Catastrophe averted. We are safe from the second comming of AM Thundercracker for now.....:D

Now I am going to have to get Acid Storm again ...
Great news Hasbro. Just need to re-release Skywarp on a single card (maybe in Classics 4)
Does anyone think this will have an impact on the Takara Thundercracker?
If Dirge and Thrust are any indication... for sure.
After Kup, Scourge, Jazz and now Thundercracker (and I'm sure there are others), I will most likely not bother buying Botcon Classics-ish toys any more, especially if they're major characters, as it now seems pretty certain that Hasbro or TT will eventually provide. Personally, I think that's a much more preferable option, as FunPub hasn't done anything for me lately (read: ever), and obviously the mass market price is considerably better.
Remaining Botcon Classics-ish characters I can think of that haven't hit mass market:
Sharkticon
Dreadwind
Bug Bite (obscure character)
Any others?
A Generations Dreadwind would rock, but I wonder how many fans it would tick off. Plus we got Darkwind not a year ago.
Still I'd love to see Hasbro make a combining Dreadwing.
AM Thundercracker would have made a great Botcon toy this year, seems weird they didn't go for it, maybe they are saving him for the TF club.
One thing I just realised is that those official images are usually over-coloured, so the actual Thundercracker may well end up being a lighter shade of blue. Probably not as light as the cartoon version, but could end up being a different enough colour from the BotCon or JP versions to help them keep their uniqueness/value.
And perhaps FunPub's exclusives/redecos are like a catch-22 - they want them to be popular enough to sell out, but if they are too popular, Hasbro might see the value in releasing them to the general market.
When TC reaches aussie stores I probably can't be stuffed trying to find Starscream or Skywarp molds because of their current rarity and price and will now buy 3 TCs and repaint 2 of them! Or should it be 4 for Sunstorm too? WOO!
I'd agree with all of those.
And in the cases of Springer, Ratchet, Ironhide, Kup & Scourge, they've all seen after-Botcon mass-market releases (although Springer as only a repaint). The first four are a bit more obscure, but I wouldn't be surprised if we eventually see a mass-market Huffer.
To me, something like AM or G2 Thundercracker would be so much more suited to a Botcon release. It's more obscure, has considerably less mass-market appeal and considerably more hardcore-fan appeal.
i wish id never sold my Henkei Ramjet now... :(
Another TF bought for next year :D

God dammit, time to find me a Ramjet and Skywarp...
This entire wave is awesome, I'll have no money soon enough though! :(
Even though I too own Gentei TC, I will still buy this release. Now I just need Thrust to have a complete set of Universe Seekers. I'll still keep my exclusive figures though.
It's funny that people forget that at the time the Botcon set was released Hasbro had no plans to continue the Classics line. It was an interim line with limited mould designed to tide people over until the movie. Cue the 2007 movie, all efforts were being placed in that, and therefore no Classics toys were on the horizon, so FunPub asked if they could pick up the slack and Hasbro actually tried to do right by the fans by saying yes to FunPub.
Now that Hasbro's plan seems to be to alternate between a Movie line and a Classic line, there is a greater desire from within Hasbro to complete certain collections of figures (eg: the seekers, the Autobot cars, etc).
With that all said, the TC images look awesome! And again following in Hasbro's behaviour of homaging the orignal toy rather than necessarily copying the show model.
This makes me laugh.
I'm pretty sure a petition to release Thundercracker to mass-market, (obviously not needed now), would garner a hell of a lot more votes.
Haha I love some of the peoples names. None that I can post here :p
Ditto on the names :D
Wow..petition? really? Decision for Hasbro: Benefit a very small minority by not releasing and make a potential loss or benefit majority and profit?- Yes very hard decision. As if that would change any plans for Hasbro to release- considering the figs are probably in production already.

At the end of the day, yes the exclusive figures will loose a little value but they're still going to be worth far more, Hasbro will only benefit from releasing the figure so that renders the whole argument moot - like gdmetro said. ;)
I like how someone signed the petition under the name of Julian Assange. :p
All right, some of the comments on that petition seem a bit too offensive to me. But the Idea of keeping Thundercracker as an exclusive is only marginally less offensive. I will be eternally grateful to Hasbro for the Classics/Universe 2.0/Generations line. So you won't see my name on that petition or a colourful euphemism either.
QFT
At this point, nobody not even Hasbro knew that the Classics line would continue. They changed their mind shortly afterwards but the official stance at the time was that Classics were over, finished.
Yeah some crazies bought their seekers at US$300 a pop but there is no point in crying over spilled milk and we now have enough experience to judge on the likelyhood of Hasbro recreating an exclusive character for the mass market.
New petition:
Hasbro, get Thundercracker's colours right!
Dear Hasbro,
It has come to our attention that you are releasing the Classics Starscream mould as Generations Thundercracker. Unfortunately, the photoshopped colours are completely wrong - you've made him white where he should be purple or teal, black where he should be fluorescent green or GPS gold, dark blue where he should be hot pink etc. In summary, it's a complete shemozzle. But hopefully it is not too late, and you can correct the colours for the final release. If not, please forward this petition to TakaraTomy so at least they can get the United version right.
Yours faithfully,

wow the petition says the were duped into paying more?!?!
that's such a stupid claim. nobody ever forced the the world to go to botcon to pay a lot of money for exclusive figures. either you want it or you dont.
