Is there a way to rectify or withdraw my previous voting on this poll?
I believe I voted a "Not interested" but somehow now I find myself thinking of getting a big OP and Bee with Prowl and Ratchet already on my desk.:o
I can't trust myself any more :(

Quickstrike, I don't know about everyone else but in my eyes, Starscream and Megatron are the last Kreons I'd consider as the bot modes are bleeping awful. Movie Starscream looks like a nappy at the best of times, do we really need a mutant blocky nappy? Does the highly technical design of movie Megatron translate well into comparatively simple blocks? Negatron.
I'm sticking to the G1 cars at this stage. Prowl and little Bee are simply superb and highly G1 accurate (after some tinkering with Prowl). Looking forward to Sideswipe, Ratchet & to a lesser extent, Mirage, also. As for others, will wait for wave 2 most likely. Would be great to have a few more from the stranded AHM Autobot team to compliment those mentioned...Sunstreaker & Ironhide would rock!!

I think I posted this G1 Starscream mod somewhere else in this thread but meh. It's awesome so it deserves a look. Makes the official construct look like garbage.
I like the look of and the idea of these things... but I don't think I'll be getting any. I need to have some collection boundaries.
I think the biggest drawback to the line so far has been the lack of Decepticon figures in the smaller price ranges to battle the autobots.
Surely some constructicons (as in 1 or 2, so as not to worry about the combining aspect) could surely be made in Kreons so there are good and bad car/truck sets.

I just drooled at the thought of Combiner Kre-O... because like you said, it is so do-able.
Combiner sets would be easy as pie, lets hope they do get released when they have had some time to get in better modellers, most of the tweaks I've seen from board members here (especially on Prowl) have put the original design to shame.
As well as any full size sets, I'd love smaller scale combiners, where each individual componant is only made up of 20-30 bricks, for alt mode and a very basic robot mode, to instead focus on a more detailed combined mode.
Imagine the price for sets with 5 Kreons! :rolleyes:

I was most disappointed with the Optimus set. When completing the robot and base, there was heaps of parts left over.
If they were going to create a base out of left-over parts after making the robot mode, that doesn't look like anything official anyway... why not use up all the left-over parts?
I was able to almost double the size of the base, allowing for all of the mini-figures to be placed on it (see above, compared to the official image in the first post).
It just seems like a waste having those parts there and not using them if they can be used on something that isn't based on anything official.
Hopefully if they do more of these in the future, they'll ditch the ugly human companions in favour of extra Kreons. Some people on the fence about these might have been swayed if the Kreon count was higher.
I remember being disappointed back in 1999(ish) when Star Wars Lego first showed up. I was hoping for lots of Stormtrooper army building action but it was not to be due to a clause in the Lego licensing contract that basically meant each set had to have a set number of parts-to-minifig ratio maintained so as not to infringe on Hasbro's action figure contract.
But Hasbro have no such excuse with these. I challenge anyone to find me a kid or collector who wouldn't prefer a 'Grimlock' Kreon to 'Random Green Specialist Guy'.
Thought it was worth noting that it's possble to use up all of Jazz's spare parts but the spare hat in robot mode, and everything but said hat and his head in vehicle mode. I'll post pics later on.
Random observation that I can't erase from my mind: when I look at the pictures of the big Optimus set in robot mode, his feet look like he's wearing socks with thongs. Anyone else see what I mean? Or am I going nuts.

Yeah, that's right, fully transformable and fully remote controlled.
There's been Lego nutcases working on these things since 1984, you're going to have to do better than non-transformable robots with inconsistent/incoherent instructions. Let me know when you're ready to step up to the plate and take this thing seriously, Hasbro.
And why hasn't Hasbro done a remote controllable transformable transformer yet?

Finally got around to constructing Ratchet and Prowl.
Both have very nice and sturdy builds for robot modes, wiith little repetition and plenty of room for variations and adaptions as wanted/required, hoever following the instructions by the letter(picture) results in a decent looking figure.
Both vehicle modes are much simpler than I was anticipating, and left far too many bricks over, especially Prowls. Also the weapon sprue choice is brilliant, just wish there was somewhere to put all the spare weapons since they really are only made for the minifigs. Love all the tools and the stretcher or Ratchet, and all the different eapons for the SWAT member, they are nice added touches.
Certainly worth the US$ I paid for them, but I am glad (for Prowl mainly) that I did not pay the Australian retail prices. Sideswipe is the only other set that I have some inerest in, but I may wait and see on him, and hope that the next wve of figures has been modified and design better than the first wave, I am all for modification of lego based sets, but the base design should be one of the better ones.

It's not perfect but it's a very good starting point. A few alterations and this thing could be absolutely brilliant...

Finally got around to opening Starscream, Megatron and Mirage and I gotta say, I'm half/half on how I feel about this line of toys. I've always loved building bricks as a kid and have rejoined that love recently especially with Mega Bloks, but as a Transformer fan - this is somewhat disappointing that the Kreos themselves don't transform.
And the each mode leaves so many spare parts is just annoying, especially when you know that online there have been fan-made toys before that can both transform and keep all their parts regardless of their mode. Perhaps it's a matter of safety or just production costs that factor into why the Kreos don't transform but still, when trying to sell the first impressions are most important (though not always the case).
As a brick-fan, I like it. As a Transformers-fan, I'm disappointed.
EDIT: Oh god the shipping mashed up Starscream's stickers so I'm missing one and the other is completely torn. Oh well, been too long to get a replacement now!
Just picked up the Jazz and Mirage sets; in preparation of the upcoming sets unveiled at the recent NY Toyfair, I think I might add Prowl, Ratchet, Starscream and the small Bumblebee. :D

I do love the Kreons, but not so much the sets themselves. In my opinion, Takara did a better Ratchet in the eighties without even trying:
