The resemblance is uncanny :p
Given the size chart Griffin posted I think his size will be fine. He is meant to be cartoon Shockwave he doesn't need to be as big and threatening as Optimus, he's not exactly intimidating in the cartoon basically the most boring Decepticon ever.
AKA Cybertron administrator, toon Shockwave is essentially Megatrons head bureaucrat. :D
Unlike G1 Comic Shockwave who was the same size as Scorponok. Although admittedly, Comic Scorponok isn't nearly as big as his cartoon counterpart. ;)
^This. :)
G1 Comic Shockwave may be the more interesting/memorable character, but this character is entirely different from G1 Cartoon Shockwave, which is what Japanese audiences would be more familiar with. Hypothetically speaking, if Hasbro AP were to consider releasing this toy here, I'd be inclined to re-write his bio based on his comic persona.
Yeah I remember that Dr Smoov toon well, sadly true cartoon Shockwave is a terrible shot, while comic Shockwave essentially defeated all the Autobots with one shot (and some cunning) in the comic.
Like Soundwave, Shockwave is basically a whole different character when comparing the G1 cartoon and Marvel Comic, it's hard to reconcile the differences when writing a bio for the character.
If Shockwave does end up a bit shorter than Optimus, then I'll designate my 3rd party one as his more intimidating comic persona.
The humour in Dr Smoov's clips are so so well done, so clever. I dont think it gets enough praise. I've never seen a youtube parody that good before.
I'll forever hear "Aw shit" everytime i look at shockwave.
I like the smaller size for two reasons. Not only does it mean he may be a bit cheaper than MP-10 but it means he'll scale nicer to MP-8
nice one, haven't logged in for a while and now i see new mp shockwave and hot rod, cool! :)
Sorry if I am late to this but shouldn't he be bigger? He doesn't look as big as the Seekers or Soundwave.

Already up for pre order at bbts
If seekers were to be scaled they should be way bigger.
Available at $150 at PC
This was an unlikely official release so the fact that it's happening is great news!
As has been mentioned, MP Shockwave looks very cartoon inspired so that will certainly have a good G1 cartoon crowd appeal. They must have gotten a license or worked out some sort of legal loophole but nonetheless, it shows that they are willing to look into and work out licensing for G1 Non-TakTom molds for MP releases.
I wonder if Quakewave and other 3P releases made them realize the market demand to make it happen?
Where is the price coming from? Has Takara released solicitations already?
And ordered free shipping can't go wrong
Estimates are based on their size compared to previous toys, with the disclaimer at most places that the price is likely to be adjusted when it's officially known.
This is just the routine of online stores to lock in people first... so that it locks in the lazy people, who will just stick with that order unless they find a significantly cheaper option later (not just a little cheaper) to make it worth the hassle of ordering somewhere else and cancelling the old order. (you might for a couple of dollars, but many wont, especially if it is going to be part of the larger order)
So Premium Collectibles are taking preorders, which you have to pay upfront for, for Masterpiece figures that have only had a grey prototype shown and _nothing_ else. No release date, no price, nothing?
Can't say I'm down for that. At least BBTS doesn't require cash upfront.
People also not forgetting a poor Aussie dollar and is a good price to lock in plus reward points from previous purchases bringing the price down further.
Anime export also requires payment up front but it is one of the other cheapest tf masterpiece sites.
Also a grey prototype wins over a shadow or just a toon painted figure like ultra Magnus if I recalled correctly.
2 words:
Official solicitations.
It's not Just Pc I have an issue with, it's the concept of paying for something that essentially officially doesn't exist yet. Takara have revealed no info on this. Release date could be 2019. Would people still be ok with paying upfront then?
No one who wants a MP for a reasonable price has missed out on release yet. I suppose it's just a case of PC and other etailers offering a function people want.
People amaze me sometimes.
Better for some, less competitive involved meaning more chances. As stated 30 people had no issues as if this was a fake rumours, I trust I can get my refund from PC.
Yes I prefer pay later option.
But will not be debating
End of the day I am paying less than $135 for my shockwave. Not many people can say they can pay less for it. There will be listings here for above $200 and people are all happy to pay too.
Where did you get $135? How do you know there won't be a "price adjustment" in a months time?
No need to rush on these ones since they aint limited like Bluestreak, TC, and Clampdown.
Is a gamble I guess? How many here feels that hot rod for $85 isn't cheap?
How I get $135? I used my store points for items I bought earlier. Is actually cheaper than this.
Price adjustments are going to be made, and they did indicate that the second run may cost more.
I don't blame people who don't want to pay in advance. As people have different habits in how they spend. As long as PC does not come back to me and say "hey buddy we need to increase prices for all your items you ordered from us" as a common trend I am willing to pay up front for the low prices. Not forgetting the free shipping if you buy above $150.
I paid for 4 iron hides and share among friends and we end up paying $85 for one rather than paying $110 for one. Why not? And you get rewards points to lower your next purchase.
Shockwave for $150 is a great price for something delivered.
After all hasbro starscream mp is at $150 from tru. Do the maths
Yes it can also back fire as the item can be cheaper. I took the risk against our falling dollar.
Well looks like they are reopening for new orders soon. :)
I would be willing to take the risk on buying Shockwave upfront except that I already have MP-11T Thundercracker and MP27 Ironhide on Pre-order with PC. So that's $280 paid up front to a vendor that I have no recourse against if they went out of business for some unknown reason. Taking that risk up to $430 is too much risk for me.
I can totally understand people wanting to buy now with the dollar as it is, and $150 sounds like a good price given the increase in MP costs these days.
Still for me personally being locked into a contract buying an item with an end product I haven't even seen is a bridge to far. the fact that he's in the white prototype stage suggest we wont be seeing the end result for some time. if Ironhide and Tracks are anything to go by, we wont be seeing Shockwave or Hotrod until 6 months after we see the colour version.
We didn't even see ultra Magnus mp product AT ALL till way down the track.
All we had was just a toon pic as far as I recalled. Same goes for bee.
This in fact is the first time I get to see an actual prototype from TT.
We are about to come to a point where why don't they have just toy release and ban pre orders. Because I know for a fact that nowadays if you don't pre order you have a hard time getting one on release date.
Personally I would have agree with you 100% that we should have review and then say yes, I want one. This has not happened in a very long time. If it did you are paying about 20% above what most people paid at pre orders.

Mini Shockwave - sold!
I was really keen on Shockwave but the recent colour pictures have stopped me ordering him. The purple doesn't look toon accurate to me at all, it should be darker, not toy dark but not light purple like it appears in the current pictures. It pains me but I may skip this figure.
