There was also Geodude before the first gym in GSC.

But as you can see, there was a lot more variety in both numbers and elements. In bw you get 3 normals, a dark, your starter and one of the monkeys. 6 and 3 are the same type.
Previously you had 6-8 types available to you (inc starter), now it's down to 4

Now that you guys have mentioned it, I too noticed the slim difference between types early on, hell, usually there are Bug types within the first few steps, not the case in Black anyway. :confused:

I just had to go back, as part of the story, and managed to catch one of the newest and coolest Pokemon ever!!! :eek::D:cool:

I guess it sort of does, it doesn't really make mention of any of the previous games but then it's not like it pretends that they never occurred either - It's a loose continuity of sorts. :o

I told myself I wouldn't spoil the game by looking at serebii.

Fossil time comes around.
I picked the wrong fossil, now I have bloody Zazu instead of a turtle.
Shattered.

Also, if anybody wants to help me out I have a gurdur that needs evolving (via trade...)

If I had access to a WAP that used WEP then I'd be happy to help mate - Unfortunately my WAP is utilising WPA-PSK2. :(
I hate that Nintendo has no intention of putting out a firmware upgrade for any of the DSs to use modern, safer and better security protocols! :mad:

I just downgraded my security haha! I know it isn't ideal... But you know... It's pokemon :D
