Hmmm it just occured to me that bionicle parts could be used to make "custom Quintessons hehehe..... what with all the horror looking masks:D
Anyone know an insider at Target who knows whether Lego will be discounted like K-mart's 20% off promotion, for their big sale? My local has a few items I want but I'm not going to pay full price if I know Target will have them reduced for the sale. Hopefully the new Mars Missions will be out in time for the sale.
** shoves TF76 forward **
Page 42 shows some specific Lego stuff, but it's unclear if there will be a blanket discount.
That's pretty darn cool.
I too remember the wonder of building stuff from random lego pieces. For me, my fondest memories were building pirate ships. My parents couldn't afford to buy me those sets in my youth so i compensated by using my imagination and it was a heap of fun.
I'm surprised no one here has bought that Takara lego-ish Prime though given all the lego enthusiasts here.
You mean the "Diablock" Prime? :p

I can highly recommend the UCS Falcon. Took me 3 days to build, mainly cos I didn't take the time to organize the 5100+ pieces to begin with which would have saved a lot of time.
But a heck of a lot of fun. Looks great. Weighs more than a 6 year old.
I know what you mean. I'm not actually working atm so I had to bite the bullet with this one but as you point out 1k is a lot so the $775 is all that sweeter temptation.
Myer has 20% off all Legos at the moment so those of you thinking about the Town Plan set, its $160 during the sale ($200 regular price). Sales ends 13th July if I recall correctly. Plenty in stock at Myer Bankstown.
Plenty at Northland
ooooh nice to know that, hope my nearby myers ( Blacktown and Parra) has the Town set, Id have to put it on layby!, I need a town hall and cinema for me town coz Im too lazy to make my own from lots of the left over bricks I still have. Plus my artistic talent on making stuff with lego kinda dissapeared somehow as I aged.... :(:(
I saw the Eiffel tower too the other day. I so want it. I'm going to put the Town set on layby for my lil sister. I would love to grab all the wonders of the world too and form a massive battle scene. It'd be freaking sweet. But alas, that's a dream.
Although it's a bit pricey, you should look to Lego to grant you the "scenes" you've been looking for.
This guy makes some incredible, articulated Mechs
I built the Motorized Lego AT-AT last night!
Disclaimer: This is the first Lego set I've build since a kid, or as a teenager while babysitting another kid.
What a blast!!!!! This thing is awesome! It's a great combination of Technics (the engingeand moving legs), space lego (angle/wing pieces) and very creative uses (shovels for guns).
The walking motion is fantastic! Just like the movie. There's a step... pause... step... pause. I wish I had a to-scale Snowspeeder that it could crush. The head also moves as part of the sequence.
How many times does everyone pause in the middle of building a set while swearing that the required piece isn't there!!?!?!?! I kept pondering how I was going to call Lego because they shorted me! But of course, it always shows up. Actually though, I did get an incorrectly colored lower torso, so I will write them.
Again, first set in a while, but what memories it brought back and it might be tied to recent TF QC issues, but compared to Hasbro, what quality this brand exudes!!!! Brilliant design, no QC issues, along with incredible ideals of creativity, and smart use of brand alignment (Star Wars).
Don't get me wrong, I love my TFs, but Legos f@#$%^ng rule!
Actually if you go to the Customer Service page on the LEGO website, you can order the missing pieces from your set free of charge I believe.
All the time. :)
Yea, I also thought that I got an incorrectly coloured bit with my imperial dropship, but I found that I had used the wrong coloured bit elsewhere and it was just a mix up on my part, because with the sets these days, I have trouble of distinguishing grey from black in the instructions. The black should be black, not just a darker grey shade.

Dodge durango history
I have found with my past experiences that Lego is the best company to deal with when it comes to replacement parts.
I found that a couple of my parts broke, shot of an email and they said they were sorry about the parts breaking, so they would sent me new ones. and these were for sets that were 5 or 6 years old.
I asked once if they were going to give away or release a Bionicle mask piece (the Vahi for anyone who knows). They said they weren't going to release it down here, but sent me one anyway.
They are really really generous.
Couldn't have said it better myself.Quote:
Lego f@#$%^ng rule!
Are you going to get any more?
+1 It's hell sometimes, especially under yellow/orange light.
For the more experienced Lego Buyers here, I've bit the bullet and decided to start collecting lego too to, as Jaydisc says, grant me the "scenes" I've been looking for.
So where are the best places to buy? Is it better to buy online from a certain store or is retail the cheapest option? Or should I only buy stuff I really want from the stores and then look around on eBay for cheap lots?
Have you guys tried BrickLink?
http://www.bricklink.com
You can buy just parts, minifigures, or sets, new, used, etc.
Kinda like eBay for LEGO, but I think the prices are more reasonable.
Ive just found the Lego Town plan in my local myer and put it on layby :D. sweeeet. I even got a free oversized TF bag coz it's worth more than $50. Unfortunately I can claim the bag only once ive completely paid the layby so I wont be getting my mitts on it just yet. :(. Anyways, Ive just rearranged my small lego town adding the stuff i've had stored for months in boxes now. there's still a few more and now with the sale a few lot more on layby ( coast guard and town plan)
link here >>>>http://neilcdc.multiply.com/photos/a.../New_Lego_Town
it used to look like this >>>http://neilcdc.multiply.com/photos/album/7/Lego_Town
just need to purchase more roadplates as well :)
I only wanted to build a town before so my TFs can play Godzilla in it but its become a full blown separate hobby now hehehe, need a lot of floor space for this one though
From what I can see, the Aust. prices for new / current LEGO sets are not bad.
However if you are after older stuff (e.g. Classic Space minifigs), then usually eBay charges much more than BrickLink.
If you are buying piece by piece I think BrickLink is cheaper too than going to LEGO.com, but you need to check around the various shops on BL.
Can I ask you Lego Guys something :),
You might remember that I too used to be a Star Wars Lego guy in previous life (:D) & I had massive problems with finding room for it all (Once it's built, Lego seems to take up much more room than TFs do).
So I was wondering, Do you guys seem to have problems in finding room for it all? Especially the bigger sets, they are Massive!
I've had to clear shelves in my cupboard just to store my new renewed interest in Lego and even then, its more a storage solution than a display solution. The funny thing is, I have heaps of TFs in storage, in large drawers which I never felt the need to display but yet with my Legos, I just felt I had to display them in some capacity over my TF collection. Perhaps because I already have so many TFs on display, I just felt that I needed to break up the monotony of it all and show some variation. I'm wondering where the rest of my Legos are going to go once they arrive - I was thinking in a corner in my daughter's playroom but the missus has said no to that since I already have my own room:

Maybe I could move the missus into the garage and use our bedroom.... :p
Thanks Guys :)
I knew it wasn't just me who had/has probs in this area...
Having seen Liege's City sets & how much space they take up, I know that once they start to multiply - there's no stopping them (or TF's either :o)
I now own all of the Batman sets, except of the Ultimate Batmobile which doesn't work with minifigs.
Was tempted when I saw the Sponge Bob Rocket set at Target yesterday... :o
:p:D
I usually make a set, play with it for a bit, then I pull it to bits and put it into a ziplock bag and then into a plastic tub. :)
I saw the three house set and the krusty crab set a few months ago at target. :)
Mr Digger still hasn't sent me one of his galaxy commanders yet....

The Rocket was $50 and the Bus was $35, both sighted at Target. Will wait for the toy sale. I definitely want the Rocket. Actually I did see 2 of the earlier Sponge Bob sets in Kmart many months ago.
Yes all of them, Arkham Asylum as well. I never saw the Bat-tank and Batcopter in Perth and ended up getting them from eBay. Still have not assembled any of the 4 new sets yet. I'll begin with the Tumbler when I have time. The Killer Croc set from the first wave wasn't bad, but not many gimmicks.
You guys are actually interested in Sponge Bob sets?!?!?!

Damn Straight.
Though I personally prefer Patrick and Gary.
I got the gf the Krusty Krab set a while back because she loves Plankton,a it was the only set he was in at the time. I now have to get the new Chum Bucket set form somewhere, and the Bus from the sale.
Will have to try damn hard to hunt down the House set now, that'll teach me to pay much more attention to the Lego section from now on.
