so there's been a couple of minor rearrangements since plus a few more additions.

but here's a more recent shot
coz the room is lengthways it's pretty hard to get a good clear shot overall as I do have a bed in the middle of the room as it is still a functional bedroom ( of sorts) ;P

and yes Ive evicted the Alts / older Mps to the corner and put the ever growing newer Mps to the middle Detolf heheh.
Cheers! I guess my target will be to get the remaining 11 or at least the equivalent as I have just recently bought Laster and Braver which would be Equivalent (mould wise but not same character) to Lightspeed and Flame (?)

if it's counted so, then erm that's 2 less heheh.
Sorry, Brainmasters don't count (for the purposes of this thread/poll). Much like toys such as Minerva, Go-Shooter, Ginrai etc., the toys aren't virtually identical to their Hasbro counterparts, they are quite noticeably different from the Motorvators.
Damn liege, those are displayed beautifully. They truly look amazing on those shelves. Lined up perfectly.
Thanks, glad you like it. :D
Very slowly hehehe, I have to clean the whole lot in about a week tops. That's because I do it per shelf of course, the shelves itself is easy coz you just need a glass cleaner (it's black glass) give it a good wipe, and since there's no sides of the shelves - there's not much to clean shelf wise. But for the figures, I wear those microfiber mittens that I bought from Kmart so that while Im handling them they're getting a wipe as well, I don't even do a proper wipe of each figure anymore heheh. Couldn't be bothered but there's not much dust thank goodness as there's not much activity in the room itself, I usually take which figure I wanna play with and fiddle play or take pics in my bedroom where Ive got plenty of space to move around ;P
Great shots guys.
Heres a shot of 1984-1989

Wow!
A"few" :p;) indeed theshape hehehehe
Some real gems there I see,. A few reminders of my stupidity for not getting them when they were on sale waaaay back when - Jap Monstructor individually boxed for 150 Pesos - (around $4-5 now ) grrrrr...
Ooh Minerva, and that Galaxy Shuttle... nice!
Do you have Raiden as well by any chance?
now I realize, I still have quite a lot to look out for. :)
Yep they shouldn't count :p Amazing collection mate!!!:eek::eek:
Cheers guys :). Yeah I have a raiden but he is loose. The last Gems I need are battle Gaea , guard city and Dino cassettes.
So much awesome...
yeah he was selling a set of Battle gaea and Guard city but wasnt able to snag them. They were in immaculate condition
I'm starting to question if I ever will finish my G1 collection now. Due to for the first time in a while being ahead on our finances my wife had no problem with me spending a bit on getting a G1 figure. But every figure I looked at on ebay on the weekend that I didn't have that I wanted, I couldn't justify spending that much on. Even Hardhead who I've wanted for years! Every year the G1 toys on offer become rarer and older and thus dearer and most of them for me have progressed beyond what I think they are worth to add to my collection.
Kind of a sobering realization, since I dreamed one day of owning them all.
Just keep your eyes open for a bargain, they still come up. I got a complete cannon transport on the boards for $15 after skipping the ebay buy it nows for years. I got a AM prowl (complete) for $5 at a collectors fair.
Since looking at it this way (ie: its not a race) its been a lot less stressful for me personally
I've created a Flipcard activity to make the process of counting G1 TFs a whole lot simpler and hopefully more fun as well. :) Currently this list only covers the first 2 years' worth of toys, but more will be coming soon. Enjoy.

Cool, I own them all :)
I was afraid of the odd toy I thought I owned but didn't, specially the Mini-Spies but all good
I'm actually missing 2 Transformers from this era, one of which I didn't include (cos I already hit the 99 limit):
+ MiniSpy, Buggy Type
+ Time Warrior (:eek::eek:)
I am not counting Time Warrior - It is more merchandise than anything else. You include that then you may as well not regard your collection complete until you have every Transformers lunchbox, coloring book and sticker sheet (etc) released in that era.
I'm in the same boat mate, often I look at G1 stuff on Evilbay and walk away. The trouble of getting the seller to post more 'useful' pics to be sure that what might be a good deal actually is, is also a bit of a turnoff.
Very good advice, I have picked up some very good specimens from this board for some excellent prices over the years.
The first time I went to Botcon I had a list as long as my arm of G1 stuff I was going to look out for. Prices were higher than I really expected so I came away with a couple things.
The second and last time I've been to Botcon, I went with the hope of seeing A specific figure which I had a higher budget for based on previous experience. I found it for a better price and better condition than I was expecting, 10 minutes into the dealer room.
From now on my Botcon trips, if there are ever any more, will have a top five list of G1 figures I'm hunting that should allow me to come away with one figure I'm happy with that will make a good reminder of the event.
I'm yet to do a proper count of my G1 stuff, so much is stored at the moment. I couldn't tell you off hand what I do have.
I did your swipe thing, which was fun, but I couldn't see a tally at the end?
I've got about 45 in my display cabinet so I put in 10%. I'm not including quite a few of my figures that I gave to my son to play with. It really is cool to think that I was able to pass these 25-30 year old toys to him. Only problem is that he is always asking for me to give him a few more of them from the cabinet each time he checks them out!
Reminds me of my own son. He is only 2 but loves going up to my cabinet and pointing at them and saying "Who's that one?" then repeating the name once I tell him. Due to his age he can't really transform them yet (apart from G1 Seaspray which I gave him) so at this stage I don't have much to worry about.
Back onto topic, geez I must be getting up to at least 75% complete by now. Mostly only missing Pretenders and Action Masters (do they even count? :p ). Not really fussed on collecting either of those lines so might just end it once I finalise 1984-1988 and micromasters.
Pretenders and Action Masters most certainly do count, and will feature in Parts 3 and 4 of the Swipers. Stay tuned! :D
I meant Action Masters only because they don't actually transform! :p
The hardest part of your flip card game is remembering which toys I have as actual G1 and what is MP and what is Generations.
Part 2 (1986-87) is now available! :)
<Old.Spice> "Look at the photos. Now look at your toys. Now look back at the photos. They are clearly not the same." </Old.Spice> ;)
You may also have a look at the Classicsverse and G1 Comparison thread to compare G1 and Generations toys. But generally the aesthetics between G1, CHUGUR and MP look drastically different from each other, they're pretty easy to tell apart straight away. :)
Here's one example, comparing 3 different versions of Wheeljack.

heh, I still don't own any one versin of those little spies, grrrr. couldn't bring myself to BIN some I see on ebay with those ridiculous prices fro such a tiny item . :p
I'm enjoying this click game heheheh
Yay! 100% :D
I'm only missing 3 from the new list, although do reissues count? If not I'm missing a hell of a lot more :p
It's not that easy, most of my childhood transformers are still at my parents house in Victoria. pretty much all of the G1 toys I have purchased in the last 15 years are currently in plastic tubs with about 80 to 90 % of the rest of my collection. I don't have the space to get them all out and see which ones I do and don't have. Unfortunately many of them I haven't spent a lot of time with, they've gone into storage soon after acquisition to make way for display of newer current toys. perhaps it's time I put a G1 shelf back in my display.
