I remember that one circulating among fans online in the mid 90s... apparently because it was in a letters page in the UK Marvel comics.
Should I open or sell Generations Windblade, I have the Legends version on preorder?
Wait till you get both and see which looks better in-hand.
Is anyone having trouble transforming their RiD Legion class Strongarm (and to a lesser extent, Bumblebee with arms)? The legs on mine keeps popping off during transformation, as if it's QC issues? Mine was first batch from Amazon, and if most others are fine I'll just buy some new ones.
Just checked #92 and it's not there... I'm missing the other #90s, so it must be in one of those issues. Just noticed that one of the letters is from a guy in Cardiff. Made me think of a transformers torchwood cross over. :p
mine are fine. Purchased locally.
Just checked my issues and it was in issue 93's letter page. I remember learning about the kodak box from the comic way back when and then checking out an Octane at Target and seeing it was true.
(Also was this meant to be in the 'things you never realised about TFs thread?)
And PS just because Optimus Prime is a 4 million year old robot from Cybertron, it wouldn't stop Captain Jack flirting with him. ;)
Anyone ever get a Transformer that smells bad? My Legends Whirl I got on Wednesday smells terrible, its some sort of plastic, chemical or paint smell. Really strange. I hope that like a new car smell it will fade, but I'm thinking of emailing BBTS to let them know incase I have to return it.:(
Some can have a residual chemical smell, depending on how sealed they are and how much paint is on them.
The RID Tiny Titans had a strong smell to them, and being in sealed bags didn't help.
Question for our resident Japanese readers. This is the box for Legends Rattrap and clearly names the character as Rattrap not Rattle in English. Does it refer to him as Rattle or Rattrap in the Japanese text?
https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7555/...3e53785e_b.jpg
It says Rattle, at least in the big text!
Ah, so they haven't completely abandoned Japanese continuity names yet.
From what I've read, English names are western versions, Japanese are the Japanese names.
The katakana there clearly says Rattoru, the closest thing they have to saying Rattle. I think all of their Legends line are like that.
Yup. Also, the English "Transformers" logo is in a G1 style font, whereas the Japanese "Transformers Legends" font is using the Japanese Beast Wars font. ;)
Does anyone know where I can find a translation of the manga in Generations 2014 Volume 1 - Shouki s manga? I just got my Shouki toy and book, and would like to understand why he has an autobot logo in train mode but a Decepticon logo in shuttle form. Similarly for the Masterpiece Controverse story at the end of the book.
I tried the Google translate app, but it doesn't support Japanese :(
I've not seen a full translation, but I can answer your main question. Shouki has a Decepticon symbol in shuttle mode because he (an Autobot Trainbot) and Daniel are in disguise as the Decepticon Skystalker and his shuttle (well the Japanese version called Thunder Arrow technically).
There were discussions about Shouki's dual homages in the News topic. Not sure about a translation of the story yet, but someone at Allspark or SydneyY on TFW are the likely ones to do it.
This just for my collection record keeping. Is the first wave of CW from 2015 or 2014?
2015
Did FOC Thundercracker get a local release?
I don't think we saw any Generations releases between waves 1 and 3 of FOC (I've seen Optimus, Shockwave and Starscream I stores, no one else from the FOC series) and Combiner Wars
The RID cartoon today has sold me on getting the toys even tho they don't fit my collecting rules. (rules are made to broken, right?)
What are the differences between TAV and RID paint wise and is the TAV all Warrior class (+ figures from other lines) or do they have some smaller figures?
TAV and RID toys look pretty much the same from the promo pics. They have Fixit in the TAV line that's a one step changer in the Hasbro releases, otherwise all warriors (or Deluxes from other lines).
The RID toys are begging for some more paint apps, little highlights and such, but haven't seen pics to show TAV does that.
Has anyone bought the official stickers for their MP's? Have the soundwave set and there are a few that i don't know where they go. Searched for placement of them but can't find anything. :(
The ones that are done by Ocean Designs, they have been selling them online for a while now. Might not be official as they say, but have the hasbro logo on them. This is a pic of them.

According to Ryan the owner of Seibertron they are not official and are using Hasbro's logo, etc without permission. It was said on a recent Seibertron podcast (sorry I don't know which number it was). If I recall right he spoke with Joel from BBTS who refused to go on record that they are official. Hasbro has said nothing about them being official.
I thought they might not have been released by Hasbro as there is no imstructions for the placement of the stickers, have check multiple sources to find something on these and have found nothing for them. So it looks like you have to guess where they go.:(
Is it safe to say that the IDWverse and aligned continuity are separate to the Multiverse? What are my fellow members thoughts on this?
They are all part of the Transformers Multiverse.
IDWverse has recently been pulling (bad) stuff in from the Aligned-verse, and both are alternate versions of the original G1 group of alternate realities.
I don't but I've nearly purchased them several times, what are your thoughts on their quality and how well they improve the figures appearance?
that's interesting, as the listings on BBTS specifically call them out as official.
I am sure i read somewhere that hasbro does not consider the aligned continuity part of the multiverse?
I will ask google to see where i read that.
Also doesn't the multiverse take into consideration of singularities?
edit: http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Multiverse see notes down the bottom
I think the original point of the "multiverse" when it was developed by Simon Furman, was just the most plausible way of linking to ANY universe of Transformers that was needed to justify the use of conflicting toy characters or plot concepts in a particular story... EVEN if some entity like an unnamed/uncredited Hasbro employee says that a particular story universe is NOT part of the multiverse at that particular time.
(meaning, if someone says their story doesn't apply from the perspective of their new story universe, it can still work from the perspective of whoever is writing about the multiverse... in case those other authorised/licensed writers ever need to tap into that story, its concepts or its characters later - so that from one story universe (the multiverse) you can see and access the other, but not from the other direction... like a one-way mirror)
As for the stickers - I think asking Hasbro HK would be the only way to find out for sure if they are legit. There are just too many "reliable" sources that are saying yes AND no, to know for sure... and we've seen how good knockoffs can be with their packaging, so what's stopping a non-toy item from having counterfeit fineprint on their packaging.
They do look good on the MP's, but they are like water transfers which i found are very delicate. They are on a white backing with the clear sticker on top, which you have to cut out, place and then pull off the clear sticker. But they do improve the look of the MP's a great deal with the soundwave stickers they are the mainly the printing on the sides with the volume control and output jacks, ect. When in robot mode they are on the bottom of the feet so you really don't see them. Overall if you have the patience they do look good.Quote:

Great feedback, thank you. I feel that prowls robot mode could handle a few extra decals.
I do, I'm probably not a great reference though since they hold great nostalgia for me, it was my first Botcon. :o
What other animated figures do you have?
What animated figures do you prefer?
How do you feel about doubles of a mold?
Have you read the convention comic? that will probably effect how you feel about them.
