October Acquisitions

This is actually from September. Have had the car for 3 weeks now but yesterday was the first time I've driven it. :o

My parents recently sold their old house and decided to use part of the money to help pay for my sister's mortgage and a new car for me. :cool: I will never be able to afford a Camaro so went for the next best thing, a yellow Suzuki Swift.

I have a manual licence but didn't use to own a car and haven't driven for many many years. Been relying on public transports and lifts from friends. So when we went to the car dealer to pick up the car I let my sister drive it home for me. I was hoping the car dealer didn't see that but he did... :o

The secretaries at uni suggested that I should apply for a custom plate myself for birthday, so we went to a licencing centre to enquire. Of course, good combinations such as "BUMBLEBEE", "BUMBLBEE", "BMBLEBEE", "BMBLBEE", "BUMBLEB" etc were all already taken. Then my sister suggested using the number "3" as a substitue for "E". Now my final plate is "BUMBL3BEE".

Thank you 1orion2many, for thinking that a bright yellow car is "too happy" and bought me a George Michael CD as a present for the new car. I will have my revenge soon, very soon...

(Actually, all the people who don't know about Transformers have all questioned my taste in colour and now give me funny looks... :o)

Congrats Kyle, the Swift is an awesome small car, been trying to talk my missus into buying one for a couple of months now, and they look good in yellow (it suits it, just like the new dark green suits the new commodores).

And I hope you blast out that George Michael CD from the car, that should get you some awesome looks from pedestrians! :p

I agree with that. Swifts are great cars. I managed to convince my sister to buy one (translate have Mum and Dad buy her one) Just a pain in the arse to work on... You need real small hands.

Who cares about other's who think it's an odd colour! Love it! I would drive one anyday. Once saw one that had the 2 black strips in the centre.

I also have a Bumblebee stuck on my dashboard with blue tag - Animated Activator Bumblebee. But do note due to sun and atmosphere exposure, the joints do get loose over time. I used to also have G1 bumblebee stuck on the dash board, but the tyres melted!

My first acquisition for the month of October - 37 Transformer Marvel UK comics (issues 182, 183, 184, 185, 187, 241, 242, 243, 244, 245, 246, 248, 249, 250, 251, 253, 254, 256, 257, 258, 259, 260, 261, 262, 263, 264, 267, 268, 270, 271, 272, 273, 274, 275, 276, 278 and 279). These were all purchased from Sydney based eBay seller nb1872. It was probably the smoothest transaction I have ever experienced.

Unfortunately I still don't have the posters that came with issues 320 - 322 therefore if anyone has them and is willing to help me out, I'd be forever grateful :) We could even arrange for a trade if you are missing any of the above issues.

I worried about yellowing of the plastic... but then I figured the toys themselves are already yellow... :p

Thanks for the note about melting tyres. I might get some sort of sun shade to cover the dash when parking under the sun.

I can attest to the melting tyres... I had a Cliffjumper keychain reissue which I left inside my glove compartment during summer and all the tyres melted!

Yellow will still fade btw. So after a while the yellow might end up looking like the yellow on this punch buggy...

And plastic melts too. dirge had a clear WARS Spychanger which he had on the dashboard of his old car... and that thing ended up melting (much to dirge's amusement ;)).

That's bad, I have Silverstreak Alternator on my dashboard :( Melts even in the glove compartment? :( I need to take my TF with me when I leave the car then.

Takara Transformers Animated - Optimus Prime & Rodimus Clear Version
-Love the crystal which makes me want to get henkei rodimus in crystal too but I dont like that mold of optimus...
-Animated Optimus is pretty simple but looks really good. Rodimus is terrible to pose. I really dont like the limited articulation of his shoulders and elbows and his legs are just annoying. His robot mode does look really good though and reminds me of marvels hawkeye, but annoyed his arm cant reach around his chest.

Hasbro Transformers ROTF Master of Metallikato - Whirl Vs. Bludgeon Box Set
-I like bludgeon the most of this set. a really good mold and redeco of Wreckage. Whirl has the same issues with transforming the cockpit. Looking forward to headrobots upgrade set.

Transformers Music Label Black Soundwave (SoundBlaster) MP3 Player
After reading people's thoughts on what the best 'Classics Soundwave' is, decided to finally get this. i really like the design but this definately does not feel like a toy as it seems too fragile. I really like to play with my Transformers :)

TFC EX-002B Shadow Rollar
Horrible build quality. Rollar is just super floppy and his wheels are too big and just get in the way of everything. the legs on the one i have keep falling off from slight play.

I will take photos when I can find my camera as i've been using a phone camera for a while now :/

Nah, he didn't melt - the shoulders loosened though, as the plastic broke down in the joints.

Black chase Landcross is a looong-standing holy grail that I've finally completed. Multiforce is the most underrated gestalt team in Transformers history. So many others get all the love, but here is a team that can transform into thirty-seven different robots of three varying scales. He's a bombful of shrapnel.

A better picture of B'Boom/Apache's attack mode. This toy is so awesome - he has three completely independent heads. That's even better than Animated Blitzwing!

It is indeed an awesome toy. He's my equal favourite of the pre-Transmetal Megas alongside Inferno. :) Ya know, I didn't discover the rub sign on that toy until over a month after I got it! That's gotta be one of the most obscure insignia locations on a TF toy ever!

I did notice the rubsign was there and 'revealed the shield', but I also thought it was a bizarrely hidden place for it to be. I love almost all of those early Beast Wars Mega moulds. Polar Claw, Scorponok and Inferno are great toys with fun gimmicks.
