Agreed! That is $400 that can go towards Unicron
Compared to something like MP44 where you get a truck, trailer and a few dicky accessories for 500+ bananas, this seems the better value option to me.
Nope, just went to put my order in, gone :(
Both Turtler and Gulf are available again from EB Games and Zing, if anyone still wanted to get them but missed out the first time.
Well, I did it.
I'm one of those jerks that rags on something and then goes ahead and buys it anyway..
I went to have another look at it on Friday and the listing was gone, having time to think about it this week, I realise that I'd rather have it even at that crazy price. I've saved money on other things in the past so I guess this is balancing the scales. If a box set is announced (significantly cheaper) at some point down the road I can always cancel the pre-order.
I looked at it as, since it's a generations select item and being offered on Hasbro Pulse in this format, there probably won't be a separate US based release, most likely. And as others have said it's probably a comparatively small run so there is an increase in unit cost. There are significant mould changes to other combiners and it's not the sort of team to be presented again any time in the near future so if I don't grab it now I'm not going to have the opportunity.
Being limited if I don't end up liking it, I shouldn't have too much trouble moving it.
The first set which was initially due on Jan 25 had its release date pushed back to Feb 21. Now I've been told that it's been pushed back again to mid March with the other two sets coming out in late March. I've been told that the shipment is held up at Customs due to coronavirus.
Don't they know Transformers are made in Vietnam not China?
Depends if the stock is from Hasbro's SEA branch in HK.
Wouldn't actually mind if they all came in together.
Has anyone gotten their figures yet? My preorder status says Turtler is "Out Now", but Gulf is the 15th of March.
I asked today and everything was pushed back except what was due out this week, which they think means it hasn't been updated yet with the delay.
I just got off the phone with EB Games call centre. Yeah, they blamed the coronavirus. Also, the Seacons that are due this week on the 29th are not in the country yet.
So all the stores & customers that got theirs must have been from the pre-virus batch?
I got mine from not-EB last Monday and didn't die of the CoRonAs.
So their explanation of why the coronavirus is preventing shipment is plausible given some of the crazy shipping routes freight companies have.
Apparently the company that they are shipping with wants to take the figures from where they are right now in Vietnam, to China and then to Australia. From the sounds of it, they are not open to changing that route.
Also, the freight company has given toys a low priority. So even though they are shipping other items, it's only things that they have deemed a high priority.
Apparently EB Games is trying to get their stock given a higher priority though.
I asked about my orders last week.
Kraken & Lobclaw - 15th March
Tentakil & Overbite - 28th March
Turtler & Gulf - sometime in April??
I asked the same and got the same response, except Gulf is due 15th March and it was just Turtler in April. 👍
Same repsonse here. 15th arrival, but likely another week before it gets out to stores. I'll be keeping my phone on loud from the 15th hahah
Yeah I asked in store, some of them will be out in a couple of weeks, then the others come later. Not related to Transformers, but it was mentioned with any future pre-orders that they are reducing the quantities due to what is happening at the moment. So get in early apparently.
Guys in case any of you still need them. We have all the 4 sets of Seacons in stock, good price and free shipment to Australia. We also have GS Star Convoy on sale at very favorable price.
Generation Selects Seacons
Ok, just got off the phone with EB Games. They are hoping that the Seacons will ship from Vietnam next week at this stage.
I don't think this applies any longer. Ordered mine for click and collect - the call centre seemed to think they were on their way to the stores at the beginning of the week, but they ain't. It looks like EB Games/ZING have closed their call centre for now due to COVID 19.
I got a call back from one of the stores. Sounds like ordering and the warehouse is still going. Kraken and Lobclaw are now due to arrive in the warehouse today along with Lio Convoy, so they should be in store next week.
Pretty much what I got told that around 25th is likely. Close.
I don't think we'll be seeing any of the items they had up for order in a hurry, TBH.
RK has just shipped Wave 3 of the Seacons. So I'll get Wave 2 and 3 from RK before Zing gets Wave 1. Again not fussed, but we may have to wait a lot longer to pick it up if they shut the stores for lockdown before they get it in.
They're estimating from around 10/4-22/4 now.
At this rate, it's probably fifty fifty chance GameStop/eb games/Zing goes bankrupt, or that retail stores are forced to close for corona restrictions. Take your pick as to which is more likely
If we miss out on Wave 1 we're up schitt's creek since as far as I can see it's sold out everywhere bar ebay. $300 shipped incl GST for Turtler and Gulf! Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

One solace to take is that retail stores are basically shutting down and workers are being stood down. Rent holidays also likely. So while that is awful for the staff it will hopefully enable EB/Zing to survive until they are able to reopen.
Also hopefully pre-orders can still be shipped from their warehouse since pick-up may no longer be possible.
Interesting, Wave 2 arrived promptly a couple weeks ago but I guess things have slowed down since then.
My call to the Zing call centre just now did not inspire confidence. They said there is no fixed date so I guess they will just keep pushing things back a month at a time. Also click and collect orders do not have the system capability to be turned into delivery orders - the person gave no indication they would amend this if the stores are shut down.
If you do want to cancel your pre-order you have to go into the store despite having made the order online - just lovely.
My MP19+ arrived quickly a couple of weeks ago from RK. I'm hoping my two orders leave HK at some point today. I'm guessing there's a bit of a queue with the reduced flights.
The "Customer Service Heroes" don't really know much about what's going on, TBH. They need to talk to the buying team to work out what's happening.Quote:

Yup. This is annoying. I ordered Lio Convoy through ZING and had fully paid up in store. Really want to cancel and order from elsewhere, but don't want to leave the house.Quote:
