Well I just watched it again....
...and damn I don't remember it being that bad. Maybe because last time I watched it I was also playing video games and paid the littlest attention possible. There is one-story arch though that I was proud of though, but it is a major spoiler for those who have not seen it...

I'm glad that Prime Directives addressed the strained relationship between Alex Murphy and James/Jimmy Murphy, how both of them finally forgave each other by the end of the series. When the original trilogies of movies ended I wondered whatever happened to Jimmy as he would have to grow up believing his father was dead but really he had become a shining knight in armour of Detroit. I found it interesting to wonder what a son would have to go through if he thought his father had abandoned him through death (even if it was unintentional) but really his father was a hero; a hero though that had to purposely deny remembering his family to prevent hurting them because he had become a machine. Though the acting was bad between the two characters in the series, I'm just happy that this concept was finally addressed to.
You know what's even worse? I have never seen the music video and I don't know what the singer looks like and I thought - 'I reckon the music video is going to have some blonde Caucasian woman with curly hair and bad makeup like the equally-as-annoying Cascada singing in some contemporary set with many dancers groping her body "sensually".'
And what was in the music video?
Exactly everything I had predicted LOL.
It's not that I hate these singers with passion and think that whatever I listen to is 1,000,000x better, it's that these singers and their songs are played AGAIN and AGAIN which bugs the hell out of me, sure you could tell me to just change the station and turn off the radio but I have to encounter these songs whenever I listen to Hamish and Andy on the radio while driving home!
I didn't mind California Girls when it first came out, but now everytime I hear it I GO BESERK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
Went out last night, got quite drunk, got the number for a pretty psych student:cool:...and can't find it this morning.:(
Found it.:D Now I just need to figure out what to do with FA money...
You seen Halfbaked? :D
I would like to add Pitch Black to that list :D
and Clerks II as well... "There is only one Trilogy, the Star Wars Trilogy; there is only one 'return' and its Return of the Jedi." heh.
and... Mallrats, Chasing Amy...
and people in high executive positions need to spend less - company car, expenses paid travelling, able to claim meals, entertainment expense, corporate rates for hotels, etc... and if they negative gear their properties, the get the difference back in tax (which lowers their taxable income, thereby making them possibly pay less tax!). :D
I 100% agree with everything you've said here dude as I love all these movies! :D
Some may consider this to be blasphemic, but I've not yet seen Malrats, Chasing Amy or Clerks, I have seen Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob: "The Sign, On The Back Of The Car, Said Critters Of Hollywood, You Dumb F@#!" :D and Clerks II: "She's Kinky Kelly and I'm the Sexy Stud!". :p
Clerks and Chasing Amy were great.
mallrats :) is pretty good
My favourite scene from Chasing Amy was the discussion about the "crossroads" (Easter Bunny, Santa Claus etc. ;)). Stan Lee's cameo in Mallrats was awesome. :D Btw, when Kevin Smith interviewed Stan Lee for Rolling Stones magazine, he asked him the same question that Brodie had asked him about the composition of the Thing's you-know-what, and his answer was a definitive "Yes it is." (^O^)
I thought this was a venting thread  There's far too much love going on here :p
:o Well I LOVE horror movies, but last night, for some reason I totally bitched out of watching The Haunting In Connecticut!!
My gf wouldnt stop laughing...
Great movie, but I agree with her, it really got me too!!
Going to attempt The Haunting again tonight
LOL :p
I highly recommend "The Orphanage" if you guys want to see a scary movie. ;)
It's a Spanish language film that has a good story and some truly freaky scenes in it.:D
I love Horror movies, first saw Hellraiser when I was 5 :D, and The Orphanage is the first movie in a very long time to give me the creeps. :)
The last one was Steven King's: The Graveyard Shift when I was 7, bloody movie scared me so much it kept me awake all night! :p
I can watch horror movies, but I hate those that are so desperate to shock you that make you think 'Really?! Is this what it has come to? You should be ashamed of yourselves!' (i'm referring to AVP2 which isn't a horror really where the Aliens start injecting their spawn into pregnant women at a hospital)
Much like the Scream, I Know What You Did..., Grudge, Ring and Saw franchises - to me these all fall into the comedy genre. :p:D
The original Japanese Grudge and Ring series were far superior to the US remakes though and are far more enjoyable. ;)
I must admit though, I liked both AvP Movies not for their scare factor, but because they had Aliens and Predators in them - so they were instant winners for me.
(I first saw Aliens when I was 5, I've never turned back since! :D)
"Rooney's agent has intimated he won't sign a contract and wants away."
"the player says he's adamant he wants to leave"
Gutted. I feel sick and numb at the same time.
Wayen Rooney. He plays(ed) for Manchester United, a club which spends more money in a year than the entire NRL and AFL combined. Some people see him as a 'bad boy', but a damn good footballer. T'is a shame that he's leaving Man U. :(
It's surreal - United's best player last season, the player they've built the side around and given the platform to be truly world class, and one that said as recently as March that he wanted a life contract at United, now wants to leave.
And has wanted to leave since before this season started - which predates the scandal in his private life breaking, and which predates (but explains) the poor form he's found himself in this season. I love Manchester United, I can't understand how someone would go from being fully commited to the club he's been at for 6 years in March, to wanting out in August, to forcing the managers hand by publically contradicting him in October.
Most United fans expected Ronaldo to leave when he did in 2009, but our great hope at the time, affirmed by the player, was that Rooney would be here for years and was just as good. Not so, apparently. To add insult to injury any money received will probably disappear into trying to pay off the owners 600 million debt, as opposed to buying a replacement.
Lost game with 10 pt margin to an undefeated team. They're all physical and quick with a big center who knows how to play down low. :(
1/3 from 3pt land. I got to improve this percentage but I need more shots. :(
I don't get this strategy of trying to get fouls on the inside when you can't make free throws :D hahaha
My Netgear modem (yes I know it's craptacular) died last week (connection dropouts every 10 minutes). Got it replaced with another one which keeps dropping out of connection too ( but less frequently) on the first day of working. Thought it was a Bigpond error, so called them - they told me to call Netgar because nothing was wrong with their lines - I call netgear for help, they tell me to go to Bigpond.... ...FML about an hour of wasted phone time with no help on either end but my conclusions is that it's just netgear's crappy modem, judging by other 'colourful' experiences posted on the interwebs.
Thank heck I'm buying a 2wire modem from Telstra next week (same brand as my very 1st modem, I can trust it works but downside it dies after about 4 years of use). Just got to hold onto this piece of crap modem until next year where I can exchange it for a gift card to spend on something else useful...
Also a tip for any net users out there, don't buy your web hardware from DSE, I made a huge mistake doing that. I asked the people working there if the modems were good and they didn't know what they were doing apart from easily taking my $$$. That's also another thing to rant on while I'm here, what DSE is becoming - I went to my local one recently and asked for a Funway Electronics starter kit - the girl there had NO IDEA what I was talking about - Dick Smith Electronics eh? More like Dick Smith Cashsuckers...
I use a Netgear DG834g modem/router and don't get any dropouts. After about 2 years, the power cable fried itself somehow, but other than that it's been much better than the Billion and Alcatel modems i had beforehand.
Dick smith have been going downhill for years now. They are owned by the same bunch as Tandy (which have always been crappy IMO) and the two shops have been interchangeable for the last 5 years at least. Its almost getting to the point where they wo't even have circuit borads and fuses to buy. Just crappy rmote control cars and cheap (quality) electronics...
thought that method was for hard drives :) it works for modems too?
You can thank Woolworths for that, as they are the parent company of both Dick Smith and Tandy. :(
My Father went into Dick Smith a month or so ago to get some things, as he couldn't find them where they had been only a week prior, he was promptly told by a 17y/o staff member, quite obnoxiously, that Dick Smith hadn't stocked that sort of thing for months and that if he wanted it? go to Jaycar.
Woolworths has gone on record as saying it wants to compete with Harvey Norman in regards to Electronics - I guess they're gonna use Dick Smith to do it?, here I was thinking that maybe Big W was the most suitable - then I remembered that Woolworths wants to compete with Harvey Norman in White Goods too.
Did you know that Woolworths is also it's own insurance company?
(I shit you not, they are - so they can handle claims against them "Internally")
That's not unheard of though. Wesfarmers owns Coles, Target, Kmart, Bunnings, Officeworks and Harris Technology! Plus they too have an insurance division.
Indeed, it isn't unheard of though, IMO, being your own Insurance Company is quite questionable to be honest - it raises the question of who they're actually looking out for? ;)
Isn't it absurd how many businesses are under corporate umbrellas?, no wonder Australian consumers are starved for Retail Competition. :(
I have to laugh though when I hear people saying that they went to Harvey Norman, Joyce Maine & Domayne and found that all 3 stores had the exact same products for the exact same prices and still think that they are independent retailers. :p:D
What's the logic behind ebay same starting bid and buy it now price?
Day after a 2-day drinksfest = Odie feels bleurgh.
And the psych chick hasn't called back which is kinda a bummer.:(
