Wow, fairly cheap, and sooner than I thought.
Yea, didn't they have the actual toys ready to go ages ago and just needed someone to sell them? That would account for a fast turn around, just pack them up.
Very cool, this plus the Fansproject addons for Bruticus Maximus will empty my wallet for July
BBTS has preorders up too!

Anyone group ordering these?
Different prices for different shipping dates? Or you could just get it earlier from Robot Kingdom for the cheaper price! BBTS doesn't deserve anyone's business pulling crap like that.
I usually find BBTS to be way more expensive than the Japanese online retailers. Unless it is something that none of the Japanese retailers or Transformersland has, then maybe use BBTS.
Interestingly I just got an email from BBTS which claims the Seacons are BBTS exclusives for North America.
We're not forced to use BBTS, but it's an interesting precedent for online stores to get Hasbro exclusives now.

Wow glad I sold my TFCC Seacons back a while ago! haha so whos doing a Melbourne group order :D
HLJ: "While we do carry a vast array of transformers goods, we do not carry the Hasbro items. "
Well, robot kingdom it is then.
Battle Unicorn was never sold in Japan by Takara in the Beast Wars Returns line, so that would make him a Hasbro markets exclusive toy - but in the same vein as other BM toys that were never released for BWR such as Buzzsaw, Longhorn, Nightviper, Scavenger, Mirage, Blast Charge etc.
From TFwiki:
"Battle Unicorn had an exceptionally short "shelf life", leading to many fans never seeing him on the shelf at all. However, Hasbro worked out a deal with online toy store Big Bad Toy Store, selling them solid cases of the figure (which managed to fill their warehouse for a good eight years)."
From an Australian POV, like many later BM toys, Battle Unicorn was never released here.
Looks like we get the cheaper price AND early release date,
and save a sheer FORTUNE on scalper shipping

That's twice now that people are reposting things that others have already posted on the same page. Seriously guys, have a read of threads first.
Since it's going to ship very, very soon, should we consider a group order?
I'll join in for a Sydney group order. :)
man it's all too tempting. nice to see the G1 repaints of Devastator and the Seacons look sick!
Then somebody (NOT ME, I don't know how to do all of this) should organise a Sydney group order QUICK SMART since it's shipping in a fortnight.
hmm i wonder if takara are going to get their hands on this??? I also wonder if there was ever a diecast version of this mold around anyone know????
Heh noticed this in a recent BBTS email. This set is going really cheap! I can definitely see people going nuts for this. Expecting a drop in the $300US pricetag on complete G1 originals?
This is great news for people who don't have them yet. They're damn awesome...even more so with a shiny chrome sword :p
So I take it nobody wants to initiate a group order?
And is it just me, or is this set (under $60 retail) WAY too cheap for a G1 combiner? Think of the last encore release of the combaticons.
It is pretty cheap, but not exceptionally so... Bruticus retailed for 7350Y but could be had for around 6000Y most places.
I would normally jump on a reissue that I don't have, but I really do have a thing about getting Takara releases..
Oh well, who am I kidding, I will import this after my upcoming trip.
The Singapore guys are TFW are ordering this into Singapore at AU$55 per piece, inclusive shipping. What an absolute bargain price.
Looks like I came back just in time, this is exciting news.
If enough of these sell it might indeed encourage further reissues of combiners.
I'm pretty interested in getting this, depending on my savings.
So, anyone going to organise a Sydney group order?
I would think about it but I've been absent for awhile so I figure I might wait till I've been back awhile before doing this stuff again.

No apparent rub symbols either. Anyone else who has these confirm?
Would be good to ID sets trying to pass off as genuine vintage.
There are a few different paint apps that was mentioned in another thread so they shouldn't be that easily mistaken for vintage. And don't forget that rubsigns can be bought through reprolabels.
Pictures at TFW of this set.
Overbite looks terrible. What happened to his dark purple? Snap Trap's head is green...
yeah not digging that green head on snap trap. the pink shark is ok i guess. Hmm makes me wnder if takara is going to release a more accuare version of this toy. I reckon they will.
I think some of us would be praising the changes. Fans have praised changes made to reissues before, e.g.:Quote:

+ reissue Action Master Optimus Prime's colours crap all over the original. :)
+ a lot of people prefer the new face and eye colours on reissue Wheelie
+ quite a few people are excited about the metallic gold decos on the upcoming Predaking reissue
...so it's not necessarily people hating the change just because it's different.
G1 bias aside, objectively speaking they do look dull compared to the original colours because they don't provide as much contrast. Original Snaptrap's turqoise head is offset by his black head, and the yellow eyes also better contrast against black. The turqoise head here just blends in with the same-colour chest and the yellow eyes don't contrast as well (since yellow is closer to blue/green). This new Overbite has way too much magenta which looks quite bland compared to the original which was predominantly purple which was accented by the magenta upper arms and fists.Quote:

Having said all that, the changes don't bother me too much as I already have the original Seacons. I really want the reissue for the Piranacon parts, and I actually like the chrome sword (IMO that's an improvement over lavender). I intend on displaying the reissues as Piranacon and my original Seacons as individual robots anyway. :)
Yeah i see that opinions can and are of course allowed to differ. Even i prefer the purple (though arguably Piranacon is more unified now since there was never any other purple). And i also prefer the chrome sword.. the black head i'm indifferent on. But they're mostly arbitrary changes, so saying it looks Terrible just struck me as an odd thing to say - i'm not one to pull out dictionary excerpts but here's one for good measure :p
Though, knowing heroic_decepticons collecting tastes, i guess if anyone was truly going to think it was terrible, it'd be him :)Quote:

However having said that, if I didn't already own a complete 1988 G1 Piranacon, I would certainly go for this set. If the new colors continued to bother me, I would simply try to acquire a loose vintage Snaptrap and Overbite of Ebay. Loose Seacons with no accessories can be very cheap.
