Waiting for Supergirl Flash Arrow crossover!
Watched the new McCalleff show last night "The Ex-PM"
It's not bad, though he never shines in this format as much as he does when doing shows like Newstopia and Mad as Hell. Francis Greenslades character in the new show is pretty funny though.
Sin City movie is currently showing on GO! (channel 99)
Just watched episode 4 of the current season of Supernatural. Very interesting as the episode is shot entirely in or around the Impala. Good choice of music for that episode too. Love "Night Moves"
Sleepy Hollow continues to entertain with the antics of Ichabod Crane getting used to modern society. Where I'm up to he sees two men holding hands in a restaurant and gasps "They allow that?!" His partner then goes on to explain how over the course of time it has become socially acceptable and they have even passed law allowing gay marriage. Ichabod retorts with "I'm well versed with the acceptance of homosexuality. I'm referring to the fact that the gentleman on the left is wearing a hat while eating dinner":p
^ Two shows that I have to catch up on.
Ash VS Evil Dead..... if you liked Army of Darkness, you'll dig this! Groovy! ;) lol
It's so good even my wife likes it, and she normally doesn't like those over-the-top bad stuff hahaha. One of the best lines is in the first ep. Could not stop laughing at it. Second ep was damn good too. Can't wait to see more. Funny how it got renewed for a second season even before first ep was shown haha.
Also watching Z Nation atm, has captivated me so I have to keep watching lol.
At the request of some of my mates, we started watching Blue Mountain State. Your typical college comedy really, but is quite fun to watch.
And for a bit of retro action, been watching Batman: The Animated Series again because no other dc movie/tv show will ever be as good as that, but Batman Beyond certainly takes a close second place.
Yesterday finished watching Daredevil s1 ep2 and gee that fight at the end is one of the best 1 vs. many fights I've seen in a long time.
Well watched Batman beyond and The Batman lately, I wish they would make a batman cartoon like assault on arkahm (aimed at teens/adults)
There was some CGI thing they used to show on Nine (or Go) late at night. Pretty sure that was aimed at an older audience
What you need to do is find the original Batman The Animated Series from the 90s. There was the best Batman cartoon ever, enjoyable for teens and adults, and bonus Batman and Joker have the same voices as in Arkham Asylum. :)
I've just started watching Batman The Animated Series.
Very enjoyable.
Beware The Batman is the CGI show. Caught an episode or 2 on tv so went out and bought the dvds. Is aimed at an older audience. Probably why it got canned. Was actually good we thought.
And if you want dark Batman stuff, might I suggest The Dark Knight Returns cartoon movie. They separated it into 2 parts but you can track down a release that put it back together. You'll notice alot of references of this Frank Miller story in the upcoming movie. Kinda why I am excited for the live action movie because this comic story is just brutally awesome. And Year One is also another Frank Miller story, great cartoon and worth watching too.
And another dark comic that is being made into a cartoon movie is The Killing Joke. It is the origin story of the Joker and it is quite quite brutal. And topping it off, they've given it a go ahead for an R rating, only way it can be done if you've read the comic. And if that ain't enough, Conroy and Hamill will reprise their iconic roles. Hamill, while retired from the Joker, always said he would come back for this role. Tim Burton, and a number others, have cited this story as inspirations.
Sorry for the essays, but I am a massive Batman fan
I loved all the Arkham games. Even though the panned Origins, mostly for the controls, the story was great. When Knight was coming, I played through Origins Asylum and City all again. I love that the games all have massive references to the comics all through them. Knight was a little dissapointing due to the heavy reliance on the Batmobile, but storywise again it was just awesome. Wish they went with Jean Paul Valley as Azrael, but he was the old comics while Michael is the new Azrael.
Speaking of which, I would love to see Knightfall done as a cartoon movie, or 3 because of how damn long it is. Probably my favourite Batman stories of all time, which I was reading the TPB only to realise it is missing a massive amount of comics. So I am on the hunt for the ones I need to complete the story. Damn these publishers for having a great story arc spanning a number of comic titles
One of the SBS channels is converting to a Food Channel tomorrow.
As if we need more reasons to inspire people to eat more or try more different foods, in one of the fattest nations in the world.
That's partially true. His origin was revealed in 1951 in Detective Comics 168. In the story, Batman and Robin try to solve the case of The Red Hood. They track him down and he tells them the story that he stole the outfit from the real red hood and started to use it himself. He takes them to where he had Joker tied up and Joker reveals his story that when he jumped into the vat of chemicals to escape Batman, he became transformed. This was reused and updated in 1988 with The Killing Joke.
But there have been a few other origin stories that have been done since, so really there is no one right correct story. Much like how in Nolan's Dark Knight, the Joker tells a different story each time.
Watching Jessica Jones. Interesting how they make it so dark and gritty but keep it in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. David Tennant is very creepy in it.
Limitless and Fresh off the Boat
Just started watching The Last Man on Earth. My sort of comedy. It's being shown on Channel One but I think I might start binge watching it on Hulu.
Up to episode 5 of Jessica Jones. So good! They make Kilgrave feel like an incredibly dangerous threat, without him being an "take over the world" type villain that the Avengers would go up against.
3 episodes before we got our first "Sweet Christmas" from Luke Cage. Straight after coitus with the titular character. I lol'd.;)
I had a chuckle at that bit too :D
New trailer for Legends of Tomorrow. Coming late Jan. Very excited for this one.

Also watching SAS: Who Dares Wins on SBS. 30 civilians going through British Special Forces selection. Given my new career path I find this show very interesting.
Watched Episode 1 of Jessica Jones last night.
Awesome.
OK... so it sounds as though I'll have to add Jessica Jones to the list. Is it easy to follow for someone not familiar with the fiction?
This weeks Walking Dead ended on a cliffhanger for next weeks mid season finale. Can't wait!:D
The real question is where the heck is a new Underbelly? Been so long!
Into the badlands looks so promising.... i love the fighting , done like the HK movies...and a sword carrying hero in red leather trench coat looks badass...
I'm so hooked on Ash v The Evil Dead. Best show of 2015!
So I finally got around to watching Daredevil. It was okay and ended with enough loose threads and secrets in the trio of protagonists to make this seem like the writers are in this for the long haul.
Vincent D'onofrio looks the part and is very convincing as Fisk but who decided this petulant child with a penchant for homocidal tantrums could lead let alone be a partner of a crime syndicate? The entire season seems to be a deconstruction of his character from the untouchable Kingpin to the fat kid that got teased at school. How he ever held it together long enough to convince the criminal underworld that he wouldn't spectacularly self-destruct is completely lost on me. Long enough to build a criminal empire that included half the cops, mass media and at least one Senator. HOW?
He did because no one challenged him and his power until Matt came along. They were all too scared of him, and looking at how he treated people he was unhappy with (with his own bare hands) no wonder!
But how did he rise to power in the first place? Nobody wants to work with the crazy fat kid. You saw how everyone was distancing themselves from him as his world fell apart. Nobody wants to promote that kind of guy up the ranks. His uncontrollable rage would limit him to a mere thug in the hierarchy. Nobody thinks 'this here is a criminal mastermind of the future and he should be in charge'.
