the 'transfer device' was always useless without the new brain. now it'll actually work. oh and the 2025 reissue comes with a MP Computron to transfer said brain to

Hey guys can some one explain the colours for this? Is this in the comics or in the cartoon?
A bit disappointing and comic inaccurate:

At the same time, I am kind of glad as I already have a King Grimlock.
I didn't have the money to purchase the first one, but now that he's out I still can't justify it! But I've pre-ordered it anyway! Don't want to miss out again!
Oookay. Throne is lame. No remorse about having the beautiful original toy for five extra years.
A better look at the throne. Okay, not better... clearer.
This is already in stock in BBTS anyone paid and already gotten it?
I don't see it on any other hk shops like robotkingdom or Ehobby etc...? Whats the deal? exclusive rights to just a single store?
It's in my POL, went in this morning at 5am. Nobody has it yet.
I'm wondering if this is a Hasbro US product since only two US stores have it. No HK or JP stores.
Finally got the new reissue of MP-8X King Grimlock with the Throne accessory. Glad to say Grimlock is awesome, but this separate throne is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!! If you're thinking of getting it, do NOT get the throne!! Total waste of money!! It was a bit of a bitch to assemble together too!
I notice that this is a pure Hasbro accessory, with no reference to Takara on the box or item. I didnt think Takara would be that stupid to put their name on something this ridiculous.

Will be uploading my full review tonight. I dont have the original MP-8X to do a comparison, but will compare it to my MP-8 Grimlock. Will post here once finished :)
The joints on this guy are pretty damn tight! I still cant get the ankle rocking action to work, and the shoulder joint was tight to rotate.

Looks nice but a bit too pricey for me, on a side note anyone have any idea whats going on with Hasbro MP Grimlock in Toy's R Us retail stores I'd heard they were supposed to arrive in July and I've been calling Aspley every couple of weeks and the staff have no idea whats going on with them. They have MP Prowls but still no Grimlocks what gives?
If anyone is thinking of buying this set, I'll gladly buy the throne accessory for fifty dollars off you. Send me a PM
I haven't gotten mine yet as I'm waiting for other stuff in my POL. Is there anything on the box or in the documentation that indicates if this a Hasbro US release? I'm guessing it's actually a Hasbro US as no Japanese or Hong Kong stores have it.
GGAAAHHH!!!!! After all this time, my new MP-8X King Grimlock has a left elbow assembled in reverse!!!! Hopefully BBTS can send me a replacement!!!

You can see it clearly here too in my pic of it straight out of the box!!!

Dayum. I just started reading the comics and I'm nearly up to the first (proper) appearance of the dinobots. I have a feeling I'll want this guy. The throne, though not accurate, looks really nice.
I just had a look at my first run MP-8 Grimlock. He's just screwed together so unscrew his outer arm and put him back together the right way. I've had to do that on various figures over the years, no pin equals no big deal.
So I've ended up with a spare MP-8X 30th Anniversary edition (2nd Production Run - no throne MISB Collector's Grade). If anyone wants it for $250aud + shipping or collection let me know by the end of the week, or back to the USA he goes.
How can you just unscrew it and spin it around? The piece is supposed to be a mirror image of the one of the other arm. They made the error in using the same piece for one arm but installing it on the other. You cant just spin it around and screw it in the same.
Hey all, here's my full review of the new 2nd production run of MP-8X King Grimlock where I compare it against my original MP-8 (I never got the original MP-8X). I also give a close look at the garbage that is the throne and also a look at the elbow assembly issue that had affected mine and a few others.

Hope you can check it out, subscribe, like, and comment with your thoughts on the figure too :)
You complain about the throne pretty heavily (between your review and on these boards), but it's worth noting that in the markets it is designed to be sold in, the throne is (correct me if I'm wrong) a free premium. Shipping costs between secondary suppliers and customer demand (ie: the expectation that people will pay more).
That's hardly something to complain about Hasbro for, is it?
Don't get me wrong, crap is crap, but realistically, were Hasbro Asia charging for it? If not, I don't think you can call them out for it being cheaply made.
I've no idea if Hasbro Asia are charging for it, as I think BBTS and TFSource are both asking around $20 extra for it. I dont even know of any retailers in Taiwan (which apparently is the target country for this release) that are listing this.
For me, the Asian exclusives include the coins, and I can most definitely say the coins are far better quality than this throne. At least the coins are molded nicely and are metal! The throne is hollow plastic like a kid's mask. I wouldnt mind if it was hollow but a complete closed hard plastic throne. That would be far better and more stable.
Perhaps my initial impressions might have been different if the cost was nil, but I think even then I would've been disappointed and voiced the same opinion. A couple of folks here seemed quite insistent on paying around $40-$50 for me to ship the throne to them! I'm still in two minds about that cos I seriously feel like I'd be screwing them over! lol
About BBTS though, has anyone ever had to deal with them about a replacement? I have been assured that they are great, but they have not responded to my email with the details on the manufacturing error, and it's been about 3 days now!
Yep it was a free premium no point in complaining about it since as far Hasbro is concerned it's a free extra. The reason you got charged extra is BBTS and TFsource had to pay extra to have it shipped to the US so they had to pass on the cost (at least thats what BBTS said about the extra cost).
Yes, I got the usual customer service auto reply email response indicating they received the email and would reply as soon as possible. Problem is they have no phone number to call, so customers are pretty much forced to wait for email responses. Hopefully they email tomorrow. If not, I guess I can only email them again.
You're not the only one who has the problem with two right elbow joints. They are possibly contacting Hasbro or waiting for a reply from them about it if it's widespread - dunno...
Contacting them again after three business days wouldn't be unreasonable, to me anyway. :o
You can't blame the live band for not being worth the price you paid the scalper. Disappointment is one thing, but for a free premium, I don't think it's fair to rake Hasbro over the coals (on this one!).
Big Bad were awesome when I had a YOTH MP Optimus have a defective axe. They got a replacement organised and shipped it to me at no cost. Give them time, I'm sure they'll sort you out.
