Looks like a thalidomide survivor.

Be prepared for disappointment, they used the same one....Quote:

Interesting on the actual pic that nosecone has the Decepticon insignia on him, that is clearly takaras groove prototype and lightspeed is clearly just smokescreen given the numbers. Must be an early prototype shot. Just shows how little effort it takes when the retool
I really hope Takara Tomy do some extra remoulding when they get around to doing their version. The more I see of Hasbro's Computron the more I don't like it.
You're right. And that photo is the source of the pic that people thought was part of Liokaiser, casting that combiner into doubt.
Maybe that drill tank in the photo is actually an early version of the BotCon Ramhorn
Also the hands and feet are third party.
The feet look similar though:

The sensible thing is to do up a cheap mockup to see if the idea will work or even get approval from the bosses or bean-counters, so this was probably the very first physical concept proposal, thrown together with existing toys and prototype parts/toys. Judging by the grey Groove prototype being used, you can probably work out the rough time-frame this proposal idea was whipped together at the Hasbro offices.
found this over on Facebook

Yes, the grey photo of the drill that was labelled as Liokaiser is indeed from this image, but the artwork of Liokaiser is in the same style of the Combiner Wars combiners, so should mean it is real too.
Maybe. But there was also recently that artwork of Omega Supreme in the same style that was found to be fan art, so I'm not 100% convinced about Liokaiser yet. Two bits of evidence made it more believable but the art on it's own...?

He's still too much of a forced repaint for me to get, but those feet and fists are a HUGE improvement over previous CW's toys. Why didn't they just do that to start with. Kinda wondering what the rumored Liokaiser will look like now
not sure if I will get this one. I knew and loved the inital combiners when I was a kid so I bought superion, menasor and defensor and have the takara bruticus on order. I think even though the old ones all had unique molds Computron stood out as different with the more out there sci fi aesthetic and I don't think this one really does it. I never had any technobots and don't really remember watching any cartoon episodes with them so I have less nostalgic feelings towards them too. So perhaps this is when 'mold fatigue' has gotten me :)
Glad I preordered this one. I like the new paint job on Scattershot (solo release was definitely a beta[tron]) and Afterburner looks sweet.
Can't wait to see the alt-modes.
So he does come with improved feet and hands?
They look like an improvement over the skeletal hands and clown shoes of the PE set.
Had they made changes to the torso and head i would have bought this.
Hmmm... I think I might wait and see if/what Takara do with him before purchasing this guy as I'm not sold on it from these images. That may change when we see the limbs in hand of course...
Ok I'm a lot more excited for Computron now. He looks sleek and the hands and feet make a big difference in my opinion. I think the Unite Warriors one will look even better so I'll be picking up that one.
its nice it comes with better hands/feet by default, the UW version will be the better choice per usual and adding the PE addon (chestplate + Head) will make it look real nice
Victorion got a new set of hands and feet, so it's good to see them branching out with other combiners too
Wishful thinking, but it would be have been nice to see them released with these in the first place, or even official upgrade kits.
I'll be getting the one to replace the chest and head. Besides that I think he looks awesome! Just a shame about Nosecone just looking like a normal tank with a drill shoved on (then he IS a drill tank I guess) and I'd like to get a better look at Strafe.
He's the best looking combiner in the series so far!
I like the new hands and feet. They look pretty good now.
Well done Hasbro for finally getting it right... at the end of the line  :p
Nice.
TFW user Roguesaint did a digibash using the PE head and chest and it looks way better!:

Wow - those PE add ons make a HUGE difference.
I just wish they weren't so darn expensive for what they are.
Do we know if Hasbro will be releasing the Technobots individually or will they only be as a boxset? I will of course grab the UW boxset as I like to have one gestalt and one set of the individual robots. But since I already have Scattershot if the Hasbro version is a boxset too it means I'll end up with three of him and the figure really doesn't impress me enough to warrant that.
This looks pretty good, the new feet change the entire robot, now he doesn't look like an ape, even better with the PE kit.
I would think that it is just a boxset, because...
1 - the retail release of Combiner Wars is now over.
2 - Hasbro haven't yet done box sets of teams released individually.
3 - Computron has new hands and feet, and as someone had noted, they wouldn't be released with the individual toys.
It's quite possible that this boxset concept was thought up late, after Scattershot was already locked in for release with Onslaught, but after Hasbro knew about the Japanese Deluxe Groove and the drill tank attachment for Nosecone.
If anyone is interested I've put a review of the Hasbro Computron set up on my blog as I got to play with him in hand at the Hasbro Hong Kong trial and play event.

Wow, seeing the image of Afterburner next to the others really shows how grossly out of scale that Deluxe bike is! I preordered the Hasbro one before news of the TakaraTOMY version came out. Then I eventually caved and preordered the TakaraTOMY one too. I'm going to receive my Hasbro one first, which I'll open because I want to keep Scrounge... then comes the tricky part of trying to offload an Scrounge-less set of Technobots.
I've been a fan of the G1 comics since the beginning, so Scrounge is a character from my childhood, but I can't help but wonder how many people are jumping on the Scrounge bandwagon now that he finally has a toy. :o Ah well, I'm sure I'll eventually find a buyer... probably have to wait a few years though.
