Artfire looks pretty neat, but not a purchase for me as I'm a G1 cartoon collector.
My bank account is breathing a sigh of relief given the recent run of Thrust, Inferno, Skywarp, Grapple and Megatron. :D

The MP-11 numbering bugs me, why are all the Seekers the same number but every other repaint/remould gets it's own number unless it's super obscure?
Since I don't feel the need to have Artfire day one I've just placed an order with PC. Save me some money over HLJ.
I would agree with having variant numbering for toys which are variant characters (e.g. G2 Lambor, G2 Bumblebee etc.), but in all fairness, I can see why they would have separate numbering for wholly new and different characters. After all, the MP Nissans all had separate numbers, as did the original Seekers (MP3, MP6 & MP7).
All this talk of numbers on a box.
I didn't realise this was a thing.
Anyway, I've tentatively placed a preorder at BBTS & will flick over to HLJ when they decide to open their orders.
That $35 option really kills the benefit of using PC from a pure price perspective. Better off ordering from Japan in that case. In my experience if PC is equal to or worse than Japan pricing you are best ordering from Japan if wanting to keep it MISB since it will be packed well from Japan. PC has no control over the condition they receive their orders. And of course you will get it a lot quicker for all shipping options except by boat. Given where the Yen is I'm switching back my pre orders to Japan for all general release MP's. Staying with PC for the exclusives given how much cheaper they are than the Asia + TakaraTomyMall sources.
Just my 2 cents.
Actually it depends I wouldn't just say no stress unless you are the owner of PC you self allocated your own. Roll of the dice as soundwave TT got sold out real quick and if they answer your emails slow you are out. Is simple as that a weigh up whether 10% or not getting any
I take your point on Soundwave but Artfire is no Soundwave. While I can't guarantee it, I expect Artfire to be about as popular as Delta Magnus or Road Rage since there is little nostalgia factor for most of us with the character. It was only released in Japan and didn't appear in the US or Japanese G1 cartoons . Heck, Cheetor is a far more popular character and was available for a good two months on PC from memory. If I was Zoon I wouldn't be losing any sleep over it.
I agree with this, JP and Diaclone MP's tend to "shelfwarm." The rush of having to get in with PC early has died down now, perhaps they have a bigger allocation, or now that their pre-orders seem to be going a lot more months out now until release they have more time to build up orders, but yeah, ummed and ahhhed about Megs V2 and the other day thought, why not, and it was still available after the early rush.
This has been my experience with the VIP program too. I must have only been able to use it on about a third of my orders.
Frustrates me that I'm not able to use my 10% VIP discount on all orders that is what is advertised or risk not receiving the discount. They never mention the fact that you have to wait hours, days, heck even days after having to re-send invoice requests up after a few days to receive an invoice with the discounted price.
They really should make the discount be applied automatically at checkout with an account specific VIP code. I'm grateful that they have the program in place, but I think they should actively cater to VIP's with a little more priority when it comes to guaranteeing preorders and not have them worrying about missing pre-orders because of unnecessary slow response times.
I have actually just started looking at hlj recently. I'm just starting to find pc shipping weeks/months after release dates is starting to wear a bit thin. While I'm all for cheap prices i would prefer some things i.e the masterpiece line in my hands a bit quicker and a guarentee of quality boxes. Like you've already mentioned I'll stick with pc for the exclusives as I'll be guaranteed 2 or whatever it is.
Thanks for you input:)
So if Artfire is a regular release, who is our best bet for next year's Tokyo Toy Show Exclusive? (High probability of a redeco Ironhide?)
If Artfire drops in price the way Road Rage did then I may pick him up. Otherwise considering all the other TF lines coming out it's just too expensive to grab every MP variant.
Looks like the amiami listing is up.

It looks like NO STICKERS for artfire as inferno's listing mentions stickers, meaning the markings are tampo's.Quote:
[Set Contents]
-Artfire x1
-Targetmaster "Nightstick" x1
-Optional face place "screaming" x1
-Rifle x1
-Character card
-Instruction paper
Here is inferno's listing for comparison

Both a good thing and bad depending on your opinions on lack of molded detail, they should of used the shins from mp grapple as they have molded detail unlike infernoQuote:
[Set Contents]
-Main Inferno figuer x1
-Anime ver. grill x1
-Alert retaining grill x1
-Fire extinguishing rifle x1
-Communicator x2
-Squared head face x1
-Round head face x2
-Watering effect part x1
-Round head x1
-Barrel (white) x1
-Fire fighter hose x1
-Character card x1
-Instruction paper x1
-Sticker x1
I was using the list price since the retailers seem to use a standard 20-30% off the list price.
I was going off the amiami links which have the list price as 16,200¥ for Artfire and 15,120¥ for Inferno. Inferno's actual selling price now is higher than the pre order price which was in the 10,000s. Maybe they have the list price wrong since Takmall's are the same. Anyway will wait to see what NY lists there's at.
Its just been listed on the TakTom Mall, but the listing's incomplete and no pictures have been added yet. So far all the pictures feature undecorated grey parts, those parts will be chromed or painted in the final, and only then will images be posted to the Mall. The package contents are equally incomplete, those are foil-backed stickers, not tampographs, since they're not listed, they may either be pre-applied or just have yet to be added to the description, The Mall entry for Inferno also omits stickers/decals in its contents list.
Here's a Translation of the TakTom Mall entry
Italics=parts obviously included but not listed or notes

Introducing Masterpiece Cybertron Targetmaster Warrior Artfire!!
Targetmasters are Transformers partnered with Master Warriors who can convert into weapons.
Artfire is a character from the Transformers ★ Headmasters series, although not appearing in the cartoon, the original Japanese character first appeared in a comic published in a children's magazine at the time. Based on Inferno the white & red redeco is also based on the two-tone colour scheme of Japanese Fire Trucks, utilises parts from Grapple to reproduce the "atmosphere" of the toy released at that time as much as possible. Comes with a new mould of his partner Targetmaster "Nightstick", although small all joints are movable, in weapon mode can be attached to Artfire or, when used together it's possible to recreate action scenes.
Product Contents:
Artfire body including Square-Shaped Head, "Passive" Face for the square-shaped head, "Scale Vehicle" grill(1), Targetmaster "Nightstick"/"Space Beam Cannon" - New Mould(1), Rifle (1), "Shouting" Face Plate from Grapple(1), Character Card (1)
HLJ listing up as well @ ¥12,000

When do the Hasbro Asia bonus accessories usually get announced?
Curious for what MP Inferno, Megatron and if the reissues will get coins or other accessories like what happened with Shockwave.
NY has just listed it for 10,280¥.
https://www.nippon-yasan.com/figures...7-artfire.html
NY's shipping can be pricey but I'm going to stack it with other preorders to bring the cost down.
I just HLJ'd it.
It's a bit random:
Primal -- March 28 preorders opened and April 8 diecast mace was announced.
Inferno -- July 6 preorders opened and July 22 diecast Prime was announced.
Cheetor -- August 5 preorders opened and September 29 diecast Primal announced.
Grapple -- September 6 preorders opened and September 28 diecast Magnus announced.

Blast, I really enjoy the paint scheme more than Inferno and Grapple however the markings really bring it down for me even though I know it's accurate. Oh why couldn't they have been stickers?
I hate stickers but that's me .
I like the target master but I don't like artfire himself, grapple is looking to be the best of the lot for me atm.
I say bring on more targetmasters lol. Looks great
Given how large Nightstick looks with Artfire, a Targetmaster would look absolutely HUGE with Hot Rod.
