I had to hold myself back from grabbing that 4x4 Crawler. I convinced myself I couldn't get it today since my arms we full.

Picked up:
- Monster Fighters Haunted House (Pending build)
- VW Camper Van (Wow! A Masterpiece. Everything good about Lego)
- Mini Modular Buildings (This is probably my favorite. Have built 3 out the 5 buildings)
Just another handful of sets to get when the majors start their sale.
Got the LotR Black gate and the TMNT Shredder Cycle from the Big W sale.
Shredder Cycle is awful, even worse than the Sewer Tumbler set. Only bought it as it was on sale, and to buy just the Donatello and Shredder figures I wanted would have cost about the same after shipping.
Black Gate, like all the newer sets looks very small; however, the box is very heavy. Cannot wait to build it, will have to look for a figureless set off ebay to get on the cheap to complete the gate properly.
Two galaxy squad sets, for my lil cousins birthday though:o:p
Finally put together the hobbit hole "unexpected gathering" set over the last two days. Brilliant construction and interesting straight up build, unlike many of the LotRsets which have some clever sideways building.
Ordered LotR Orthanc from the lego website yesterday, so hoping it arrives in the next week so I can build before going back to work!
Of course as school goes back and I thus go back to fulltime work (yes, teachers do work over their holidays!) Orthanc arrived today.
I'm glad it was free shipping because this is one big heavy box. Wont be able to make it for weeks now, but it will look awesome sitting in my loungeroom!
How'd you get free shipping from the Lego store!?
I recently picked up the following:
* Lego Monster Fighters Haunted House
* Arkham Asylum Breakout
* TMNT Baxter set (April! Baxter! yay!) (fun lil build - first proper experience with Lego mechs)
* Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape (Harley! Riddler! yay!) (fun little build with a cute little cart that works on those train tracks)
I think it was a deal with the Orthanc set, didn't do anything special, when I added it to the cart it told me I qualified for free shipping.
Does that mean I can get the sail barge shipped here for $150 without shipping?!?!? AVAILABLE NOW!!!
Not quite. It appears to be one of those $149.99 deals.
I'm sure you can find something else to go with it.
Picked up 9469 Gandalf Arrives from Kmart. A nice and easy build after UCS R2D2 :)
Cause thats the power of.......

While this is rather simplistic and certain thing could of been better it is a fun little build, i really wish Marty and Doc Brown were customisable aswell for the different movies, or different minifigs were included Future Marty with hoverboard, future doc with trench coat a wild west doc with cowboy hat and a poncho wearing Marty (clint Eastwood) with a frisbee pie tin accessory would of been aweesome
FUN
^ was going to buy the BTTF set for a christmas present but the $30 shipping killed that idea.. then again, if somebody else wants lego and i can double the order to $150 for free shipping it would be worth it.
DJs had 20% off LEGO yesterday, and since they seem to be the only one that carries the modular sets, I got the Palace Cinema.
Possibly my one and only modular series set due to their prices. :)
TMNT single figures Leo, Mikey & Raph, from Crankcase
With all of the euphoria surrounding the Lego movie practically everywhere I digitally go :D, I thought I'd see if I could find any of the old sets I used to have (Or wanted) as a kid  - then if I could afford any of it! :p
Low and behold I did and thus far I've placed 3 orders with a particular seller, the 1st of which arrived on Wednesday!:D
http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psb020b43a.jpg
I've only built 3 out of the 5 sets in this 1st order, but here are some pics anyway ;):
- Blacktron II: Super Nova II

http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps31883c84.jpg
I can't believe what I've managed to find, nor can I wait for it all to arrive! :p
I quite liked Lego back in the day but never to the same degree as Transformers or Ninja Turtles, so the few Lego sets I used to have were quite cherished until the parts were all lost to the 4 corners of the abode that also housed 2 younger siblings.
So coupled with my recent dablings with "Alien Conquest" & "Monster Fighters" lines, along with quite a lull in my TF collecting of late - I decided to throw some money at some older sets and re-live a small part of my childhood. :D:cool:
Very nice pick up. Those Blacktron sets can be very popular.
I don't doubt, I loved the theme & colour-scheme as a kid - there was a lot to love with it :)...
...but there was also a lot to love with the following series too ;):D:
- U.F.O: Radon Rover
http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps058e3210.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...pscea459bf.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psa2369ef2.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps578eade2.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5e76b756.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps135f603f.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psac019944.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psb141fb6b.jpg
http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps36f45778.jpg
The Radon Rover was probably my favourite set as a kid, I remember pulling it apart and rebuilding things with it countless times - Just pure awesome! :D:cool:
I do remember always looking at the catalogue & toy shelves at the time, yearning for something more - That feeling wasn't ever satiated, until last week when the yearning was finally quenched...
Finally my order for Simpsons had arrived! Hurray!!! Took like 2.5 weeks
Here's something for the classic space fans out there (shameless plug)
http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=4380
So I finally got around to constructing & photographing the final kit to Order #1 :D
This is one of the "Drooled over as a kid" sets that I'm really pleased with and excited to finally own ;):), behold!:
- U.F.O: Warp Wing Fighter
http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0b868895.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psf0e13296.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psd4855644.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psea5ebb15.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7fb036aa.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psf88f79f6.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psac4b9d8a.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps21f37988.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2f9221a4.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psfab60504.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psfb4dfe89.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psbc5681e4.jpg
http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...pse4ead1a2.jpg
...and thus crowns the completion of Order #1; 3 out of the 5 of these sets were revisits to kits I once owned as a kid, but all 5 have been extremely fun, relaxing & cathartic experiences. ;)
http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps08f356d0.jpg
Now, to begin Order #2...
I like the big ufo ship! :D The alien creature looks cool:cool:
Hehe, cheers man - I did too when I was a kid and this set was on-shelf, it was one I always wanted but was never to be in my grasp... until now that is! :D
Okey doke, time to get a kick-on with Order #2, comprised of 3 kits, which arrived on Tuesday :
http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psd27e4050.jpg
Beginning with this one, it's only partially complete so the search continues :o; but this kit is one of the earliest, if not the first, Lego sets I ever received as a child - so this's a heavy nostalgia trip for me. :p
- System (6662): Backhoe
http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps469b1634.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps92e489b9.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps12d7c6b8.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5e1508ee.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psc17342e0.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps243cf625.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7c829826.jpg http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...psff7a0dcc.jpg
http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps57bc0672.jpg
...in just before the end of the day! :D
This is one I direly wanted as a kid, the catalogues teased me and seeing him in store would always bring me to despair as he would stare down from the shelf, just out of reach both physically and fiscally. :o
On Tuesday he finally fell into my grasp... all the way from Germany! :D:cool:
- Spyrius: Recon Robot w/ spyrius chief: Major Kartofski

http://i1032.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7cc66866.jpg
I absolutely love this guy, he's great for so many reasons; he can be autonomous or mecha, he's got a little storage compartment within the front of his pelvis, oh! and his articulation!
Though it may be dated now, his articulation in the arms and claws/graspers show that Lego was at least trying and that great things were to come. ;)
He's a really fun build too as you start with just this rather flat set of rolling stock/wheels, then all of a sudden he starts sprouting upward - BUT!
There was something else about Recon Robot, something that he suggested and that the catalogued proved...
...that there was another, and, IT was far bigger! :D - I'll have to reveal that at another time however. ;)
Nice haul, Hursti! :D
I love the Lego of old. Makes me wish i had have been able to hold onto some of my childhood pieces :( I was even considering Pick-A-Brick'ing set 600 from 1978
I've laybyd/bought a few older sets recently which were clearance, but were also on 20% off sale at Target
79109 Lone Ranger Colby showdown
79103 TMNT Lair
76007 Iron man Malibu Mansion Attack
60053 Racecar
60019 Stunt Plane
Cheers man, there's many more photos to come of the old sets I've procured to come but they'll have to wait until I've more time - in light of recent events. :o
I looked at that set you mentioned, that's classy old-school stuff there man  - I considered "Pick-A-Bricking" the parts I'd need in order to complete my Back-Hoe set... $2.57 was looking quite good for the parts until the $27 price-tag for postage was shown!:(
Here's a quick set of photos of my "Modern/Movie" related Lego acquisitions that I've obtained over the past month or so. :):
- I'd like to specially thank Paul Agnew for procuring for me what you see in this 1st pic below, he went all over the place to get them for me and I greatly appreciate his efforts. ;)

- These are from eBay:

Now I've just got to wait for the release of Benny's "Spaceship, Spaceship!, SPACESHIP!" & Emmet's "Construction Mech" and I think I'll be done with the Movie line... I'll probably also pick up the Ice-Cream Truck too because: Ice-Cream Truck. ;):D
Nice haul there, Hursti :D
$27 for postage? WTH?
I see Emmet's car. That was a ViP TrU invite only piece, wasn't it? & the Rescue Reinforcement looks really good. I'm probably goingto pick up the Ice Cream truck next month, but until then I'll just continue to admire from afar  :D
Got 15/16 simpsons figures from the local Kmart last night.... Despite a scalper hunting barts
Nice haul Hursti!, where did you manage to get Emmets car from?
Not exactly lego. picked up a few third party iron man minifigs and a deadpool. Before I get crucified for not buying legit ones, the armors I got lego havent made and to my knowledge they dont plan on making. And deadpool because I refuse to pay $20 for one minifig
