haha your welcome, I'm impressed someone even know it's called farsi.
I've never really thought about how people choose their usernames...and now I can't stop. On WaR today I say a Chosen by the name of "Iceblend Frappichino"..needless to say I laughed..also there was someone by the name Scorpinok
i want to know about STL and fungal infection?! theres some weird ones out there!
its taken me a day to remember what 'kira kira' is! for some reason, i keep calling you 'the dude that owned powerglide'! (gokitimus prime)
the username that i used to use for games and such used to be Quackstar because i used to be a massive Daffy Duck fan(and stil am) but after awhile alot of games started to have a limit on the amount of characters you could use for your username like Need For Speed 2.
so then the search was one to find a slightly shorter username and one that would suit
a TF character that i created and one that was "unique" enough. and one night the news was on and the headline was "lawyers find a LOOPHOLE in the system" or something like that and from then on i used the name Loophole which i quite like and can be known to be pretty loopy from time to time as well
This! :)
I would've used wheeljack but there's so many weirdos already using that name so I thought maybe something different...Wheel-J (with the dash so as not to be mispronounced as "wilge" :p). My given name isn't Jack but it do starts with the letter J (hence the capital J ). Very elementary even a 5th grader can comprehend... :o Not very cybertronian but IMO the name sounds cool that if I can have another actual nickname that I would wanna be called...yeah...:D
I still do own Powerglide! Several of them - an original G1, reissue and USA Edition. I had 2 original G1 Powerglides at one stage so I offloaded one to Jhiaxus (and if you don't know where he got his handle from then you're on the wrong board :)).Quote:

Nah, seriously though a klystron is an RF amplifing device used in radars (see picture below).
My first real job in the navy was a radar tech and my radar system used a klystron. It was pulsed with 90,000V to amplify a tiny 3GHz RF signal into a 1MW output.
At that level of power there needs to be a series of focus coils (basically large electro magnets; not pictured) encircling the body of the klystron to keep the beam of RF 'focused' as it travels up and out of the device. if the beam is off slightly it will burn right thru the top of the klystron, instead of correctly entering the waveguide, and literally slag everything in its path (yes, this did happen).
I thought ending with "tron" and being an actual real world device, as well as one from my past, all fit together as a suitable username.

I'm a Doors fan and have the same birthday as Jim Morrison and David Carradine, the name is taken from a live version of The End and serves as a double reference to both.
Ode to a grasshopper...
I think I'll open a little shop.
A little place where they sell things.
And I think I'll call it grasshopper.
And I'll put a big green grasshopper out there.
Wanna see my grasshopper momma?
Lookin' real good.
Oh! I blew it, its a moth.
Well, thats all right, he ain't got long to go,
So we'll forgive him.
from "The End" as performed live, by The Doors
I have a Nissan Pulsar SSS that i put in car shows with the number paltes RAMPAGE, so rampagesss
But on most car forums im just know as Rampage :D
This is going to be a huge shock to all I'm sure - I'm named 'Doubledealer' after the fantastic G1 character of the same name. Not only is he a triple changer, but he can also change from being a Decepticon to an Autobot! I find Punch/Counterpunch fascinating for similar reasons but Doubledealer is on a whole different level of awesome. He can fly, he has a cannon that can level mountains, he's his own boss, he's an incredibly powerful gun for hire...What's not to love? Doubledealer is bad ass personified (Lockdown's got nuthin' on him, hehe). :D
Not to mention that his Autobot and Decepticon modes involve more than just the robot spinning around! :D Watching Punch transform into Counterpunch and back reminds me of Monkey where every monster "transforms" from human to monster by spinning around.Quote:

Time to bring this thread outta the vault!
For my username -
The Skywarp part refers to my favourite seeker-deco while the 91 part refers to the year 1991, when I was born! :D
Haphazard is what I go by all over the place and there's not much of a story behind it; I picked it for myself as a more Transformers-y sounding name. XD;;;
But I did give it a bit of thought: I'm often very clumsy and tend to either head-butt things or punch/elbow things (see: objects that are more likely to damage me, than I am to damage it) unintentionally, trip over my own feet/the floor, not see something that most normal people would, and then walk into it (usually head-first). I also tend to get random bruises and scratches without realising how/where/when it happened. I’m also dyslexic and my speech-pattern can be rather haphazard too.
There’s also the ‘hazard’ in Haphazard too which rather accurately describes me in a temper.
...
And if I were to ever be given the title of Prime (somehow, IDK) I would become Hazardous Prime! *insert egotistical laughing* … Well, I found that bit amusing at least. <_<;;
*runs off to lurk on the board some more* >3>
back in the day i was known as sharkysparky
Sharky - i guess serves a multiple purpose it was my nickname my team mates used to call me, came from my soccer playing days, they way i used to defend... i used to "come from nowhere and attack" a player on the opposition said something to that effect after i tackled him and the teammates picked it up 18 years not a single yellow card, secondly it is the footy team (NRL) i support
Sparky was well i was and electrician but now i am retired so its been dropped off the handle
'Tober' was the name of Jason Priestley's character in 21 Jump St.
80's
Mine is named after a Sentai group back in the 90s called Gekisou Sentai Carranger (激走戦隊カーレンジャー).
It literally means Violent Dash. Which is like how I drive sometimes. :p
My name comes from multiple places.
The Lord comes from my god complex
The Omega Is the last letter of the greek alphabet and in revelations it means the last or the end.
I don't remember where the Cyrus came from but in games that i need a smaller name i use Cyrus8.
When meeting some new friends a few years back, I was introduced as Steve and was met with the reply of "Did you say your name is Sleeve?" It stuck. :p
Heh... at one stage Takara were going to call Transformers 変身戦隊トランスフォーマー (Henshin Sentai Transformer - "Transforming Battle Squadrons Transformers"), but of course it was abandoned in favour of "Fight! Super Robot Life Transformers" (戦え!超ロボット生命体トランスフォーマー)Quote:

I like this thread :) so many interesting histories.
Mine's not all that original. One of my favourite characters is Mirage; I like his elite history and sneaky ability, hence Towers Spy. I was going to have something like Noble Ligier but didn't think it had the same flow.
Eruntalon is John in Elvish.
um......arr.....well, if u dont know, you are in the wrong place:p
Mine involved very little thought at all really.
Hursti - A play on my school nickname, Hursty, that is derived from my surname Hurst.:p
Con - Derived from the name of my favourite race of Sentient Robot life. ;):D
Put together = Hursticon: pronounced Hurst-e-con. ;):)
Mine is quite plain and not inspired by our beloved Transformers in anyway, aside from a minor tie-in with TT's homeland. My real name is Jai (pronounced 'Jeye'), and the love I have for Japan (the history, culture, the martial arts, the womenz XD), my friends referred to me as Jai-san through my teen years. So with 'san' being the Japanese name suffix for adults (unless my Jap teacher was wrong, which she probably was, she wasn't even Japanese =oP), I altered it to Jaisun as my common username in games/forums etc, as Jaisan often got me called Jayson. So yeah, very long-winded explanation of a simple name =oP
I'm not sure which 'verse it came from but its stuck with me and i'm pretty sure its canon. Mirage hails from a wealthy district of Iacon called the Towers. Only rich, elite and noble bots live there in luxury. Hence, he's from the Towers, and he's a Spy :)
This stumped me for a moment, then I realised that by Elvish you mean Quenya. So you're right... it's just for me usually when I think of Elvish I think of Sindarin, and the Sindarin equivalent of John is Eruviluion (which isn't too different from Eruntalon). :)
How do you say "Till All Are One" in Quenya? (or any other Elvish language)
Unfortunately I really don't know how to say anything Goktimus. I've seen multiple translations of my name also so Eruntalon might not be the most literal translation. It was pointed out to me by a friend back in 2002 and I've used it ever since as an online alias.
I sometimes use Elvish (Sindarin) in class -- on the odd occasion I'll say to my students things like:
Havodad (be seated)
Hannon le (thank you)
Lasto beth nin (listen to me - lit. "hear my voice")
Dartho / tangado haid (hold your position)
