If other reviewers had a problem with the transformation, then they skipped the important bit of reading the instructions first... as the robot mode has to be positioned ready for the auto-transformation back to dino mode.
I made good of my promise in the first reply to this thread today and bought it. It was probably too expensive for what it is, but I thought what the hell, and I have to say I'm pretty happy with it. It's an impressively large toy with a good deal of interactivity. Despite clearly being marketed to kids he looks good on my shelf and is fun. My girlfriend found it disappointing that such a large toy is a one-step changer, but that's really the only criticism, and since that's half the point, it's not valid. I currently have him posed with OSC Grimlock riding him, because it amuses me.
Great review man, the thing is bigger in person, bigger than it even looks in the pics.
Well over a year ago I voted 'only if discounted to $50'....
....Just bought at $59 so guess I'm not too much of a liar :p
He's massive - really massive - and a lot of fun with all the sounds and whatnot! Like the pop-out weapons too. Liked him so much went and bought a second one for my sons birthday next year :)
Makes a good couch companion for my 4-month old :p

I've seen it in store, never realised just how big he was in bot mode
