Why couldn't they do sound blaster black and gold scheme with a better rat bat?
These may turn up locally? Has anyone asked hasbro Australia ?
Yeah, I had to double-check the images in the first post of this topic... as I didn't think there was much "Gen1" in the colours of the next CNY Optimus.
On a side note... that's all four years so far of the zodiac specials that includes an Optimus. Is the character so iconic that they couldn't risk zodiac specials without an Optimus?
Dragon Optimus
Snake Optimus (and Omega Surpreme... and sorta HK Gaia Unicron & Optimus)
Horse Optimus (and Starscream)
Goat Optimus (and Soundwave)
They need to use the RotF Leader Optimus for one.
I saw these toys in hand the other day. Eh... pass.
Back on RK, birthday sorted!!!
As with previous Chinese New Year Transformers, one of the YOTG pair has been found before Christmas in Asia... so the other should show up soon as well, and appear soon on Asian online stores.
The YOTG Optimus has been found in The Philippines, and the artwork looks nice.
(A lot nicer than the toy inside... but I'll still get it. :p )
review is up

ordered from RK based on this. i think it looks really good in the video and i think i can do something with some leds :)
I really regret not getting G2 Op & Megs back in the day - but with this weird opaque & brownish colouring which reminds me of the time the toilet wouldn't flush properly - this figure is a pass for me
if theses are seeing an australian release do we know which retailers?
YOTG soundwave is on its way from RK :)
was going to get soundblaster mp13b before i saw the review of this one and i think the bronze looks ok. and i get the feeling that this will grow on me like YOTH prime (which im pretty sure i prefer to mp10 normal now)
Shipped yesterday!
here more pics

I'm kinda feelin' Wave in the YOTG series. Hope he's not too pricey though.
So have we had a go yet at guessing how much Soundwave will go for over here? My money's on $250 at Myer.
I would probably go with the $250 price, so that they can discount it in a catalogue soon after its release, for $150-200.
That's how Myer works - their sale price is the one they set to make regular profit, while their "regular" price is the one that makes them the bonus profit from non-collectors who don't shop around or know its real value.
I only felt it is so much smaller than mp-10 yoth but maybe you are right.
rp $250
sale price 50% pff =$125
that price or less, yea ill prob get one

maybe someone can do a poll for how much would you buy yotg soundwave for?
This is going to be one of those same decision as what I did for YOTH Optimus except with even less optimistic wanting it.
It will have to be at a sale price for me to want it.
I got mine yesterday and this guy is cool
Comes with everything the hasbro sdcc edition
I quite like the way he looks on my shelf. The lights work well with his clear plastic
Might get another one for my son when they go on sale later In the year
i like how the clear cassettes look ..... wish they used a chrome gold ...then i would be all over it
Apparently (yet to be confirmed), the YOTG Soundwave with 5 cassettes will retail in America at ToysRUs for US$190.
If that's true, the almost-doubling of the original US MP Soundwave set certainly fits the recent pattern of Hasbro America following Hasbro Asia's lead of marking up the price of limited-edition collectable items to insane prices (if enough fans are seen to pay double or more on the secondary market or to scalpers, it was probably assessed as being acceptable by enough collectors to warrant starting at those higher prices first)... but it could also mean a much higher price here, of anything up to or over AU$300!
For anyone planning to get either of the Chinese New Year toys, if this is the price they will be at in America, it is best to buy from Asian sources, who are selling them for about US$100-130.
Just ordered my YOTG SW from RK. Ugh, our dollar is shite atm and (obviously) worse via PayPal.
Yeah i was going to give it til local release to decide if I want one... But that price even aud is a deal breaker. Probably wont end up getting it then as nothing to order from overseas for combined postage for a few months at least.
