I'm here as well heh.
I think they are being lazy, you can ship big items like that. A few years ago, I received a box that was up to waist height, and pretty round. Cost somewhere under US$100 to have it shipped.

In the last 2-4 years, the max/limit size the US postal service can send appears to have shrunk - based on posting stuff back from botcon each year.
As such, I wouldn't be surprised if the size of Fort Max (in a box big enough for it) is now too big to send by USPS. If that is true, and the seller is willing, see if they can find out if UPS (a courier company) can handle it.
I think griffin might be right. To properly pack the toy, it'd have to be in a box that is bigger than the already very big Fort Max box. I picked up Grand Max from a shop and bought my Fort Max from HK years ago, so don't have any useful input re shipping from US. :(
Griff I appreciate the suggestion, but courier companies (like fedex) will prob end up having me fork out more money than fort max himself :(
I think you guys are right. I just got an email from the dude that owns planetforce and he reckons fort max via usps is no longer an option due to size restrictions. Perhaps he's too big in a box (length wise); would transforming him into base mode work? (Ive never owned a fort max, so just wondering)
Yeah, city mode would definitely be the most compact.
FYI...
City Mode: 30cm(H) x 55cm(L) x 42cm(W)
Robot Mode: 55cm(H) x 35cm(W)
Battleship mode: iirc 77~78cm(L)... width would be a bit over 35cm and the height should be 30cm.
If the longest dimension in city mode is still the same as the robot mode's longest dimension, you'll still have problems. If I recall, the longest dimension can only go so far, and, the girth (the addition of the other two dimensions and doubled) can only go so far as well. There may also be a total dimension limit as well (length plus girth). Check the USPS website for their size restrictions.
Yep I know. But the smaller size restictions leaves us with no other choice now with over-sized toys/items.Quote:

How much do you think they'll charge you for shipping? Cos I paid $100 for insured postage when I got Brave Maximus.
When I was very young my older brother used to own a few G1 toys but they were sold in a garage sale long before I got back into TFs (now I think it was a HUGE mistake to sell those toys) - I was thinking of getting into collecting G1 toys; particularly the ones we used to have when we were younger. We had quite a few Micromasters back then (which I think I might start off collecting 1st and might try to get them all) - are they worth collecting now? TOo expensive? Rare?
