Thanks, I try :)
Having seen these in person as well, I am amazed at the effort and finished product. You sir have some serious talent. Well done!
Thanks. I hope to surpass them with this though ;)
Hi Gamblor,
I am in the process of customizing a Sunstreaker into Breakdown. Did you use any under-coats before spraying the parts with metallic paint?
I'm not sure how helpful I can be with this but this is what I do to prepare the surface.
Wash and sand the panels with 1000 grit wet and dry paper, then airbrush resin primer. I find it sticks better than other primers.
Depending on the final colour I spray white surfacer next.
Then I apply Zero auto paint. This stuff typically cannot be brush painted. I recommend Tamiya or GSI spray paints otherwise.
I clear coat with either 2k clear or my favourite Finishers Auto Clear.
Then polish and admire :D
How's that for plugging products :D
Thank you. I am still confused on what to do but I guess it's more of inexperience than anything else.
What everyone else said. Perfectly executed.
that is just pure sexy!!!.. only the other day i was thinking i would love to have all the "sideswipe" recolours as i have a few of them.
awesome awesome stuff i am so jealous.. i have no skills in this department and am totally impressed.
cant wait to see the next one
Thanks. I hope to finish a couple when I get some time off.
