yes...but that's one big toy compared to 6 big toys with their own design and engineering etc that combine into one even bigger. not quite apples and apples.

Yes he was and hence I am thinking this guy is actually a bit costly without the full shebang like the takara version.
For metroplex I didn't take takara as I didn't feel the need for it. However this time if the price is right, I go takara as the pros are quite a lot.
I'm curious to see if giving Scrapper elbows will in any way affect his arms' load bearing ability as Devastator's right heel spurs. Because having put Devvy into various action and fighting poses, I gotta say that it does take on a significant amount of weight.
This is why Hasbro said at BotCon that they didn't give elbows, because the toy wasn't stable enough in combined mode with them... and they are interested to see what TakaraTomy have done to give theirs stability.
I'd prefer a Devastator that doesn't keep falling over than a couple of missing elbows that don't effect play with the majority of people buying the toy. (which is the priority of Hasbro - doing what the majority of their customers will want in order to make *them* buy their products, and then throw in as much extras for the fans as they can afford)
Looks like TFi Down Under has opened its preorders for the Takara Devy, $200
