Ultra Magnus was originally intended to be a gender fluid character. Hence why the name combines the feminine "Ultra" (m.="Ulter") with the masculine "Magnus" (f.="Magna").

There's an after credit scene that reveals Dumbo to be Ironhide rebuilt with a beast mode. Dumbo is secretly a prequel for a live action Beast Wars movie. In an attempt to stay relevant to their dwindling and maturing fan base, Hasbro had plans to do a Transformer themed album with NWA, to be released in early 1990. Michael Bay never resorts to using female characters as nothing more than eye candy.
Travis Knight gives regular Ted Talks to budding movie makers about making characters memorable with well developed story arcs.
Due to the popularity of Bayverse and G1, as well as community acceptance of both, a cross-over movie is in the works to bring both continuities together. The working title is Transformers Generation 1: Bayverse.
