I'm not sure I get the point of a deluxe Brainstorm so soon after the (very good) voyager version?
I mean, we got 2 Ultra Magnuses in a year, but MP & Generations are two very disparate lines, so it was understandable. But this? And it's just a remould of something coming out around the same time.:confused:

It depends on you opinion of Voyager Brainstorm. I find him to an be oversized and simplistic toy, who doesn't scale well with any of the other toys I like to display him with, so even though this new Brainstorm is a Blurr retool, I'm interested.
Hell yeah for Astrotrain (only in cartoon colours). The new Galvatron was really giving me a tough one with the 3-pack with the deluxe moulds, but this looks really good. Octane please.
I'll skip Brainstorm though. As good as he looks so far, I already have MTMTE Generations Brainstorm.
Dunno - maybe the designers came up with 2 different Brainstorm toys and both were too good to ditch so Hasbro decided to release both, just a couple of years apart.Quote:

I might grab this Brainstorm for kicks. Very happy with FP Smart Robin, and agree that the Voyager version was too simplistic (plus wasn't there an issue with the head connection getting stuck?).

Alpha Trion looks rad, but not an insta-buy. Can't wait for alt mode.
Astrotrain looks phenomenal, but no cartoon colours (unless he's silver or something and it looks white-please just once Hasbro). Looks like Takara for me, or tracking down a Henkei. If Hasbro release two versions, one with white and one with grey (kind of like Onslaught), that would be cool.
I'm seeing a good deal of speculation that a redeco into Lioconvoy is planned for Alpha Trion. It'd make sense, since in theory Hasbro wouldn't even have to tool up a new head - they could just use PMOP's.
Ok, so I'm glad to get new versions of most of these characters and hopefully I can now stop wanting G1 versions of the Headmasters and Headmaster Jrs.
Because it's so extensive I think Fort Max looks less like a remould and more like they used the same basic design.
I might actually look at third party guns for the guys that are Targetmasters in G1 just to have something a little more like I remember.
As usual I'll wait to see Takara redecos of them and probably end up buying Takara's version.
I'm betting the Takara Tomy version will be cartoon accurate like the Henkei was. I have noticed on my Henkei Astrotrain that the chrome hasn't held up well, yet another bad application of chrome from the late 2000's.Quote:

Apparently the heads connect the same way as 2014's Voyager Brainstorm, so sticking his noggin on the Deluxe Brainstorm could be pretty funny
