Nosecone and Strafe have won me over.
I think they'll stick a bit too close to the cartoon colours which means that Afterburner wont be the toy-accurate orange I'd like, but we'll see.Quote:

I want to like it...really I do. It has 3 new molds from the Hasbro Protectobots (a set which I really enjoy) and there's clearly been a lot of effort put into redoing the existing molds, which I'd like to encourage. I'm actually a big fan of well-done remolds, and a lot of the 'new' stuff I've been buying over the past few years has been the 'remold' versions.
But, this just isn't doing it for me. :( It just doesn't seem Sci-Fi enough somehow, and it looks kind of scrawny. The lanky look kind of worked on Superion, but Computron was always a pretty solid design. There's some nice touches and I'm really glad they've done it, but I think I'm going to hold out for a G1 reissue and/or scoring a bargain on a MakeToys Quantron.
It's a nice try @TakaraTomy, just not what I'm looking for.

Notwithstanding Afterburner not being orange like the toy, I think this one looks outstanding.
Here I thought I would be done with CW/UW after preordering UW Bruticus. Seriously tempting. It looks amazing!
They nailed that chest and head. Loving this
All that's left now is predaking and obominus. Oh and monstructor wouldn't be too bad either, loved that little guy as a kid.

Love what they've done with the limbs however the Silverbolt mold is one of the weakest central robots, no matter how you dress it up. It's enough to put me on the fence with this one.
After Yuki hilighted the stickers on the chest and compared them to the cartoon glow effect, I was kind of hoping for some little cool lenticuar stickers in them.
It's odd, as the individual Robots look very nice, but Computron just looks, I dunno, kinda lacking...

Usually I wait till I get both the CW and UW sets then choose the worst representation of each character to make the gestalt and keep the best for individual bots.
Comparing these two sets it's a no brainer. UW for individual bots except for Scattershot who I'll need to make Computrons torso actually look different to Superion.

Wow, they are pretty much two completely different sets of bots. I am surprised that TT and Hasbro have made them so dissimilar. There are bits of both sets that I like, I wonder how many people will buy both and mix and match?
Seeing all of them side by side I think the only one of 5 that Hasbro maybe wins out on individual bots is Afterburner but that's just comes down to colour preference. Nosecone and Strafe on the UW Set are so much better than their CW versions. UW wins this by unaminous decision.
The Hasbro Nosecone appears to be a little....... inadequate next to the Takara version :p
