If I bring it to the fair, I am going to have to practice transforming him better. I still struggle a bit from robot to ship but it's easy to do it from ship to robot. It could take me a while to do it too.Quote:

I just finished taking pics of Cyclops. Ended up with 38 pics! They may be too many to post but there is so much to this toy that I think they are all relevant.
I guess that I can put them all as a collage video and only post a few for my review.

Had a brief play - Plastic is FP quality and several of the individual bot engineering is unusual when compared to the regular stuff so the first transformation will seem strange but once you get the hang of it, it's great.
Something that surprise me is that although most of the guys are 'tall' deluxe size (like Classics Sunstreaker), Mixmaster and Hook are closer to voyager! However they all still display great together.
The only one who doesn't fit classics as much is Hook who almost seems as if he was designed by someone else than the other other guys; he may also be the most compromised for the combined mode. I was surprised at this as I thought the weakest would be Longhaul as he seemed to be the most compromised design but he is actually pretty awesome!
WARNING: Several combining ports and individual transformation parts have 'push' buttons that unlocks parts which can be a bit hidden in the design. If you see something that you know should separate but can't, look for a little button to push. Don't force things if they are locked as you may damage the mechanism.
As an example, my Mixmaster ended up with a funny long waist, I couldn't push it in until I realized I needed to push a button.
Had it for 6.5 hours now and still haven't opened the shipping box!!!

Overall I am impressed with the quality of this set.
The method that the limbs combine to form Giant is a bit strange, and personally I prefer the FP Colossus combination method.
That said, I felt there was care taken to ensure that all the components slotted together nicely.
It's inevitable that I'd think back to my FP Colossus and compared this with it. I think Colossus still has slightly better integration and versatility of the way it uses the components.
However, Green Giant is still a very nice set, with a good colour scheme and attention to detail. In my opinion, a definite buy if you can afford it.

All the text is in Japanese, but you do not need to be able to read it to know how to transform them. I got by fine with just looking at the pictures and observing the figures carefully (because I always think I may accidentally break something).Quote:

Unfortunately my FP Colossus is in storage deep in my daughter's room, so comparison shots are not possible - perhaps one of the other members could help you?
I found the forearms quite hard to insert into the upper arms. I had to use a lot of "controlled force" and nudge the joints together. But that was the only area where I had some issues.
The pictures on the box, along with the Japanese text gave me a sense of pseudo-authentic-official-ness, though of course I know it's an unauthorised product. :)
Sam, I think you have yours not properly transformed and connected. I can see that one leg is shorter than the other possibly due to Mixmaster's robot mode waist not being pushed in. I also fell on this trap when I first combined it and it took me a while to realize what was wrong.Quote:

However once you transform once for any figure, you don't really need the instructions any more as the design is pretty good. Are you able to show me an "exploded view" to clarify? I think the problem with mine was that the back is not connected properly - I noticed that one side is shorter than the other. The longer side I know needs to be pushed in further, but I didn't feel good about using more force (this is not the part where I need to pinch the locking tabs by the way, that part seems okay).Quote:

The shoulders need you to be pushing the button as you connect the arms and because they are tiny, this can be very tricky as there is two of them for each shoulder that need to be pushed simultaneously. The waist connect though 'clips' that only hook up properly if you align them while pushing little buttons that open up the 'hooks' connectors that clamp on the waist. When you release the buttons, the waist clamps into the torso.
If possible I am greener then the green giant! Thanks for posting photos guys, the giant looks awesome. If only my wallet wasn't shrinking away from me and having a cowering in the corner I'd definitely want to pick up one of these!

The more I look at these toys and study the transformations, the more I am liking the design and engineering efforts. The asymmetrical nature of the combined figure makes this such a nice set.
