Five in both - one is in Soundwave when he's in cassette-player mode.

Having Ratbat would help this set sell... and I wonder if they didn't show the alt-modes of the cassettes because they look really bad.

Sure, he had a dragon painted on him, and YotS Omega Supreme's box has snakes embedded in the packaging logo, and YotH Optimus Prime's Autobot logo is a horse blended with the G1 Autobot symbol. It'd be nice if Hasbro actually selected toys that transform into that lunar calendar animal for a change.

While that makes sense thematically wise, that would never reach the same amount of sales as having the flagship Transformers in the spotlight. While most collectors will still pick up both, they'll do little as incentives for newcomers.

Im really keen for these I am quite fond of both of these moulds , though the chrome on g2 primes trailer looks a little miss placed imo . I'll be picking these up as soon as I can :D

1x frenzy
1x lazerbeak/buzzsaw
1x ravage
1x ratbat

and with a cheap price tag like yoth OP

and would prefer they use gold chrome instead of paint

I have a feeling that they would be a hard sell to retailers with those colours. YOTH Starscream looked better, but it ended up being rejected. If it was rejected due to cost, these two are likely to be about the same here, so you'd think that if Starscream looked more appealing visually and failed, these probably might not have much chance.
At best, we might get Optimus here just because it is the most iconic name in Transformers for retailers to take a punt on.

Same, I passed on YotH mp-10 and now seeing other people's ones i regret missing out. As for these, if only it had been a different color instead of that bronze (like the navy on YotH prime), i'd be after both. I'm still interested in the tapes though...

I never owned Masterpiece Soundwave but with how people are saying that the tapes are the major selling point I might grab the soundwave. Not too sure about the Optimus, but hey.

YotG is my year, but neither look interesting to me...

Don't understand the rejection of Soundwave combined with the acceptance of Optimus. They both share the same terrible colour scheme and follow the same terrible theme as the recent YOTX releases.

That said, the clear plastic Soundwave does lend itself well to some LED light up badassery. Somebody want to take on this project? :D

Beyond the gold, Optimus' colours are close enough to the originals, making him an acceptable substitute. Soundwave can't really do that.
