Little MP Grapple humour ;)

Rather than it folding, I'm pretty sure I can see some hinges and fold lines, I'm wondering about how much it actually telescopes. All of the views show it at the same/similar amount of extension, too long for stowage on top of the truck and not very far extended for Craning (I don't think this is a real word).
I'm sure it does telescope to a reasonable length for stowing on top of the truck but it would be nice to see, unless I missed that shot.
"Craning" is actually a word. To extend or stretch towards an object.
e.g. "He was craning his neck to get a better view."
I love it! Probably more than Inferno... or at the very least, like the way Ratchet was just as good as Ironhide, despite being mostly just a redeco.
The robot mode looks like a cartoon, and the truck mode reminds me of the original toy.

They both look great. Great to see some subtle differences they've added to the mold compared to Inferno.
What's the deal with the fists? Is there any sign Inferno has a right fist? Grapple has a left fist in the "holding the plans" image but there's no sign of it elsewhere. You can swap out the missile/hose attachments but wouldn't they include a spare fist in the accessories photo?
I was thinking about that yesterday.
The fists probably fold into the arms, exposing ports for the accessories to plug into.
inferno has both fists as seen when he is holding his gun

I managed to get mine about 9pm, I was playing a game and forgot hehe.
Nice one. So hmm they both have two fists and a hose/missile by default and an extra hose/missile in a different colour as part of their accessory collection. Still seems an odd way of selling it.
(But I hope that future MP Hoist, Trailbreaker and Sunstreaker all continue the trend of giving you the choice of fists vs "missiles"!)

So there's a blue print of the tower in the pic... I dont see it listed as an accessory. I wonder if that's the free gift that BBTS is mentioning about - says in their site, not yet announced . Im really pleased that Takara included the all orange head, gives us a choice. Even more pleased with the mini tower accessory... cant wait to recreate that scene .... in MP size this time heheh...:D
The gift that BBTS mentions should be the Asia exclusive bonus -- whatever that turns out to be.
It seems that TT doesn't show the paper accessories in the accessory group pic -- Ratchet came with his cardboard chest insert readout, but it wasn't shown in the group pic:

Instead it was shown in the "action" shots:

Transformers Masterpiece Architect Grapple transforming from Robot to a Crane Truck has appeared!!
Grapple, the proud Autobot architect, was popularised in an impressive Transformers (Fight Super Robot Lifeform Transformers) mid-season episode.
This product is not merely a redeco of the vehicle, as others up to now, to replicate animé Grapple's portly proportions about 50% of his parts are totally new sculpts. The new, built-in, crane boom arm, has a surprising transformation allowing all three parts to remain connected and are both housed in his back and contribute to an increase in the volume of both of his legs.
As seen in the cartoon, it is possible to replace the crane hook with a grapple (claw) or bucket, closer episode appearance can be achieved with a different head, three types of faces, his left arm barrel and animé reproduction replacement chest grill, in addition to the miniature Solar Tower model designed and built by Grapple, its fabricating tool and blueprints.
As an architect of his own dreams, Grapple wins his reproduction as a Masterpiece.
Product Contents:
Grapple's Body (Including Orange Head, Neutral Face for Orange Head, Black Barrel, Mitsubishi Style Grill & Crane Hook) (1), Animé Style Grill (1), Bucket Attachment (1), Grappling Attachment (1), Solar Tower (1), Grey Head (1), Face for Orange Head (Smiling) (1), Face for Grey Head (Neutral) (1), Face for Grey Head (Shouting) (1), High Heat Rifle (1), Barrel (Silver Plated) (1), Tool (1), Blueprint (1), Instructions Manual (1), Collector's Card (1)
I added in the "Pre-Order dates", which won't be displayed until after they expire, "Collector's card" and "(Including..." bits to avoid confusion as to what does and doesn't come with this figure, and omitted the wrapping, pre-order, domestic shipping only, payment & people who bought this also... info.
In the release date "Late" in TomyMall terms mean any time between the 21st & 31st (28th in this case) of the month (Early means 1st-10th, Middle means 11th-20th) for those of you who'd like to speculate on an exact release date - don't forget that even announced date can change.
Enjoy
Ny has it on 9,380 jpy plus 1,800 cheapest ship
Listing up at Amazon Japan with even bigger pics.
Check out the pic of Grapple reading the blueprints - see all that extra stuff in the back of his legs that's not present in Inferno (thanks for the comparison pics MEEEGGGAAATTTRRROOONNN!!!) - that's all part of his crane boom! :D Though I still can't tell if it extends or not...
Oh and all four faces, both heads, his hand gun and barrel are not the same as any of Inferno's (with the possible exception of his neutral expression face, but it's hard to tell from the pics), the barrel looks more like the G1 missile (with fins, albeit very slight fins) on which both it and Inferno's water nozzle (without fins) are based.
Yep, I'd say they're not far off in claiming that only about 50% of the parts from Inferno got reused.
I was honestly never attached to the character in the G1 cartoon, but this figure looks too good to pass up on. I'll probably display him with his orange head.
Also curious how the crane piston hides away in bot mode
I watched The Master Builders on the weekend, and its sparked my interest again in the toy. Also noticed that he featured a few times in the end credits of Season 2, and saw how he was one of the few glimpsed in the movie.
So now tempted in getting Grapple...and re-watching the original cartoon again for some reason :D
I'm not sure if you have noticed the price of Grapple in PC. I got him at $139 during the first night of preorder and now the price was reduced to $104.
http://www.premiumcollectables.com.a...-mp-35-grapple
Can we ask PC to give us the price adjustment?
half hour later and I see him as 140
According to my understanding of Australian Consumer Law...
If - and only if - you had placed an order for this toy during the time that it was listed for $104, then Premium Collectables has 2 options:
1/ Honour the advertised price and proceed to sell the toy to you for $104.
2/ Refund $104 to you and relist the toy for $140 (which they've already done), thus you can repurchase it at the intended price.
What they cannot do is proceed to charge you $140 when the toy was advertised as $104 at the moment that you ordered it (i.e. placed it in your cart and went through the checkout), as this classifies as false advertising. However, if it is an error on their part, they are fully entitled to withdraw/cancel the sale.
I would say your browser flicked to the USD price, which is 104. So no claim to be made
Then by law, if they choose to proceed with the sale, then they must charge you US$104. Which would be AU$139. You save a whole dollar! :p
"Then you take your dollar you go to the dollar store you buy something else!" #beaman
Now they put it back to $140. I should have ordered heeps while at $104 😀
By the way, here is the previous post:

Your picture is missing it, but you'll find it is inadvertently in USD rather than AUD
I haven't understood so many people on various TF boards going 'Grapple? Meh' even though they seem to like the look of the toy.
I mean, I know he was a b or c-list character but is he really that unpopular? I always liked him well enough. But then I can't think of any season 2 characters I didn't like so maybe that doesn't say much
A great toy is still a great toy, regardless of how well or poorly writers have written that character. Thundercracker was a B or C list character for decades until IDW writers finally tapped into the true potential of his character (as originally described in his original 1984 tech specs bio) and made him an interesting character! With a pet dog! :D And conversely you can have a really interesting character based off a pretty ordinary toy. G1 Thunderwing comes to mind.
Many of us original G1 fans saw and collected Transformers toys before they ever appeared in media and we would've already formed opinions on these toys before they ever graced our TV screens or comic books. Often by the time they showed up it was like, "Oh right, there's that toy that I own!" I mean, many of us aren't terribly fond of Machinima's Combiner Wars mini-series, but does that mean that we've suddenly changed our minds about the CW toys and are suddenly hating on them? I love my CW toys but I can't stand the show. I really don't see the logic in confusing one's opinion about a toy with one's opinion about a cartoon. I don't need a show to tell me what I think about a toy.
P.S.: Most of the more popular characters from the cartoon have already been done as MPs now anyway. What's left are the less prominent characters. And this trend will continue as TakaraTOMY work their way down the "popularity ladder" in selecting characters to adapt as MPs. Meister is probably the one prominent character who's surprisingly not been done as an MP yet, but I reckon because that it may be because Jazz has less redeco potential; you've got Stepper or G2 Jazz, both obscure repaints of the original. It's difficult to determine how well the obscure repaints will sell. Exhaust seemed to have sold like hotcakes, but Road Rage is still a terrible shelfwarmer. So I think that TakaraTOMY are playing it safe for now by going with developing moulds with stronger sales potential. But I reckon that they'll come around to more prominent characters with lesser redeco potential later on - Jazz, Hound, Mirage, Sunstreaker...
And some people need to remember that TakaraTOMY are now pumping out more MPs a year than they ever did before! And these are the same designers which also work on other Transformers lines, including the upcoming Last Knight movie toys, Robots In Disguise, Titans Return etc. We've got things pretty darn good now compared to the early years of MP!
I dunno, maybe amend that to 'more popular characters that have an earth mode'. Blurr, Kup, Arcee, Springer, Wreck-Gar, Galvatron, Cyclonus & Scourge were all pretty popular from being in the movie, and then (for those that watched it) S3 of the cartoon. Since they have done Shockwave and Star Sabre they should be up for joining the list. Jetfire too.
Also off the top of my head Blitzwing, Astrotrain & Blaster were pretty popular and they had Terran modes. Brawn was a fairly stand-out character as well.
But yeah, back to my original point. I didn't find Grapple particularly offensive and liked him enough in the show. Why so many people are going 'Meh' about the character (not the MP toy) on all the boards when I didn't hear people saying similar about Acid Storm, Sunstorm & Inferno is a bit of a surprise is all. But then as I said ealier, I tend to look at S1 & 2 through rose-tinted optics so maybe I'm not as critical of the character as I should be :o
Edit: one thing I guess about the characters I just listed is there isn't a lot of repaint options, but then neither was Shockwave
Like the other guys have noted, AUD prices will have the "AUD" appear behind the price:
