I need a better look at Takara's. I dislike the Rhino skin colour in the pics they have shown, but the painted chain guns are a big plus. However accessories are easy to DIY paint so I'm still undecided.

The word is out:
Tankor is going to be a deluxe version of Beast Machines Tankor and a brand new mold
Crosscut is going to be a recolour of Generations Skids with a new head sculpt
Very cool news, though a little dissapointing for those of us hoping Tankor would be a Voyager version of Octane.
From TFW:
Not surprised that Rattrap's rat mode lacks poseability.Quote:
Rattrap is as you can see in the image based on his season 1 beast mode. The image in the magazine shows Rattrap comes with two guns, most likely they combine to make the larger gun shown on the cover. His beast mode is an organic rat, nicely detailed but it seems to lack some poseability.
Tankor is likely to be the star of this assortment, for those wanting show-accurate Beast Machines toys. His robot form is nearly spot-on to how the character looked in the Beast Machines series, with the tank mode sporting the semi-exposed head which was something of a trademark for Tankor. Plus he sports a Vehicon faction symbol - making the Vehicons the sixth faction represented in the current Transformers Generations series.
Crosscut is as some anticipated a silver redeco of Skids, with a new head. The new head seems to be based on the original alternate head design of Diaclone Skids, later used on the exclusive E-Hobby Crosscut and Generations book Screech figures.
Show accurate Tankor is really a pleasant surprise though. Hope they'll give us more BM characters. Pretty much anything they will be a huge improvement in terms of show-accuracy.
I've seen pictures of these on Facebook, but I won't post them here because the club doesn't want them revealed online yet. But Tankor looks the best of these 3.
Saw the news this morning. I've never seen Beast Machines and don't have anything from that line in my collection so Tankor better be really good or I'll be skipping him. (who am I kidding, they will put him in IDW and then I will have to buy him.:() Crosscut should be good.
I guess now we just need Nightbeat confirmed.
Tankor looks a little lame in a retro kind of way. The other are great!
Im thinking Rattrap rat legs might have some movement. Loving all three
Not so much for Hasbro as for the club. I've never understood how or why in the internet age the club are so prissy about the one or two exclusive images they manage to get a year, nor why the fandom in general has shown itself so willing to humour them.
Rattrap looks great, in alt mode at least. Tankor looks... eh. I'm sure the people who've always wanted a show accurate BM tankor will be delighted. Crosscut looks cool. I think I actually prefer him to Skids.
I think the original mega sized Tankor figure actually looks better than this one, though I spose it is more show accurate (I have the DVD's but I barely remember the show). I will prob get Crosscut simply as he seems an interesting character as an Autobot AMbassador to alien worlds
Rattrap's alt mode looks great. While the head is mostly show accurate (and realistic),the teeth are a nice homage to the original toy.
Looks like they sacrificed modern engineering for show-accuracy on Tankor though..
Not bad, Tankor's alt mode is a little odd. Guessing he will be a bit on the small side too, however not as small as scout Tankor I suppose.
Kinda nifty they gave Crosscut a new head sculpt.
I really think Tankor need a voyager mold
It looks more like the Tankor drone rather than Tankor himself
Crosscut on the other hand will be my SG Skids, he will look nice with SG Tracks
Tankor is a great reminder why I've never watched or collected BM. He reminds me more of Evil Emperor Zerg than a Transformer. Even if he turns up in IDW it will be a very hard sell to get me to buy one.
Tankor really reminds me of the Straxus mould from a couple of years back.

I had a dream last night that they announced Generations Tarantulas. I can see him clear as day in my head. He's beautiful!
I am not in a big hurry for a Generations Tarantulas mostly because his 90s toys were pretty competent and still look good today, specially the 10th anniversary repaint for the non-TM version. Rhinox and Rattrap did need updates (Rhinox more so) so I am happy with that. Generations Cheetor was a bit of a downgrade unfortunately.
Yeah, it was all about the bulbous abdomen with the dream, making him more screen accurate, but you're right about his 10th Ann. version -- it's a good looking version.

If you'll notice, he's the only Hasbro toy in my 10th Anniversary display. Takara didn't do a version of him, perhaps because Hasbro did such a good job of him, or because they wanted to do other figures instead. Either way, he stands up well next to the better detailed/quality Takara toys.
Of the two spiders, Blackarachnia is in most need of a new toy incarnation.
I'd like to see and update of both spiders. I wouldn't call the original Taranulas a particularly competent example of Beast Wars at all, I'd say Rattrap was better. The original Tarantulas was pretty spartan on paint aps, I had to customize him just to make him look remotely good and even then he never looked at all like a tarantula. As soon as Transmetal Tarantualas was released he pretty much replaced the original Tarantulas on my shelf.
